Come Grow With Me: A Beginners Guide

then put the exhaust fan on the AC plug and set the temps setting for high temps to a point that it would make that switch active. Make sure to read the manual as its got different option.

Exhaust runs 24 / 7 now on Med. speed & only cools to about 79 - 81 F lights on. Turn fan higher & it gets too loud to sleep & sucks the tent in. I could turn up intake too but that makes things even louder. Right now I have the pefect balance of Intake to Exhaust as no sucking in or Blowing out on the tent. Intake Air just needs to be cooler.

got ya, does the AC have its own on button? that's where mine screwed me over as it still needed me to press the ON button

I have to wait till next weekend to do it anyway. Home Depot only had the Crappy Wye fittings & Hydro store was out. Neither had a 4" duct booster fan. So ordered the AC Infinity 4" Duct Booster Fan from Wally World ($24) & the 4" Wye from the Hydro Store ($12). Won't get here till next week.
I'll still Do the big humidifier end of things until the rest gets here.
I've never used a tent this small before so cooling it is a little different then usual. At least you can see ways to fix things.
As you can see I'm not in a big rush because the plant will grow fine the way things are. I just like to perfect things as I go. By time I get to flower when things are more important, everything's dialed in.

Not using AC at all. Cold Air from outside.
that's perfect idea. im waiting for the last plants to finish so i can setup the dwc in the tent. My plan was to grab outside cold temp and get it into the tent as well.

I got the Humidifier, Fan & Filter part done for the Intake today. Still need to do the outside Air part when the stuff comes in. But so far what I've done seems to be helping humidity wise. Tent Humidity has gone up 12% in 90 min. & Room humidity increased 7% so far. I have it on High now but once things are in the 60% - 70% Range I'll put it on low.
Pic tomorrow.
I also need to post a pic of a Temp / Humidity Monitor. Forgot about it & it's good to have.

Well done Buds Buddy, I will do this on the hydros and see how the results go. I've been having a humidifier in the room just to keep the humidity in the tent on point since the heater is on at 80f/26c which puts the tent at 72f/22.7c humidity at around 45%

This lil' gal is starting to spread her wings. A whole 2 days old & I'm happy with her growth so far. Up till today I gave her 15 ml. of water per day in the center of the cup. As of today she gets 50 ml. of water around the outer edge of the cup daily. This is just enough water to make the roots search for water & spread.
Within a week, give a day or two, I'll be up-potting her & starting to feed MC.
Here's how she's looking today.

Here is a pic of a Temp / Humidity Monitor. These are great to have & almost a necessity. They keep track of your High & Low Temps & Humidity over the past 24 hours. Sure helps to dial things in. They run about $10.

Here's a pic of how I changed my Intake around with it sucking air from the humidifier through the filter. So far it's only got the tent up to 40% Humidity; but I started with lights on, so we'll see where we are after 6 hours of lights off & where it goes from there. Getting closer, inch by inch.

Last but not least is my Nute Bucket set up. I have to put it on a crate because of the spout at the bottom of the bucket. I chose a crate because it gives me a place to store a couple towels to clean up spills & my Meters. All nice & handy this way.

Thanks Professor. Got bored with a plain old journal so thought I'd add some stuff at the beginning & a few things during the grow as well.

Trying to find my info on calculating Light & Ventilation for grow area sizes. Too many folders with stuff spread out. I need to organize it.

Found some info on Lighting & Ventilation Calculations so I'll post them later today.
I may do a Tips & Tricks Journal when this is done so I can group everything up in the correct places.
So far Tent Humidity has gone up to 50% so the new way of setting things up is helping. It's getting there slowly but surely. It's increased 22% in 2 days.

Sure hope she's big enough for clones in about 2 weeks. I'm going to be setting up my 5 x 5 tent with a brand new Mars Hydro TS 3000 to grow 5 clones in. After these 2 grows I'll be set up for perpetual grows as I'm setting things up little by little. There will be a 2' x 2' x 3' Clone tent with Bubblers & a 2' (4 Bulb) T-5 Light, My Veg Tent which is the 3 x 3 I'm using now & then the 5 x 5 Flower tent. This will enable me to harvest 4 plants every 2 months by keeping them moving from tent to tent.

looking great buds buddy!! how is the inkbird coming along?

Just found Emilya's info on Topping at different nodes so wanted to post it here.
  • if you top between nodes 4-5 or anywhere higher, you get 2 main kolas.
  • if you top between nodes 3-4 it acts like a FIM, you could get 4 main kolas, usually 3 and rarely 5. It also takes longer to resolve than any other topping.
  • if you top between nodes 2-3, after waiting for the plant to rise up the 5th node, you get 4 main kolas. This is how quading starts.

Here's a couple of diagrams of different ways to set your Exhaust & Intake up.

Temp & Humidity were covered in the Grow Charts earlier. So tomorrow I'll get to Calculating Lighting & the different kinds of lights.
I'll also do an update on my lil' girl.

Are you guys getting any useful info out of this ?
