Cottage 420's Organic Perpetual Indoor Garden

Hello Bob! Your LOS and the girls are performing amazingly and the colas look sweet and frosty!
I got my tea at hand and I will spray my Shark this time. Also I plan on disinfecting my whole tent after reconstruction and i thought some soda and water wash should do the trick. Or should I smoke the area with sulfur or something? Norcali was talking about intake filter rated for spores, which I think is great idea to limit the unneeded spores/dust in your grow room. UV also kills spores so that's one more reason to shine it on your girls. Use UV protection though! Great stuff here as always, cheers! :Namaste: :thanks:

Hey there T, thank you thank you. :Namaste:

I have ZERO experience with Sulfur burning other than reading about it; made me look for another treatment!! Not sure where you live but here where I live, there's nothing I can do about mold spores.

I did some amount of research as this pest is common specially in the wine regions in Cali and PacNW. That's how I came up with the Horsetail Fern tea. It's what the organic grapes growers use. In my research I started looking at leaves from plants in VEG and looking at them under a microscope. The mold is there from the get go...it's just biding time waiting for the environment to improve and most importantly I think the plants immune system keeps them at bey as well. Then late late flower time, plants run out of gas and mold gets the green light! Chopping I think makes things even worse.. no more immune system but frosty wet flowers ... perfect for mold. So run fans on the drying plant material ... I hang dry my flowers from a hook and line in my bedroom with a few fans on them 24/7. Aroma therapy...

During flower best to keep air moving adding a fan or 2 may help. I have 4 fans on 10 plants. Yeah the air filter would help a lot when the spores are airborne. The mold spores/PM spores are around certain times of year here. Early-mid fall and into winter time.. all the outdoor plants are covered with it.. so yeah no way to keep it out of the grow room. I monitor RH and used to keep it under 70% RH but now try to keep it under 60%RH if I can.

My only cure I've found so far that mitigated ALMOST 100% was the Horsetail Fern tea sprayed in in VEG and early flower. Kills the early formation of the mold that's been there on the VEG leaves. I can see how that worked with the microscope. Mold looks very similar to Trichomes without the mushroom shape... looks like tiny strands of trichome stalks but its not standing up ... it's laying down all willy nilly trying to cover the leaves.

So I'm going with the Horsetail Fern tea:

Ok late winter run is ramping up ... finally some decent looking ladies ready for the runway!

Lets run it down!

Snow High - Devils Tit #2 @ 30 days 12/12ish. Both of the DT plants are starting senescence already... getting some color to them. I cloned DT #1 at flip and the clone turned red while she was developing roots. Once in soil and back to 24/0 lighting, the clone is all green now! She will be the new other Mother in da house! I think I have 4 mothers in VEG! hahaha.. they make good flower ladies and/or compost!

Clone of DT #1 shortly after transplant - like 25 days ago... she was in cloner for a week to get some legs going. This was taken after she started to turn back to green again... but those colors are about what I'm hoping for... red/purple and green with bright green nugs... hopefully!

Devils Tit #1 - another angle starting to build up the frost ... this was a few days ago. She's getting a little yellow. Hopefully red is next. I did water all the ladies with a little kelp meal mixed with some EWC tea & water ... she's been top dressed at flip so nutrients are there in spades. My first run with this strain so not sure what to expect.
I'm going with .... Perfectly normal!

DT #1 again.. Both DT plants are at 5' tall not counting the container... tops the room out.

The Future #1 clone @ 20 days in 12/12ish... she decided to be a shorty @ 48" tall... but the frostiest of all so far.

This is The Future #1 clone another camera another view - lots of pretty little flowers.

Citrus Berry # 1 & #2 far back shot - just starting flower ... I was not impressed with Citrus Berry in VEG... I had a messed up time trying to sex them and ended up transplanting 2 males into the flower room. The other ladies were happy... but a lot of work to chop and trade in 2 more ladies. My fault for trying to get plants into flower too soon. The replacements are int stretch for the last like 10 days and are getting very tall and looking super.. I'm going to be pleasantly surprised with these ladies.

Citrus Berry - Kimbo Kush X Orange Valley OG. I loved the Kimbo I ran last year .. high yielder and big time fire!

Citrus Berry #1 & #2 in the front... DT#2 back left and Chemdawg #1 clone - @ 20 days back right.

Another back up shot.. soon there will be flowers!

Nice early fade on the DT....good indicator on whether the proper level of N put into mix & gives a choice whether to add a bit of N or just let her ride it out. Future is some frosty sh*t. You kill it w/ the EG gear. Did you ever get any of EG's rare Gas Mask (Cherry Pie x Starfighter)? He turned over GM male to his Pacific NW Roots buddy who's big on Alien line. Had to have some so got a PNW Cherry Pit. How far from highest cola top are your LED's in veg & also in flower? Great update bob. :Namaste:

Thanks BL - I have a stash of a bunch of his gear... I don't think I got any Gas Mask tho unfortunately..Right after I ran Blackberry and Kimbo, I went on a splurge ... hahaha.

Yeah on the N and yellowing on the DT... I've already gave her enough in the soil and also top dressed in some more and an N heavy tea with Alfalfa meal and Kelp meal EWC and Mycos. That usually greens things up pretty quick... nada..

Those 2 are going to turn red I think... the clone after cutting, turned red and yellow almost over night and now she's back to all green. I'm thinking genetics at least I hope so. I will give them all some more N heavy tea again tomorrow and see if I can't delay senescence a little more.

All the plants are in the exact same soil and are within a few weeks of each other in flower. I've had some cold nights in the grow room on purpose high 50s a few nights just to see what's what. Those 2 plants turned color almost right away.

They look healthy & green around all the bud sights.... Those early fans are HUGE so if they are giving back to the flowers, we should be in for a treat. Yeah so those fans are 30 days in flower and are like 60 days old so could be genetics... hoping so...a few low down fans already fell off. Pretty early for that but maybe a fast strain... been caught with my pants down before with the fast runners.... I'm ready for for it this run.

Got some nice big ass plants in VEG. Hoping for a BIG spring harvest and take part of the summer off and go fishing. Like I did last year.... :thedoubletake:

Nice Tits brother.

Impressive dicks too.

Some real nice colas for sure, well done.

Hey thanks there CS !! that's too funny... Like I always say....wait.... maybe save that one for later!

Nice,, Keepem Green

Thanks Woody... is that a pic of Mt Hood from your back yard in your profile?? I've seen that view... pretty impressive mtn. and why I don't live there. I've been to Oregon a bunch of times. Love it there .... if it wasn't so far away! I've traveled all around the US .... Oregon and UpState NY ... favorite places so far!

Naw that picture is from Miss J's son place, outta Gresham. Like 15 miles from my house. But I see it everyday I drive down the main street around here, if the weather permits. Sure is a pretty one. Kinds of looms over Portland.. Is a place over there to can see Mount Hood, Mount St Helens, and I think it's Mount Rainier.. The Columbia River Gourge is pretty also. I've been all over myself also,, except up there in the New England states.. Damn Yankees.. JK I seen alot of pictures of the country up there. It's beautiful.
I kind of like Sacramento area about the best for me. A stones throw from San Fransico and Lake Tahoe, I think SF is the prettiest city I've ever been too. And Lake Thoe has got to be one of the prettiest lakes,, Followed closely by Northern Arkansas, Bull Shoals area. But as far as picture perfect veiws, had to be Alaska. As long as I'm on a nice toasty warm curise ship. Alaska takes your breath away.. and makes you feel small.. GL Keepem Green

Hey bob awesome work you do. Thanks for all the good info! Been watching for awhile and was wondering if you use the same soil mix for your veggie garden? I want to mix some up for my mom for cannabis and veggies :) Hope thats okay to ask? I have been wondering awhile... I know its off topic. Thanks again!

There's only a few places that make this stuff.. despite what you would think.... Mykes brand... the company that makes Mykes makes this stuff for everyone else as well. Prices vary WILDLY and not all of the companies list the spore count which is what you want to know. BAS gets the spores from Mykes.. you will be fine.

What I do with the Mykos is sprinkle in the hole and some on the roots @ transplant be it seedlings or plants going into flower.

I use 3 different types and am actually doing an experiment now with all 3:

Myke's - from Premier (same company that makes the peat moss BX that a lot of folks use) - Premier is the parent company I spoke of earlier and Myke's is the brand name they sell it under.

This is the product I just bought recently on Amazon:
PREMIER HORTICULTURE 6009211NPBX Myke 0.9 quart Flower - orange box

I also use:
Wildroot from Wildroot - sourced from Myke's

Also use:
VAM - from Bioag

I've been running and experiment using the different mykos and taking notes and comparing plant health and yields. I will be doing this ongoing for several rounds and see if there's any conclusions I can gleen from this. I'm using all 3... different mixes and by themselves.

I did not know that about Myke. For what it is worth I use Myke veg and herb. Seems to work, hard to tell when I do not recall not using.

Lotta great info in here. I'll be making a N AACT for my tent girls. I've been giving them flower nutes but keep getting pushed back on the flip so they are a little N def.

I'll put some alfalfa meal and kelp meal in the vortex brewer, flip tonight!

Vortex FTW - woot! I've been lazy and just doing the bubble stone deal over the winter and spring... time to get out the big'un and make up a proper tea for the veggies and ladies! Reps you got me excited now... I have MicrobeMans vortex brewer. So simple even I can use it! hahaha

Kelp Meal and/or Alfalfa meal (1/2 of the Kelp Meal you add).. good to go. I've got some LARGE girls in VEG (All of a sudden) and have been watering in re-hydrated and ground up Kelp Meal 1x week... no yellowing so far.

Yea one of my malted grains showed up2day its 2row barley from the site u told me of something homebrewing.org or sumthn like tht lol but yea what does 2 row 4 or 5 or 6 row mean?

2 row vs 6 row is how the Barley grows. The old school European versions... same kinda deal with Cannabis .. we humans have been working with Barley not as long as Cannabis but pretty long.

Here's the diff and its minor..

"The most obvious difference between a head of 2-row barley and a head of 6-row barley is the arrangement of the kernels when the head is viewed down its axis. ... In general, 6-row malted barley has more protein and enzyme content than 2-row malted barley, is thinner than two-row malt and contains less carbohydrate." OK confused...

We want more enzymes for our micro-herd in the soil.. for BEER 2 row is superior, and for ever in Europe thats all they use. Feed the 6 row to the animals ... not a bad thing, they eat the animals and make cheese and milk and all that deal so its a very very good thing. Nowadays there's not a lot of difference anyway .. In the US Coors buys up all the 2 row barley.. kinda sad since they should be making much better beer with primo inputs and if you go to Colorado I'm sure you can get the primo Coors ... food for thought there...eh?

In US we of course brew most of our beer with 6 row.

Weed Snob Alert:

I use the 2 row since it's what the Europeans use in their beer... if it's good'nuf for them well good'nuf for me, problem solved.

It should evoke a more peppery smell and berry flavor with the first puff... then followed by a nice drool... and silliness follows! Another problem solved...

Blaze you will be perfectly fine with the 2 row... it's what I use! Approved an promoted! :thumb:

Oh man the vortex has made life so easy. The aristone setup was a always a pain to clean. I made mine but its just the prototype. I'll make the V2 Saturday at the latest. Hope you don't mind if I post some pics.

I'll have to check out microbmans brewers. What size do you have? I'd love one of those big brewers one day.

Hey I'm going to use that in my AACT for my veg girls, thanks for the recipe! Reps for all the great organic info
