Cottage 420's Organic Perpetual Indoor Garden

Hi Kids... now that Al Capone is cloned and all plants in the can as well as the Cali Dream girls. It's time for the Early Spring round.

I've got 4 plants all the same: From Exotic Genetix The Future - Gorilla Glue #4 x Starfighter F2 - Hybrid 50/50 - Flower cycle: 56-63 Days and +1 = Devils Tit from Snow High.

I've given a peek at them while they were getting mature in earlier posts. I got to slacking and forgot to account for males and my clones taking longer than anticipated so my flower room is on half shift... instead of 10 there's 5 in flower now. About to change this week. All the VEG plants are starting to kick into high gear! <-- see what I did there? :smokin:

The Future; I got 4 females out of 10 seeds (one dud) on this one from Exotic. Good as expected and I'm happy. I have 1 Pheno that is totally off the charts and of course I did not take a clone.. (I don't think). hahaha .. too crowded to check I usually do one of the big ass females in VEG. Hope I did...

The 5th plant in flower (no pics) is Snow High - Devils Tit = Durban Poison x Acapulco Gold x C99

I just put her into the flower room a few days ago... so nothing to report except all of her VEG siblings are looking stellar. Standing out from the crowd. Which is what I look for in VEG. If they cant stand out... well to the compost bin they go! I'm an Organic Farmer not a nurse. Sorry..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So to summarize; This is my soil and grow routine :

Running all organic soil Coots style:

The soil mix:

1 part. Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss
1 part. Aeration (Pearl-lite)
1 part. Compost (Coast of Maine + worm castings + vermicompost home made)

Mixed with:
Acadian Kelp Meal @ 1/2 Cup per cubic foot
Neem Cake and Karanja Cake 2:1 ratio Mix @ 1 cup per cubic foot
Crustacean Meal @ 1/2 Cup per cubic foot
Gypsum Dust @ 1 Cup Per Cubic Foot
Brix Blend Basalt @ 1 Cup Per Cubic Foot
Glacial Rock Dust @ 1 Cup Per Cubic Foot
Oyster Flour @ 1 Cup Per Cubic Foot
Pre-Charged Bio Char @ 1 Cup Per Cubic Foot (not required) can be pre-charged or home made.

I amend at flip with a cup or 2 stirred in the top soil:

EWC + Gypsum + compost + Kelp meal = mix together mostly EWC here, and top water in a compost + ewc + malted grain tea.

After flip teas:

Alfalfa meal tea early (I add in a little malted barley for sugar)
malted grain tea (Organic malted corn/organic malted Barley/ organic malted Buckwheat)
EWC/compost tea (I add in a little malted barley for sugar)

SST - Sprouted seed teas... I've been slacking this due to the results from the Malted grain teas.

Alfalfa sprouts or organic corn (organic pop-corn works), Wheat berries/wheat grass (try some for you it's very very healthy for humans too).

Special teas:

Horsetail Fern Tea - soak and put a jar in the fridge next to the re-hydrated Kelp Meal.

The Horsetail Fern tea sprayed in VEG kicks the PM/mold to the curb before they grab hold in the flowers.
You PAC NW growers this is your ticket along with mold resistant strains. I've found the OG crowd of strains are not that resistant to mold/pm. AKA - Chemdawg and her relatives ... or any strain that gets EXTREME frost... this will help ... also helps in the Veggie/flower garden as well. Horsetail Ferns are a silica source as well. Similar to Pro-Tekt with added benefit.

IPM - I've written tons on my recipe - The important part is Monterrey Spray and the need to spray at least 1x a week and if you have an infestation 2x or 3x a week for 2 weeks minimum.

That's the plan - I work the plan.

Put the ARM in fARMing and we are off for the early spring round.

Flower Party Starts......

This is the The Future #2 - she's the party favorite @ ~ 40 days of ~60

DSCN20727.JPG

Top down view - I left the window open the last few nights - lights off room temp @ 55F - going to get some purps here I think on this one. She's in the front row closest to fans and cool temps. Just starting to see color in the pistols.

DSCN20719.JPG

Lower down Nugz shot - all these buds are in the shadows.... there's a thing called translocation where a plant can move nutrients from one location to another, like us humans and our circulatory system. Even tho the buds are in the shade... look at the frost. This is the best I've done so far regarding trichomes. Another week it's going to get crazy in here.

DSCN20755.JPG

Another low down nugz shot ... the fan leaves are COATED and curling... first for me.

DSCN20748.JPG

This one is The Future # 1 - she's a short pheno and the first one in flower this round. She's just been hanging in getting frosty and frostier.. her color is changing so she's coming down the stretch. Very easy to grow this one is.
Plant ... water ... pretty much it .. I think she's at 50 days of 60ish.

DSCN20767.JPG

Close up of The Future # 1 Shorty Girl. I've found the height is not really an indication of lower yields!

DSCN20709.JPG

The Future # 3 taller and lankier and just starting to stack up the buds.

The Future # 3 closer upper...

The Future # 2 different view - this plant I think has the most trichomes of any cannabis plant I've grown to date... I'm totally impressed. I know the genetics and have been growing them for a few years so I should be able to bring this bad girl and her sisters to the table for a Future Party.

DSCN20646.JPG

VEG room ... there's a party getting started... ohhh yeah. Keepers and some sleepers... who wants to go to the big show?? C'mon girls .... C'mon. Give it to me. :cheer:

More to come.. Devils Tit in VEG is the standing out girls.

Devils Tit:

Devils Tit (Durban Poison x Acapulco Gold x C99)

Devils Tit was named after smoking the seeded mother Durban Poison. The Devil whispered in my ear the name the strain will be named.

Standard bobrown excellence.....Future is looking very special w/ insane frost. Exotic is top flight breeder that I've followed. Making quite a name for themselves. Wish they had some fems. Is the Timber light yellow? Great gardening bob. :Namaste:

Yeah the Future#2 and Future#1 are both under the timer lamp. I have the other on in VEG as you saw from the last pic there ^^^

The color is normal daylight color and the lamp has an potentiometer to adjust the intensity. I have the VEG light about 1/2 way and the flower lamp full on ~15" from the top of #2. It's pretty intense. The Future#2 the top cola has some places where it's totally layered in trichomes (white spots) and there's great penetration and we are seeing the down low inside buds going crazy with frost. I'm totally happy with the results so far.

No fems... for Fem seeds I go to humboldt.. too bad they stopped selling in the USA. I prefer to keep it semi-local, less headache with payments etc.

Early Jan I got my CC number hijacked for $5K buying seeds from the EU .... took me 10 business days to get my money back. Lesson learnt. Not doing that again. I was in the middle of getting new roof on the house and had a shit ton of money in my account to pay for roof... then returned check debit card hijack.... wow... that freaking sucked ... drama... I hate drama.

All good now tho.. thinking of getting another set of the Timber lamps. They are very efficient.

I prefer to keep it semi-local

I do that as well, a local exchange, got my last order in one day after shipping. I never had my cc get taken for that much, yikes!

I am running my timber lights with the dimmer in the middle about 50%. It is doing well so I do not want to screw with it but I am tempted to turn it up as my flowering progresses.

I am using the tungsten light setting on my camera ( i think is is 3000k ?) It seems to look best to me. good greens.
My cobs are 3500k. I have been meaning to look in the camera manual kind of shootin'in the dark.

here have a looky at a tiny piccy or 2 : - ) Happy Day!

Ive never had my CC taken for a bunch since I keep very low limits....I cant be trusted with more :p However, back when cell phones were huge and you could get cards from your land line carrier to use in payphones, I got a monthly bill for well over $22,000. I nearly shit. At first the phone company wanted me to validate every single call that wasnt mine individually, but they finally let me do it by the page...oh, and as an after thought they shut off the card. My next months bill was only $6000 >.<

I'm really digging my Timber lamps... I'm running the 300 Watt Vero29 V7 ... frost is getting frost on frost. So good I ordered 2 more!

Results results. Thanks KB for getting into Timber....

Hear ya on the keeping it local for seeds. I was having trouble getting Dark Devil seeds here in the USA so went to another un-tried by me seed bank... I was stupid. Got that "I need to buy" impulse buy feeling that I never get an should have stepped back away from the keyboard right then.

I did get my money back + extra.... not sure why but hey ... glad I could handle the missing coin for 2+ weeks. Visa rocks just don't be an asshole when asking for help. Also had to go visit my bank branch manager to get this fixed which is a good thing. Still felt like I needed to take a shower after... kinda like going to see a lawyer.

I'm waiting for him to hit me up for some weed! hahahaha ... you know when there's that un-talked about connection. He can see stuff about my transactions I cant see so he knows what I was trying to do when I got hit. He politely didn't ask me about it, which was cool.

Hey there KB I got a Pokey sighting there :thumb: ... one of my best friends his nic-name is Gumby. Very nice props.

Was researching cobs recently and timber pops up alot. Are the cobs worth the money in your opinion for just a 4x4 flower tent vs hps?? Heat and using extra electric to cool down the room have been an issue for me during summer

Yeah that was back in the day... I've been working on the internet since 1980.. yes it was around then and just as fast as today for consumers. There was no security (to mention) AT ALL.. I worked in the banking industry as a service provider in data and ACH transfers (BIG money transfers). I got a lot of stories.... a few thousand... ain't nothing, I'm sure stupid shit is still happening.

Think accountant hijack - lets fly to the Caribbean stories. The feds were worried more about the War on Drugs... they lost hahahaha.

One thing that is still the same.. people are crazy ... crazy about money. We have meds for that, thanks God. :Rasta:

Yes 100% on the COBS the V29 version. You can see from the last pic update I posted .... its top shelf. Finally getting some true benefit from LEDs - these are very efficient. Thats the challenge with lighting an indoor garden; efficiency. More light and less heat.

Like I posted earlier I just ordered 2 more of the V29 cob setups ... going to be no more fans built into the lamp in my flower room.

Here you can see it in action in my VEG room... that room is cool...with very minimum circulation - no open windows and no heating all I'm running is a small window fan on exhaust.

I replaced a 1000 watt HID that I always ran dimmed to 60% (so about 600 watts) with a 600 watt CXB setup from Timber and I have to run it dimmed to keep temps the same as my HID. With the Timber lights our drivers are inside of the tent and those are the main heat sources with a COB setup. It would be worth it to ask Dan if he could give you enough wiring to run the drivers outside of the grow then you could run them full power with no issues.

Hi bob! Long time no see and I'm pleasantly surprised once again! Good call on the Veros, great bang for the buck! The frosty leaves are looking splendid! I need to save up lil more to buy me some Citizen COBs. What a month this would be! Lovely! :bravo: :thanks:

 :Namaste:

Thats a great idea about the extra wiring.... I haven't noticed the power supplies getting hot, I know they do just haven't put my hand on them to test. It will become more of a challenge once the weather starts warming up. You can see in the pick the power supply is attached to the side of the frame. Thats a basic ac/dc power pack, I know how to wire them. I can add in a longer wire of mount them outside of the flower area easy enough.

I just put my hand on the power supply to the Vero29s... they are warm to the touch so not bad.

Temps in flower room were cold last night (low to mid 50s bring on the purps). I will see how it is later today. I've got a lot of transplanting into final containers from plants in VEG ..... next round going to be in full bloom here in a few.

Hey there T thank you for the kind words... I'll take a peak at the Citizen COBs not sure what they are. I'll be heading over to your grow soon... you about to harvest some more??

Cheers!

Hello - all our products are custom builds - if you would like to mount your drivers remotely to mitigate heat in the growing area, that is no problem. We are happy to customize the length of the wire leads from the COBs to the power supply to help with this. There of course is no additional charge - just let us know what your requirements are. If you need anything else, please feel free to let me know.

Regards,
Dan
