Come Grow With Me: A Beginners Guide

Good Advice there on the lighting. I love the TSW 2000's. 300 watts at the wall & can do up to a 4' x 4' area. My favorite light out of all the different lights I've owned.
They caught my eye for next grow 100%

Ah crap my bad. I thought we were discussing on @Ljb1 's thread. Totally filled a page of this journal. My apologies @Buds Buddy. What happens when you're on here whilst trying to setup a CMMS at the same time. Sorry bud.
No problem. Glad you could help out. Love it when others comment because it shows different options to doing things.
My way isn't the only way for sure. So chime in at will.

I'm sure you'd be pleased. My yields increased 35 - 40% when I switched to MC & Mars TSW 2000. Went from 6 oz. per plant to 8 - 10 oz. per plant like it was nothing. Not sure if it's the light or MC or the Combo; but I feel like I struck gold.

Anyone plan on Cloning ? Then let's make the "Bubble Cloner". Let's start with what you will need.
1) a Tupperware Type Bowl about the size of a Boot Box : $1 at the dollar store
2) Some Clone Collars : .45 cents ea. at the Hydro Store or a bag of 50 from China for $6
3) Aquarium Fish Pump / Air Hose / Small Air Stones : $10 on-line
4) Small package of Clonex Rooting Gel : $6 at the Hydro Store

First thing you do is take the Clone Collars & place them on the Lid of your your Tupperware Container where you want your clones to be. I chose 8 Clone Sites.
Once you find the option you like trace around the Clone Collars with a Marker so you can cut the holes out to the correct size. Try to cut to the inside of the circles you drew with marker for a snug fit.
I start my holes with a Razor Knife or by poking Scissors through. Then I cut with Snips since I have them & they are designed to cut curved shapes.
Check your holes with the Collars to make sure they fit kind of snug, but not too tight.
I also put 3 - 1/4" holes in my lid to release humidity & a little mist.
There are also 1/4" holes in 2 of the corners to feed the air line through.

After that I tested different Air Stones. Seems the smallest ones that came with the pump work the best. I did not use that kinked up Air Line that came with it. I had some of my own (without kinks) so I used that instead. Kinks will prevent air flow.
After finding the best Stones for the job I put the Lid on & ran it 5 minutes to see how it does. The inside of the lid was covered in a fine mist so it's working perfectly.

And that's how you make a Bubble Cloner.
We will be using the clonex when it comes time to take clones.

Hi Bugs. Been thinking about how to make it easy to find specific stuff in this journal after it’s created. I’m not very savvy on how the website works.....so, would it be possible to link to sections of this by putting threads in your signature that identify the phases (which could also be identified by post numbers)? Kind of like a table of contents that identifies tools, or tips in germination, or bubble cloning, diy, etc? Or is that too far in the weeds? :Namaste:

I'm not good on computers so not sure how to do it. Only way I know is Re-Do this journal by copying & pasting each thing in a new journal in their groups. There's probably a way to do it. I'll have to ask around.

The little girl has lost her Baby Bonnet. Already about 2" tall. Check out the difference from yesterday till today. 1st 2 pics yesterday & next 3 today. I am calling today DAY 1 since yesterday was Friday the 13th & I already have enough bad luck ... lol.

So far .... So Good !

I got my Ink Bird Temp & Humidity Controller yesterday so I'll be hooking that up this weekend. My Temps aren't too bad 75 F - 81 F is what it has been staying at so it's fine for growing. I do want it cooler during flower though 68 F - 75 F max. as cooler temps will bring out more colors.
My Humidity (been staying at 30% lights on) isn't the greatest though so I plan to make some changes. I have to pick up a 4" duct wye adapter & a 4" Booster Fan to do this though. Haven't tried anything like this before so not sure how it will work; but I think it will.
Anyway, here is what I'll be using & a diagram I drew to show how I plan to connect it.

I'm not exactly sure how the Ink Bird works yet. Still have to read the manual. But from my understanding I can plug in a Heater, AC, Fan or Humidifier & it can be set at a high & low Temp to turn things off & on automatically. It has 2 outlets & I'm told you can plug in a Heater & AC at the same time & control both to turn off & on at the temps you set it for. I'm guessing Work 1 is one outlet & Work 2 is the other. In the last pic you see the Temp Probe that just hangs in your tent about Canopy Level & tells the Ink Bird when to turn off & on. Only $27 so why not try it ?

I'll also be using my 6 gallon Humidifier outside the tent in a way I hope to Humidify the Room & Tent with at the same time. You'll see in the diagram I drew up.

And here is the Diagram. Any thoughts on if it will work ?

Normally I would put the Large Humidifier in the tent & end of story as it drops my temp 5 - 8 degrees & adds plenty of Humidity.
But, because I'm going to need the room in this tent for this grow I need to keep it outside the tent.
I'm going from Solo Cup to a 2 gallon pot, to a 5 gallon pot to a 10 gallon grow bag with 6 - 8 weeks of Veg (maybe more depending on growth. Let's see if we can pull a pound off 1 plant indoors. I think we'll get damned close.

nice budsbuddy, The inkbird came in. You don't need to have it on a timer. Just set the clock on the inkbird and then set the temperatures you are looking for.

I had to read the manual to get the settings correct as they are all in two letters. I think SV is the temps you want the tent to be. Also, the birdink is only good for AC and heater. However, you need to make sure that the AC or the heather don't have a ON button. Other whys you still need to press the on button on the AC for the AC to actually get power.
