Crawdaddy's Fall 2013 TopLED COB Grow

looking great Crawdaddy.

I'm gonna have to PM you when I'm ready to get a new light for some recommendations. You seem to be growing with a lot of the major LED light brands on the market.
Keep up the good work.;)

Hey Chronic, thanks Hope your weekend is well, looking forward to your update :)

PM me anytime man, but I have only tried two lights, the Advanced Diamond series and the TOP LED COB. I have a lot of physics based knowledge about the LED lights, but not a whole lot of actual grow experience...yet.

Was messing around with the baby clones some, figured since I have two of each and only need 1 for possible future mothers that I would play around training some of the extras.

Well I wanted to copy Light Addicts training method, but wiht mature clones you do not have the symmetrical growth that you do with seedlings.

See here(this one did not get trained)..

Here is a Choco Chunk, before and after.

And a Double Berry After LST.

We will see how they recover and have some even tops.

Hey crawdaddy I was interested in those air pots. How much better do you think they are? Right now I'm just using 3 gallon regular pots with amended FFOF soil and then my nutes during feeding. I did a little research on the air pots and they look cool but I don't know anyone that uses them personally.

I like the airpots, a bit tricky cause with these real small ones the soil can dry out fast. And when soil gets real dry hard to soak cause water will run out the sides. But they allow more O2 to roots. Others are using them on here. Like Harley001 and Greytail I believe. There are more but those two come to mind.

I wouldn't really have a problem with them drying out I don't think since I'll be on a watering system. It might actually help since i'm switching over to LED lighting and they won't dry as fast as with HPS.

I am confident the LEDs will be every growers choice in the next 5-10 yrs.

lots of people here use airpots helps the soil dry out faster and prunes the roots
of course that also means more watering

5 day update of TopLED COB plants...

I am still disappointed with these plants overall. Not blaming the light, I think it a variety of factors, something has not been right with these plants since i repotted and moved under this light. Might be the soil mix, too big pots, to wet soil, to much fert, light not enough wavelengths, training method, or combination of the previous. Well not giving up on them, going to give it time.

Here are the pics. On the close ups can see water drops, just sprayed them down.

And with the lights on, to bright for poor camera.

Figured I would give a quick non picture update of the 3 separate grows...

Baby clones-Looking good under the 100W diamond Series. Some are still a bit droppy, but just got put in soil a few days ago. The ones that are a few weeks old are putting on new growth, topped the two that I did not LST, going to compare topping vs LST. Before move to bigger pots will probably gave away one of each, only need one of each strain. Of the 5 strains/phenos I got clones of, 4 of them I have 2 clones under this light.

4 plants flowering under TopLED COB/UFO. Just got lots of little buds forming. They doing their thing, albeit not the healthiest plans. Still no firm conclusions on why not looking great. Picture update on Thursday.

3 plants in SCROG under 200W diamond Series. I love how these plants are looking. The branches are probably growing about an inch a day, at least the Hawaiian Snow maybe the other two not so much. 3 days into flower. They got that nice lime green on new growth. Filling out screen nicely I think. Should have 6-10 tops per plant. Picture update tomorrow.

Here is the 5 day update for the 3 plants under the 200 W Diamond Series LED.

I am happy with these plants so far. They seem to be doing nicely. Gave them a small feeding tonight also; Flowers Kiss Foliar spray, and 1/2 strength Fox Farms Feeding schedule for 1st week of flower. Been slowing pruning out lower branches under screen as I am sure they will not make it above screen at all.
