Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed Stock

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Congrats Conrad, this journal and the land race journal are two of my favorites. I'll post a couple of pics here soon updating my first outdoor grow.

hey grey i had one that didn't like being right under the light even if i raised it,it still preferred to be on the edge of it hey whatever they want rite lol!

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

I would say yes. I know it brings out the colors. I lowered my night time temps to 68 F and it has changed the smells for sure. I know ACE recommends lowering flowering temps to 20 C for like the last 4 weeks of flower on their Kali China to increase trichome and terpene production.

Hmm interesting, it confirms what I was suspecting was true for cannabis. I mean it's no-brainer, in lower temperature cannabis has much more wiggle room. Flower density, trichomes and terpenes are easier to achieve. I sun depped Aurora Ultra once in 2015, she was mostly blooming through a heatwave and it changed the smell completely. If harvested in September she has very interesting bouquet of lemon and gas/mushroom, a cross between OG and classic Kush smell, but when sun depped in very high temps she smelled like vinegar and didn't really come out better than full season one.

It seemed to increase the terpenes for myself along with bringing out the colors. It's supposed to help speed them up a bit as well, but I've not noticed whether it did or not.

I don't know about the speed, I think the only way to do it is to cut the photoperiod.

Along the same lines, when I was in full production it seemed that late blooming plants were happier with lower light intensity, too.

Anyone else have that feeling? :hmmm:

Some varieties supposedly do better in shade than in full sun and some just don't tolerate high temps, they just won't collaborate. The same thing can be probably observed indoor.

Thx, man.

And you listened I guess and left her in the corner, right? It's good to see the plant showing you things. We just cannot do better than look and adjust to their needs.

Here's an update from The Northern Slope, which you've been probably waiting for :)

Manipuris are slow to react to September photoperiod, they look like they're about to flower, but not just yet. Big plants and they will be bigger!

This small F3 UD planted a little bit later. This one has red pistils, interesting feature.

And this is Chem pheno of UD.

Two pics of a smaller UD that is growing next to it. It's all very dense there, plant next to a plant.

And this is fast flowering OG pheno with very dominant Aurora Ultra features (F2 or F3), leaf and bud shape are identical.

hey i was wondering about those manipuri's how long the flower period is I'm thinking there going to go to the end of october at least do you still have good growing conditions into november?

Mother is from 2015, but she definitely looked good. Rain turned the tables though, that for sure :passitleft: :)

Well let's estimate, landrace sativas at my latitude take usually 10-12 weeks, but only when they're triggered by the end of August. That sets the harvest around 2nd-3rd week of October. But if they're starting to flower now or they will in a week or something like that, we'll see harvest around early to mid November, in worst case around early December

Looking nice! Those manipuri look like they are pushing 7-8ft!

Yep a bit over 7 feet now, which means they're gonna be around 10-13 feet when they finish :smokin2:

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Great to see that they did so well through the temps with little water. The AU mom has thinner leaf fingers than her pedigree suggest. Huge fans on the Manis, such an interesting and beautiful strain. Hope she's a great surprise of potent sativa goodness. :thumb:

You hitting her with an AU male?

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Very nice Con! I always love your pics.

Do you think smaller plants flower sooner?

And about this milk spray. Do you think I should rinse it off? Some spots still have a milky sort of crust and the buds are starting to fill in...?

Yeah that's the plan, unfreeze the pollen and hit Mani and CG '72 when they're ready, which means at least few weeks from now. If it's still viable I'd get two lines with strong landrace sativa traits, but shorter flowering time and bigger yield. This male passes very fruity bubblegum smell onto his children, which is a bonus. Let's hope it's gonna happen.

As far as the traits that AU passed there's a consistent genotype that has the same height and structure, but different bud formation and smell, different high too. The wide leaf plants fall on the father I guess. I never saw this plant though, however this particular bubblegum male popped up in F1 and I feel he most likely represents wide leaf traits and fruity/chemical smells that UD has.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Awesome journal conradino. I see why you won the award this month. Those outdoor plants look gorgeous. I know they give pretty good yield too! Tons of growing and genetics info in here I've got to get out my pen and pad!
Not sure about the yield. I don't think it's gonna be that great, but who knows? With their long bloom my hoping is that at least I'm gonna see the harvest and will manage to get F1 seeds. They are hardy, so they should get through the weather and I can get some fleece if it gets cold in November.

You can definitely rinse it. Did it work for PM?

As far as size is concerned I don't think it matters for flowering time.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Yeah I'll rinse tomorrow. Some if them are pretty caked.

Did I mention it's a cheese strain? Ha ha.

Thanks for the photo update Conradino.

I just love seeing them growing out amongst the wild like this. You're raising some absolute beauties there. .

It didn't hurt your plant and it might've helped more than with PM, so it's all good. Let me know how she's progressing, PM has tendency for coming back unfortunately.

Thanks for the photo update Conradino.

Thx a lot, yeah wilderness is what I operate with here :)

I'm smoking Colombian Gold, such a lovely sativa high... you just lose chain of thought/task easily :)

Conrad, I promised an update, forgive me this is the first time I've posted pics on someone's thread. This grow started June 15th, and it's taught me a lot. I mixed up some of Doc's soil recipe (about 26 dry gallons of ProMix, earthworm castings, but have realized I was a little bit "light" on the amendment. Anyway, the little gal is a Skunk1 auto fem from GYO and it's all of about 4-5 inches tall (Ruderalis pheno perhaps?). She smells great though!

The two sativa looking gals are from KCBrains and they're called Cristal Paradise (Cal Big Bud Skunk X a Brazilian male). I combined two 7 gallon smart pots (making approx. 14 gallons) and transplanted those into that (long story). One of them is making buds and the other is still stretching.

Last but not least is an Afghan from Spliff, and this little thing just won't start flowering yet. I don't know what she'll end up doing. It's fun, I'm keeping pretty good notes (another thing I've learned) and I read Doc's instructions regularly. Those big pots make it hard to drench though, so I'm not "drenching" like the instructions say on this grow.

That's it for now, Wfb
