Conradino23 Keeps On Keeping On Outdoor & Indoor Using LOS/High Brix Methods

No definitely not Mg and probably not Ca, cause my soil is full of it. I'm gonna keep her under different LED and we'll see if this thing progresses. I also moved COb up a bit. Maybe I underestimated its power.

I try to keep my lights at least 15 in or so above the canopy sometimes I have to move a plant just a little away from the light so its not directly under it when I put those plants in from outside the lights and heat burnt the crap out of them they were to tall for my indoor now with this new tent which is 80in tall im going to have to keep my plants at about 3 1/2 to 4ft. or less!

Hmm it seems it's a common problem with Cree COBs. They say 18-24" is optimal distance, not 12" like with my GROwant. That's way farther from the light than I thought.

To me LEDs are alot different than I'm used to.. But I do see alot of people light bleaching buds white, from being to close to them. The lower heat tends to make a person want to put closer to the light? Like said I ain't ever really tried mines cept half-assed..... But I am going to grow acouple under it this time.. Now that I'm hemp mite free.. I hope?

That’s likely it then. It does look like classic light burn.
Oh no... I'm sayin it looks like light burn... not Cal.
Sorry.... sometimes I need an editor.
I knew what you meant Tead... you did say cal. def. was a diff. look ;)

There is a lot less to manage outdoors hey Con!? I’m in the process of starting some autos in the tent and then moving them outside. I suppose I should train them to the different spectrum slowly and give them daylight hours bit by bit before they get left out permanently. I’m hoping the transition from QB to sunshine won’t be stressful for them. (Need that :nervousguy: emoji here!)

Before you posted the burnt leaf I was going to say that the Red Diesel is looking lovely. Beautiful structure and poise :yummy:

Just to be on the safe side,,,, next time your at a nursery,,, pick up some bone meal and add to the mix. Bonemeal also is good food source for the microbial herd, and slow release form of Ca.. I like to mix a bag of bone meal with a bag of blood meal 50/50. That blood meal also throws some instantly released nitrogen to the mix.. GL My friend...

I used to throw some bonemeal in and it works great if used early, cause it has a very slow release. But for the last couple of seasons I've been sticking to low potassium fish meal as my main source of nitrogen and phosphorus. It's mostly calcium nitrate and calcium phosphate, so perfect combination as these three boost each other, but it's also rich in amino acids, which are great for microbes.

Cobs and boards are intense.

Yeah much more than I expected. Now I get why people want these Cree chips. They're powerful and the draw is so small!

I raised the COB and moved the plant farther a bit. Now the canopy is around 20" from the light.

Y QB's stay around 24" above the canopy, seems to be the sweet spot.

I'm gonna have to work on it. If Purple Sherbert gets burnt with this distance I'm gonna move her farther away.

Yeah it's the low heat output, that catches you by surprise. This is only 55W chip, but the spectrum of this stuff is much different from HPS. It's much closer to summer sun with a lot of blue, red, far red and UVB, especially that I got a 3000K version, while HPS generates a lot of green, which is why it's so bright for human eye, but it's less PAR effective.

That’s likely it then. It does look like classic light burn.

Outdoor is so simple in comparison!

Red Diesel has a great structure indeed and is the most vigorous plant in my tent! She loved the sun too! I hope this burn is just a minor setback, she'll get better quickly and produce for me :)

If you get them to close you actually lose penetration. With QB anyway.

Yeah I know. They say that about LEDs. Especially with big plants you want the light farther away to cover the whole canopy.

I was just checking the leaves on Pink Sherbert, which I put directly under COB and I think I can see some minor bleaching, so that'd be definitely the light. But she's farther away and if she doesn't get burnt I'll keep this distance until they're slightly bigger.

youll get it dialed it just takes time to get used to a different way of growing im still figuring new things out all the time it can get to be quite a science outdoors the sun does all the work!

I caught this ladybug outside today. I hope she's gonna take care of spider mites ;)

So here's a full update for you guys!

This is Red Diesel, which stopped bleaching as soon as I put it under GROwant LED. And she doesn't show new burn spots anymore. All in all it was a good call.

And this is Pink Sherbert after a few days under COB. With a current distance from the light she's doing quite well.

And here's Honeysuckle, which sprouted 6 tops after fimming, so it's gonna be a rather bushy canopy. She's the slowest so far, but this is obviously too early to say anything.

And last but not least the young Dosi-D, which recuperates quickly after fimming.

The tent looks like that atm.

:smokin:

Not time for a flip yet. They'll get a few more weeks of veg, so I can get a decent yield from them. And I'm waiting for Dosi-D to get bigger too.

I heard Honeysuckle stretches a bit, which is ok for me, cause my tent is big enough for tall plants.
