Just helped my friend out with these hemp russet mites. Whole room infested and thought we were having root zone problems hard to diagnose but you know when you see that bronzing. We used avid and foliar sprayed at 1ml a gallon. 1 time its been 30 days scoped the plants everyday and nothing lived. Many other perhaps safer ways to go about it but avid worked for us and I highly doubt the 1ml of avid per gallon of water is going to hurt the end product 3 months from now. Or give us cancer not like the sun and everything else doesn't do it already. Just don't wait on those things do something fast there numbers grow like crazy and for as small as they are they just sit around and poke holes in your leaves all day!

Green Cleaner works real well on Hemp Mites.. Alot less toxic than avid.. I had them last years outdoor grow.. And the plants were over 10'. But It knocked them out when sprayed with a atomizer.. GL and whatch out for them.. They are ruff... Keepem Green

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Some news here. My UD showed sex finally and it's a male... unless I see pistils springing from this pre-flower tomorrow. This is an indica male which is impossible to tell before he pops balls cause in early veg he grows exactly like a female, very stocky with short internodes, wide leaves and he also gives off a lot of stink, which usually confuses hell lot of me. And yeah, here I've been betting on a female. Well one less male in the field I guess. Tomorrow I'm replacing it with another UD which has been forced to flower too. This just might be a female, but who knows? :smokin2:

Hey C!
What do you think about air pots? Are they better than regulars? I guess its more watering..
:smokin:

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Hope you don't mind be spout out Con... But them air pots do have agreat design that does what they claim,,, air pruning roots.. They do make a great root mass capital of supporting a big fat lant with fat ass colas. One thing bout them air pots on the down side,,, is they are harder to water.. Or least to leave the water in the soil long enough for it to wick it all up.. Other words it tends to left a dry spot dead center of you soil.. Drip pans 100% at watering.....
Hey Con,,, glad to here you got one of my favorites,,,, Star.... You got it from sensie seeds? Man thats a good plant,,, one of my all time favorites... Last ones I grew,, flowered in 52 days..... GL and Keepem Green

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Yeah I like air-pots a lot, air pruning is a very cool thing. Basically when tap root and the rootlets hit the bottom or side holes in the air-pot, they are exposed to the air, which dries them up stimulating new lateral growth from the middle. The effect is a root full of small feeders that occupy whole pot. I've been using them for few years now and I typically see plants stimulated just few hours after repotting. Growing strong root takes very little time and plants can use nutrients in a much more efficient way. More oxygen also contributes to better bacterial growth, which is important in organic grow. Do you see this green, lush colour on my plants? I partly owe it to air-pots for sure.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

I really like the 'smart pots' myself.. Same principles. Same pain in the ass to water... You have to be prepared to stand there for afew minutes to water... WOW that's alot of work... But I love the root system they provoke. When you pop open them pots,, they are solid root mass, giving you grow the plant long enough in them... You can grow a hell nice plant in a 7 gallon pot. Small update on my sun dep plants.

CG '72 is in third week of 11/13, but hasn't shown sex yet. Pretty plant though and sure looks like a female.

In the meantime another UD has also been planted in the air-pot. I tossed two males BTW. It's quite stinky, but might be another male judging from the structure. We'll see in few days I guess.

Hey conrad! Good news, i have two saved UD's. I also have some nice pics of them. The first one i put out on April 8th. That might have been a tad early because its starting to bud, woo hoo a beautiful female!!!! The other one i saved from my flower tent and put it outside, it was only in flower for 5 days before i put it outside but it does have a small russett mite issue. Ive sprayed everything with some Powerwash and i will treat it next week with neem oil until no more mites. Here are some pics buddy.

Great job, man. Just get rid of the mites and you have some bud come September + good material for cloning :thumb:

It's not that you put her outside too early, I start plants as early as February and never have an early budding. It's just your photoperiod indoor was long, probably you had them on 16/8 or 18/6, which means as soon as it's cut to natural one your plants will flower. UDs usually start blooming around 1st or 2nd week of August on 45N with 14,5 to 14 hrs of light.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

I don't like to throw them out, myself, mid-late May or 1st of June to be sure. Large enough plants that they can fend off snails and some wind or rain. 18"? Thats from a 16/8 lighting. Now from seed, I'm not sure if they wood continue to veg normally. Alot of them heavy sativas have to veg for acouple months before they even become a adult and flower. Stuff with that 12/12 equator type shit.Alot of people like to throw out 3' plants way early for a seconary harvest. That is if you can play with the lighs abit. Them hemp mites,, yikes.. Hope you got them suckers under control.. I've read Hemp mites were furture south than here,, but all the clones coming north are spreading them suckers here.. I tell,, like you cannaruss, they blindsided me. Hey Con these things are small, they have alot of places to hide and once the herd get big,, it triples everyday. Them you figgure it out,, they are everywhere.. Like trichomes on a bud thick. That's them on the edges of infected plants makes it look white. Looks like you got afew up and running Con.. Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Well Con,,, the UD#2#3 are getting alittle hungry in the seed pots... Time to givem a new home for a minute. For now I'm looking at 2 apiece.. Least I should get a female. You seen the hype on picking female seed from a big pile of regualr seed,, lets see if I'm blessed... I've had fair luck maybe 70%. It's going to be a ruff year my friend. Everyone gets harder. I should downsize.... Na
I only had room for 6 plants on that shelf, and I have 2 auto's going.. I'm going to throw the auto's out in the sun pretty soon.. After this rain?? But sun is coming.. I'm looking forward to seeing some killer plants this year.. Did I read you got some stock aminute ago?
Ok I gottem in thier new home.. Later Keepem Green

There are definitely benefits to being single but with love there is no comparison. Wouldn't gardening be boring if everything came out perfect without problems? Sorry I'm done...

I just came back from Tuscanny, I had a pretty hectic weekend. Plants are fine, I think I have two Manipuris breaking the ground too. I'll have to water tomorrow, it rained but pots are dry. For me problems usually occur when I leave some males behind. Otherwise it's just occasional hurricane that may hurt my grow.
