Cottage 420's Organic Perpetual Indoor Garden

Those are another batch of beauties from your auto pilot garden. That top pic is world class pot pic....perfect. What do you attribute the late bloom claw in the big fans? Don't look overfed so is it just end of life plant "fatigue"? This type of clawing is different than N overfed leaves where only the tip curls & claws. I get it on some & not on others...even in the same grow. Not a big deal....just wondering. Great gardening bb.
:goodjob: :Namaste:

That strain that's clawing... they do that every time. I've tried everything... I think it's just the genetics. We can see the rest of the garden is green and everything is the same for all the ladies. Its all good .. those plants trim themselves ... really. There's not many fans left at chop and very little to trim. Cut the buds off and into the jars... they are bright green jarred up and sparkly too! Berry smell with a touch of dankness and fuel, good stuff.

Initially I thought it was N deficiency and adding on more N in VEG close to switch works but just prolongs the inevitable yellow and claw. If they stay green longer I get better yield so they probably are N greedy.

Damn that sativa looked kind of ripe from what I could see. Looks nice for 9 weeks. Pretty buddage. I like that alot of them purples, as they tend to smoke sweeter... Sounds like you've grown these out abit before... GL and Keepem Green

Hey there Woody.... yeah that's pretty typical for the Mandala gear. I've been running that for a few years. Always good meds and easy to grow.. newbs get all hung out on the yellowing... OMG yellow leaves.. must get CalMag...

I think those 2 are mainly sativa and after several rounds of cloning I guess I picked a few leaning heavily toward the sativa side but not really that much different. Just not quite as green as they used to be this late in flower. They are ripe for sure but are putting out fox tails now and throwing more pistols = added weight. Only worry is bud rot or dare I say mold. I've been checking daily. First sign of boytrus and they get the chop. I've actually never had any Mandala gear give me any of that trouble at all. Says something about the genetics and careful breeding.

Yeah I'm right at 9 weeks and actually chopped one of them today. I got tired of thinking this bitch is going to take me to 100+ days and make me freaking waiting her out. Not going to happen.

I hang the girls upside down to dry whole plant and it smells like someone spilled a bottle of acetone... If I didn't know it was a plant I'd be worried.

I could have left her go tho after looking at the plant upside down! hahaha

I have another girl ready to get her flowers on right now and is impatiently waiting in VEG for 2 1/2 months and is about 28" tall. She's loaded with pre-flowers and gritting her teeth at me every time I go and water her. I've actually had a male in the VEG room with her. He's spread his goodness a little bit. So maybe I'll finally have some seeds.

these 2 in question are Mandala FarOut - I figured it out the other day since I forgot to label the clones... I do that all the time!

Mandala FarOut - Columbian Sativa/Haze x Blueberry

The male in VEG is Al Capone - I picked the lanky largest one and I have another in a secret location that is the bushy Pheno still in VEG. All the ladies in Flower room have been asking about the secret male.

So possible seeds:

Farout = (Columbian Sativa/Haze x Blueberry) X Al Capone = ((El Diablo x WiFi 2) x Wonk$tar (La Confidential x MK Ultra) x (Chem4 Alien OG))..

I'm getting ready to hose her down before going into flower room.

I just bought some SnowHigh gear yesterday, here's my selections:

Snow High Seeds - Thunder Bolt

Snow High Seeds - Devil's Tit

Snow High Seeds - Purple Mexican Thai

also picked up another pack of Kimbo Kush... my favorite pretty much ... yields and meds are the some of the best and I'm also liking Chemdawg... but I like to mix in my Sativa for a less laid back hazy daze.

And without futher dew.... mini update:

Al Capone close up; this is one of the ladies I've got going. She's a brute. Shit ton of big hairy colas... she's taking over.

As we can see here, her old fan leaves are just starting to turn color and give back the stored up nutrients in those big leaves as they are starting to turn color and will eventually drop off. Getting the look of Cheese here.... I think.

DSCN1971_2_1.JPG

She kinda looks like a queen here.... step back view... many many colas - I have a few of these going and clones - Sea of Green in my future... these are growing and maturing pretty fast and looking like the 60 days or so as advertised. Overall I'm very happy with this strain ... can't wait to try it.

Here's a close up of the Mandala FarOut mainly sativa hybrid I just chopped:

Far out view! Nice colors... the buds in the jar will all be bright green.

Chemdawg Purp clone 1 - she's right at 65 days and about finished:

Chemdawg again close up pic:

Chemdawg another... different genetics from the purps version - she's HUGE - the lamp is at my eye level ~67" tall here... she'd have grown larger IF my lamps went higher:

Another view:

I've got some more ladies in flower but they are just getting flowers....

Chemdawg - purps clones X3
Al Capone from seed X2 - they get pretty big just starting to show flowers @ +2x stretch... OH my!

I have a handful of plants in VEG right now (The Future) ... no sex showing yet so more to come there. I'll do a VEG and clone update here in a few...

Happy new year! May The Future stay green! :Namaste:

Very pretty plants. And nice pics.. I like the look of the Mandala FarOut myself,,, but that Chemdawg wood sure make a pretty SOG...

What R/H are you running? I haven't seen a hint of any mold spores since I made sure she don't go over 50%. Winter here,, and I'd imagine there too,,, so R/H shouldn't be a factor. Yea she is throwing out some fox tails.. But like you said,, weight. Them last 2 weeks are bread and budder times. That's why I tend to flush abit later than most. I shoot for 5 days min of molasses water after a 'HEAVY' flush. Heavy I mean I flush with atleast 2 gallons run off per gallon soil. These little flood tables I have make that pretty easy. But that's the plan,, but I always end up leaving them flower longer like 7-10 days after. I hate to take their food when they are really going hard that last 2 weeks...

Looking good Keepem Green

Thanks Woody... PH.. I use RO water so I don't worry.. whatever RO water is probably neutral 6.5 last time I checked. I'm more interested in PPMs, anything over 15 ppm I change the filter!! hahaha I live in a east coast city... tap water kills plants in containers... probably not healthy for human consumption either! yikes... I drink the RO water and cook with it too. Last time I checked the PPMs of the tap water is was like 400+ and I had no idea what was in it so RO filtered, problem solved. RO Buddy FTMFW!

Yeah foxtails usually make me think right away of mold.... but yeah this time of year no worries.. nothing over 50% RH and nothing humid for extended time. I do have a pretty tight flower room so I keep the air moving ... not a lot of mold spores floating around this time of year but late fall ... it's everywhere. So those spores are here... nothing we can do about it - grow plants with good genetics.

Flood tables... ahhhh man that's music to my ears. Next tear down I will build them in... yeah you right!

You're spot on ... last 2 weeks = take a leap of faith let the fox tails grow hope/prey there's no mold. Last few plants I had none and mild fox tails. With this last Sativa this round I'm taking a chance for bigger yield. I have one on the hook and this one in the pot. I keeping the RH at a healthy 30%-45% ... Fox Tails a growin and getting bigger every day.

It comes down to risk vs reward.. as it always does, right?

That and my VEG plants are looking to get into the starting lineup!

cheers and happy new years - may all your greens stay green and purple, you and the family / friends remain healthy and happy!

Happy New Year BB!

Just wanted to drop in and wish you and yours well. Thank you for journaling and helping me out so much. I really wanted to give you guys a shout out since it's so beneficial to have your input and participation. Even tough I may not comment often I'm always around and lurking lol. Travels and busy work keeps me from being too active but I learn so much from all these great journals.

Anyway, just a quick shout out and your girls are AMAZING!

Thanks you all for all the kind words.. I've had well a challenging holiday season.

Challenging my spirit coming from darkness that I did not expect and I found that choosing kindness, hope and love showed me a better path for the new year. So that's my plan and I'm sticking to it. :Namaste:

The 2 great motivators:

Love & Hate

The path from each is VAST and long. I choose love, I will keep doing do for the rest of my days.

My path has lead me here. For that I am grateful and to you fine folks also I am grateful.

I wish everyone much love and prosperity and good bountiful harvests in the upcoming year and beyond.

Update... yeah you right!

Al Capone - she's getting close... going to let those big fans fall off.. and they are at a fast pace too!

Chemdawg clone of the Purps version... she's got all 3 leaves and looks like a re-veg.

I'm a little Chemdawg short and stout.
Here is my flowers
Here is my stalk.

When I get all steamed up,
Hear me shout!

Just tip me over
And puff me out!

This is the Sativa hybrid clone I've been running for a while now. FarOut from Mandala.

I chopped her this morning and she's going to be a brute. Her sister was 3 zips dried. She's got that beat by a good margin, guessing 5 zips dried. oooooh ooooh. I'm excited. Those Mandala gear just keep getting better and better... hard to understand that ... I'm getting my soil dialed in and these plants are loving it.

Chemdawg short and stout
pretty cool, maybe it is my eyes but they seem electric around the edges.

Mandala, I wanna grow some. But I am waiting for now to grab seed stock.

I will finish my re-amendment this month. Get something new going, still got some ace seeds gear to use.(fems this year)
prolly start a new journal in/for '17

I am finding little bits of peace, here and there in my life. lots of work ahead for me...:Namaste:

Thanks Rad for the kind words... you know I'm only posting pics of the big flowers. I've got my share of little ones and under achievers. I just put 10 seeds into soil that I paid a pretty dear penny for and all the seedlings are not doing very well.

They are alive with little vigor...not good enough ... I'm miffed a little but I'm letting the little ones go and give them a fighting chance.

By fighting chance I mean rough them up some. I have some re-veg clones (cuttings with flowers) that are growing faster than the seedlings.. They can take months to get going and never really take off.

Yeah so right now I'm short one pot in the flower room - tomorrow I will be short maybe 2 or 3 more pots with VEG girls not sexed and not ready. I was slacking there ... probably fall harvest making me fat, happy & lazy I guess. Good not good, what was I thinking.

This next round will be critical as its the spring run. I want to shut down in August so we can get outta here for a while and go fishing.

I've got several plants almost ready to go into flower but they are not sexed yet cept for one male. Usually the males are last to show....
scratch head... and some clones that are taking a LONG time to get going.

Yeah so I don't always take pics of the everyday goodness in the garden. It's easy to focus on the big flowers and let the rest catch up.

We live in a home built in the early 1900s, we have the flower room on the 3rd floor. It's just much easier and more stealth that way. At least I tell myself that. We just set up a watering system that all I have to do now is turn on a valve once a month, fill the 60 gal reservoir and call it done. I'm excited about that. Next up is working on electricity. I've got some knob and tube that will carry 20 amps no problem since its 12ga solid copper but no ground. I've got to take that shit out and run another circuit to the flower room (for new lamps).

I've got 2 15 amp circuits one is the 14ga romex with ground that can handle 15amps (1800 watts) and the other I don't use for lighting is the 12ga 2 wire knob and tube. Shame really that knob and tube stuff is heavy duty... just can't put insulation on top of it.

If you are struggling with plants in Veg, it must be a new strain for you. Probably one that other growers find challenging too.

I've almost had my fill with unsexed seeds. I downsized to a smaller setup and one male leaves a gap in the flow of plants. It's OK. I'll be lighting cloned girls soon. Yet, when I think I'm done with unsexed seeds, I run across those Tangerine White Widow crosses that popped up in my grow room, and I have to try them.

Finding all the knob and tube and upgrading is a challenge for me. Previous owners of the 1896 house have installed hybrid circuits. 20 amp circuit breakers, a mix of 10, 12 and 14 guage wires feeding a mix of 2-prong, 3-prong, and knob and tube. Virtually none of the ground wires are correctly tied all the way to the wall outlets, and half the junctions are hidden behind walls. A mess. My grow area is on a single 20-amp, 12 guage with working ground. Currently I'm drawing under 1000 Watts, with plans to max out around 1800W.

I have 1100W max surround sound amp plugged into the grow area circuit right now. I have connected six 110W 8ohm speakers in 3 rooms operating as 3 stereo zones. At normal listening volumes, It "feels" like I am outputting less than 100W total to all 6 speakers. But I don't know enough about stereo amps to really know the draw.

Are you (or others on this thread) familiar enough with electricals to recommend an inexpensive way to measure amperage? Preferably at the circuit breaker box.

A kill-a-watt meter would be enough to measure my stereo amp, but I'd prefer to measure at the breaker box for general home safety checks.

Tracing the wiring, and calculating loads, even after removing many open circuits, is a mess and guesswork.

I love the pic of your, FarOut from Mandala. And your remark about getting better and better. I always tell peoples,,, the more you grow one strain,, the better she'll become. If you like the first grow of a strain, its worth doing it again with all the mental notes you have from the first. Now I have a ? I don't do reading,, but I seen your first page and you was using that slimy ass nasty shit Earth Juice. Are you still. Shit ruin half my 5 gallon buckets........ JK NOT. I had problems myself with it. Some strains couldn't get enough outta them even with some suppliments. I know it wood make great tea workings,,, the slime tells ya that. It's pure shit..... I bought a gallon of bloom and took it home,,, I needed a paint shaker to break it up.... I guess it was older stock... I gave it to a friend,,, after throwing my shoulder out trying to mix it........... GREAT pictures,, and Better looking buddage.. Keepem Green

Thanks Woody...

Hahaha... yeah no earth juice... I gave that up a long time ago when I did not know what I was thinking... An old friend of mine asked me a question... "What fertilizer do you use on the outdoor gardens?" ... my answer was DUH... worm castings and composted kitchen scraps. I don't use fertilizer on my veggies ....... there's my answer.

Problem Solved.

Do you need any of that shit... I don't know how to get rid of it safely??

I'm thinking about using it for weed killer hahahahaha. I actually like weeds so wouldn't even put that shit on my outdoor weeds.

Just sayin...

Thought I'd pop over to say thanks for your help over at Mr A's place. I'm in a much happier place about his plants. Thanks again. :)

Oh yer most welcome... I've been thinking and sleeping on your issues... the only thing that comes to mind is problems with lighting. Plants that start to loose photosynthesis with leaves that whiten, it's usually because they aren't getting proper lighting or it's senescence.

I'd reset the timer... rotate it and be sure its working and set it for the proper time and come and check the flower room when the lights "should" be on.

Yes I totally agree.... I'm running a new strain this round that is giving me issues... taking WAY too long in VEG and not showing sex.. I set the lighting back a bit to 18/6 in VEG instead of the 20/4 I usually use. Did that in a few stages like adding an hour over a week time frame... getting like 3 males for every female... I run the usual from Clones but I've been slacking for some reason and am finding the ladies outpacing me and my VEG routine. I think it's mainly the strains in flower are shorter photo-period plants. I usually run 75 day strains and these last few rounds were 60-65 day strains and didn't start my clones and seeds soon enough so I'm behind again.

If you're listening to the stereo at normal volume its going to be hard to eat up 100w at least in sound output. I'd plug the Kill-o-watt thing in to where your stereo is plugged in and see what its drawing. The solid state gear is pretty efficient.. very efficient actually you will be surprised.
I run tube amps all single ended - they are full blast with no sound and actually do less work with music playing. That's the opposite of solid state gear. Solid State can idle all day and not hardly do any work at all.

Speakers are "rated" for maximum watts... that's a throwback to when we were in the hay day of solid state gear (late 60s and 70s) when all the manufacturers where making monster amps putting out 100-200 watts/channel ... They needed speakers to be able to handle someone accidentally turning up the volume too high!

Now a days all the gear "in general" have switch mode power supplies unless you spend BIG money. They do not use up the wattage like back in the day... turn up the stereo and the lights dimm.... yikes!

Rad I'd just plug that kill-o-watt meter in at the wall where the stereo is plugged in and turn it up and watch the meter.
