Cottage 420's Organic Perpetual Indoor Garden

Ask all them ground up cows in my bone meal and I read they use porcupine blood in this blood meal I got. But it all is just a cycle... Keepem Green

Some pics.. forgot to take a picture of the Chemdawg I just put into flower.. she's 6' tall into the lights burnt one of her 40 cola's ... she's an absolute monster @ 6' and just started setting flowers AND she's not done stretching. She's a clone from I think Tall Girl from a few rounds ago. She was in VEG for 3 months I think... I'll have to look on her label, I don't remember.

On a side note... been trying to bring in Exotic Genetics Labyrinth into the flower room. I have 10 VEG plants that are from REG seeds. They are @ 35 days in VEG and I can't sex them for some reason... the guys look like girls and the girls aren't showing me anything. So I'm 0 for 2 and now on Labyrinth #3 in flower ... 1 & 2 were male and compost.

All the ladies in the flower room were excited for a few weeks with males in the room.

Oh one more thing... as soon as Chemdawg started showing flowers, some neighbor reported a gas leak AGAIN.... Same thing happened the last time I ran Chemdawg.

The gas guy comes up to my wife whom is working in the gardens outside.. I need to test for a gas leak, I know where your meter is .. and starts walking into the house uninvited. Door locked dude cant get in.... asks wife if he can go in... she comes and gets me. I told the gas guy we don't have a leak no you're not going into our home thank you very much. Feck-outta-heeeer.

Good thing. I've got 30 AUTO Dark Devils on a grow table in the basement! hahahahaha Smells like berries!

Here's my post from the eye candy thread:

Citrus Berry #2 Organic soil - Kimbo Kush X Orange Valley OG, Flower Cycle: 56-63 days @ 50 days, just starting to turn colors.

To add onto that:

Citrus Berry # 3 lower down nugs

Here's Chemdawg in the backround there.. Devils Tit in foreground is 5'6" ish the lamps are @ 6' 3" ish tips burnt on one cola - she's still going too... I had to tie her up a little ... more tying to come once I get DT outta there. Should be harvest time soon for her, with the males in the room DT started throwing out a shit ton more pistols... she's getting heavy!

DSCN22654.JPG

DT Main cola shots - curly tips .... she's looking pretty.. getting her blond thing on!

DT - lower down skirt shot.... she's going to be a good yielder... Here sisters both weighed in at 3 zips dry per plant, this one is bigger and more dense.

DSCN22587.JPG

Citrus Berry # 1 I think.... I had to move her. The top colas were into the lights and no way for me to tie that down now. I broke one of the stems moving her (I hit the ceiling with it - oops), that's why she's tied up. All good and still putting on weight .... won't be long, harvest time is getting close.

DSCN22534.JPG

Chemdawg - The Tall 2.0 - at the lights.... I'm gonna need a taller ceiling...

DSCN22564.JPG

Citrus Berry # 1 low down buds, she's turning colors and pistols just starting to change to orange... I was hoping for a little more purple on the sugar leaves .... you know for pretty pictures and all, but this one is not cooperating... homely little thing.. prolly going to yield me 4 zips I think... so I'm good with homely.

DSCN22704.JPG

Little bit of lighting update... getting some more VERO 29 COBs here. I've got 4 arrays already (only 1 in flower). I was hesitant moving them all into the flower room un-tested. So I used the 1 array on 2 plants they both finished very fast, decent yields. So I'm happy with the output, my electric bill is better - $50 less from same time last year and we have more lighting. Took down some burple lamps and replaced with COBs.

With this somewhat new COB tech.. all the expert techs and clammering for sales positions it would seem.

I'm just going to kick back and watch all the fun and keep growing my weeds organic style and let my ladies do my talkin's.

Anyone need any help with COB tech, I'm here... been running them for a few years now and as always, willing to share what I know. :Namaste:

High level growing bob....consistently beautiful buds. Crazy story about the "gas leak". While we use descriptors like "fuel, gassy, petrol" etc. to describe Chems, it sure as hell doesn't smell like leaking natural gas. Crazy ass neighbor you have. Not COB but new Mega kicked ass in its maiden run. Keeping my eye on COB too....esp. the new one by PLC. :Namaste:

dam bb lookn great man and close call with the gas man gud thing u got ur doors locked and man are those citrus berry autos or photos?? either way ur rockn the shit out the organics man and the cobs are def nice I jus recently got a cob light as u no lol and yea I'm thinkn about getting another one for the flower tent and maybe down the line switch up to all cobs I wud love to get sum timeber cobs but it wud cost me 5 or 6 hundo and I jus don't got tht right now maybe for a smaller 1 since I only need to cover like 2ana half feet by like 5 feet I think is how long my tent is and since I don't know anything about lights n stuff I dnt know what I need so I jus get cheapo cobs and it seems to be doing great then it is already made I dnt gotta mess with nuthn or do anything other then plug an go lol so I figure for right now jus get another cheapo Chinese cob and tht shud get me threw this years of harvest and maybe next summer ill need to buy more but shit even if it only makes it threw one harvest it will be worth the money since I got it for 150 bux and its a 1200w so idk what tht wud be in actual watts but the girls are loving it in the veg tent massive stretching going on as soon as my fan arrives ill be throwing atleast 2 more girls into the flower tent

Beautiful plants as always with tons of buds....:thumb: good stuff

I've been thinking about a cob setup and I'm impressed. Kinda shocking seeing your ladies so close to the light with no negative effects.. Those buds would have been burnt to a crisp under my HPS.. When I'm ready to switch, I know who to ask.

This bud was pushing against the glass of a 600W HPS hood yesterday. Bent a little sideways. Crappy picture, but the bud is fine :)

yea I'm wondering as well since i have a same size tent and i just got a 1200w cob light to put in my tent so i jus hope it has some gud penetration and does better then my vipraspecter 600w but yea about how high do u hang ur light and what size one do u got??

Hehehe ummm hang my lamps in flower close enough to burn the top sugars and back em off a inch or 2, and then get the ropes out.

This grow, ropes are out FTW AND burnt tips. Ropin and dopin... dopes on ropes! hahahaha I was tying up Chemdawg today... trying to spread her out. It's tough cause I'm outta room in flower and getting REAL close to being out of room in VEG now.

If this plant grows like her mom.... I might have to do one of those scrog deals but I think its too late for that. I'm counting my chickens... and this is going to be epic.. gonna break my 8zip dry weight haul from last summer maybe...

If I have enough time. I have 70ish days to finish this on before vacay.

Be harvesting soon... I've got 4 Citrus Berry and 1 big Devils Tit... they all are about ready. I'm waiting for some not rainy weather. We are scheduled for a nor'easter here tomorrow which for the uninitiated is 20-40mph winds out of the NE with heavy heavy rainfall... usually in the inches range.. but cooler temps so RH way too high for me to harvest.

Was going to estimate my next haul but thinking bad juju.. not going to jinx myself. Anything can happen.

Really really digging the Devils Tit smoke... gets me going with a nice head high buzz uplifting for an hour or more ... then a real good body buzz with a VERY nice soft landing. Taste is smooth like butter ... numbs the tongue then my face followed by laughing for no reason.

My wife doesn't puff anymore ... I bet she thinks I'm crazy... ummm OK give er that. Flavor is nutty .. very smooth mouth numbing with a hint of pepper... it's still evolving ... some gassy flavor but subtle. It's actually so smooth I have to be careful cause I get a huge expansive hit ... so first puff I'm almost choking until I remember to tok'er easy. Once I get into a rhythm of several light puffs ... bam even get a little light headed! So its soft tasting with a hard hit and a freaking awesome affect. My heart rate is elevated for several hours, and I'm in pretty good physical condition, this would NOT be a med for the casual imbiber.. I've got a decent tolerance even for freshies so I'm all over this... love it.

The last Devils Tit plant is a different pheno, I'm expecting something different and the last plant is the one I took clones from.

Thanks bro.. really tho this is as good as I get until a bigger grow space. Economics has to drive me to go bigger. Not there .. not sure I wanna be there with all the politix going on.

I could build these lamps myself and a lot of folks are doing it but the cost + my time doesn't work for me. This time of year I'm all about composting and building soil, and the soil is the money maker for me 1000% .. I spend my time with a shovel and a screen and a wheel barrow... Let Timber build my gear. I'm stoked with results so far, specially VEG results = monster flowers.

Thanks there BL .. I'm doing great this round due to my soil ... I've actually done very little work other than transplant into flower and make sure the auto watering system is doing it's thing. Transplanting is hard work tho..

Chemdawg smell ... yeah not natural gas but sometimes during the day I get a wiff ... I think one of my neighbors has a grow going and they are growing some Blueberry skunk weed, it's popular around these parts. We smell it when gardening outside and I'm ... is that us.. no can't be...

Hey Bo, wondering what COB's you have floating around the tent. I see you're getting more Vero29's, do you have some 3590's in there as well? If so just seeing what you prefer better or if you're even noticing a big difference.
I'm on my first full grow with my 3590's and have been really impressed. The heat savings have been the biggest advantage, well besides my lower elec. bill.
Have a great weekend!

She's a tough cookie :thumb:.. A few days at 6 inches yellowed my top fans real bad on my Birthday Cakes. Strain Dependent? My other strains don't really have this issue but there not as tall.. Maybe i have a hot spot?

Have a great weekend!

I run several different COBs... first one I got was Amare that has the CBX-3070s and then was looking for something more in line with what we see being built by DIY'ers nowadays... framework/power supply and heatsinks with COBs... now when I want to upgrade I can go to Mouser or the like (electronic supply) and by the chips and drop them in.

I have 4 rails of VERO 29 V7 COBs running as well along with some Mars Tech.. which the only bang on the Mars gear is the heat generated.

Yeah today I went into my VEG room and noticed the fan I have in there was turned off. We had a scheduled power outage Monday... that was 6 days ago and the room never got into the 80s with no fans. So that's a HUGE deal for me. My flower room is only 50% COB tech... at my next harvest that will all change. I'm going to install 2 more VERO 29 V7 rails and move the Mars lamp to my AUTO table.

I looked REAL hard at the 3590's and did a comparo to the VERO 29 V7 chips. My findings are that when running a 1400mA driver the VERO 29 actually has a very SLIGHT edge in performance... @ 1/2 the cost of the 3590's .... done and done. All my VERO arrays are running on a 2100mA drivers ... at that amp rating the 3590's have the edge. At upgrade time... I will be looking at the Cree chips for sure. I have VERO chips & Cree chips ... cant say as there's any difference other than price.

It won't be long, the COB tech will be 1:1 replacement for HID. We've come a long way ... HID was GREAT when the cost of running them was cheap.. deregulating the electrical grid has changed the game. LED tech has been around since the 60s, only until there's money to be made, will corporations invest in R&D. We are finally there I think. Gonna be game changing and we have the momentum for now.

Thats really great news about the heat. Like you I was using a Mars light first which gave me really awesome results just way too much heat for my liking. Well and the noise. I grow in our bedroom so any noise reduction is always a plus for me.
I like the numbers coming from the Vero's and will for sure give them a better look. The price looks good too!

LED/COB tech is starting to take hold here, but most grow shops are hesitant to sell them. I was told thats because the large Dutch greenhouses aren't using them yet and most guys feel that if the tech was that good these commercial growers would be using it too. Like you said it won't be long I'm seeing new products nearly everyday. Plus just seeing how many growers on here have switched has been awesome. I wasn't growing during the HID/MH days so I don't have much experience to look back on, but I like where we are headed!

Oh also I was able to score some Rabbit droppings, all that talk about slow nitrogen release in my no till sounded too good to pass up. Going to pick them up on Monday so looking forward to seeing how they work out.

Hey bo how much do you think it would cost to fill my 4x4 with cobs. Say 9 running at 600watts? Id prefer the cheaper vero but if you suggest cree or another brand. Trying to decide between diy and the perfect sun cob.

Your buds like mighty tasty bo!
What's up Bedroom farmer. I've been interested in this tech too and was looking at cobs at a web site named Timber Grow Lights. They're a little pricey but the packages and pre made lights are helping me wrap my brain around the what's needed, wattage and how much light I need to cover my grow space. Be sure to check it out even if it's for educational purposes...:thumb:

Professional growers I think took a turn with some other technology... forget the name, but the price is out of the question for me.

Yes the heat from these COBs arrays with passive heat sinks is very good. Not sure about growing in the bedroom with me since I have fans going 24/7... those alone are pretty noisy, but if you were doing a small grow like 1mx1m tent I'd run computer fans daisy chained, that would be pretty quiet.

Rabbit manure is awesome. I use it plants love it indoors and out. The other day we had a herd of wild rabbits come thru our outdoor gardens looking for friends and knocked over some plants and ate some alfalfa we have growing as ground cover/companion plants. Of course they left some fresh goodness behind.
I use the rabbit manure in the compost bin and also when I mix up soil I sometimes put a layer at the btm of the pot then put soil in, transplant and top dress. That stuff breaks down fairly quickly... I don't get much yellowing of leaves (other than finishing flower) in no-til pots and have been top dressing at transplant only since I've been using them this way.

9 Vero 29s the way I run them would be 3 COBs / driver at 2100mA per driver each with a trimmer pot that will be 300w for 3 so 900 watts total. You could easily grow with 6 VERO 29s' in a 4x4 ... so DIY you could probably do it for $600 all said and done... I have my VEG room dialed in that way and I'm thinking of changing that setup and moving all the COBs into my flower room, even with the intensity turned down 1/2 way I think it was too much for VEG plants.

I got my last set of COBs after I had plants in flower and didn't want to mess with moving everything but that was last round. I had a little glitch with my surge suppressor the other day ... it tripped off for some reason. I think I found one of my AC plugs wasn't plugged in tight enough and caused an issue. At any rate I'm about to harvest and I will have more room to work with, that and I have at least 3 Chemdawg plants that are going to be into the ceiling so I have to do a work around which means moving lighting and it's a good time to make changes....

So in a 4x4 tent I would do 2 sets of 3 VERO 29 COB arrays and go linear...so I can adjust spacing as required... all my COBs are linear for that reason. So 2 sets of 3 with 2 2100mA drivers with adjustable voltage and pots to adjust. Linear means 3 sets of COBs on a straight rail not a bug square with 6 .... the linear setup works for me... I've got a short ceiling @ 7' and sometimes like this coming round I've got some monster plants. I need a lot of flexibility with the lighting placement - linear setup gets that for me a big square setup won't have as much flexibility. It seems I'm always adjusting lights both height and spacing so linear for me.

I can easily grow 2 plants with 3 VERO 29 COBs... so in a 4x4 I could grow 4 plants with 6 COBs...HTH

I've been looking at this thread The DIY COB Addiction

There are a bunch of threads about this and not just here on 420Mag, YouTube has tutorials, there's websites dedicated to DIY COB setups .... this tech is definitely the wave of the near future anyway with LED IMHO.

Here's another one dedicated to the VERO 29...

Buck's 1500 Watts Of Vero 29

I think that one RAD pointed to that dude does 3590s. The 3590s and the VERO 29 V7 chips are VERY close in performance, I'm basing that on ME reading thru data sheets and going to the manufacturers web site and using the manufacturer's design tools and coming up with real numbers.

So yeah this tech is going to be around for a little while and worth the investment. Another cool thing is these chips are made in the USA!

I have fans going 24/7... those alone are pretty noisy, but if you were doing a small grow like 1mx1m tent I'd run computer fans daisy chained, that would be pretty quiet.

Here's a picture of my little set up. Lots of air flow for sure. Have the 2 6in fans around the canopy plus 2 pc fans above blowing on my Timber 100w CXB3590, and a carbon filtered exhaust fan. The 6in and pc fans are not very noticeable with the tent zipped up. The exhaust fan is a little more annoying, putting it in a box has helped though.
