Colombian Gold Grow: Come Learn With Me How To Produce Your Own Seeds!

@Pennywise You reckon I have time to thoroughly flush the Hawaiian Mayan Gold plant prior to harvesting it? I'll have to get the plant out of the tent to get accurate photos of the buds. The QB lights make it look more yellow then it is.

She looks about ready to me. I would start giving water for the next week or 2. But I may be totally wrong.
I grew Durban poison, one of the best sativas I have ever grown or smoked. Some of the buds had some foxtails. They did not bother me one bit. Some of the tails were huge, like buds just splitting. No one complained and it definitely was not a heat or environment issue. Some people really trip out about the foxtails and I think they are wonderful.
I only had one of my Durban’s pistols change color. It was enough that I could tell it was changing, but faint.
When they cured, they took on more of a red hair appeariance.

I don't mind the foxtailing either. According to the breeder (questionable at best) this is a cross of a Kona Gold (pure sativa) and Colombian Gold sativa. The site says 10-11 weeks which seems very short for a cross of two "pure" sativas. I have it written down to harvest her on November 7th which is why I was asking what you guys though. I like to flush for 10 days.

I think you could start the flush now. And I agree CG is a 20+ week strain so it would have to take after the Kona. I have a sneaky suspicion that Kona is a hybrid but leaning heavy to the Sativa side.

Newty is growing out one of their Kona Gold plants. She's not convinced it's not an Indica strain.

I took some pictures of some of the buds. The lighting outside my tent sucks so I had to take them in the tent. The individual bud pictures represent the true color. The two pictures of the plant as a whole are not so yellow.

Here is a picture of the Think Different auto. I've been growing it so long it's kind of growing on me now.

The foxtailing sort of looks like a chess piece........king or queen

I honestly don't know enough about foxtailing to be dangerous. Too much heat and genetics are basically the two causes? Either way it doesn't hurt the plants and the foxtailing on this plant is loading up with trichromes. I've some people trim it off when harvesting plants. Why do that? Isn't it the same make-up as the rest of the bud? Why not smoke it or use it for oils?

I'd say start your flush and it'll be done soon.

I'll stop feeding her and will just water her from now on. I expect she'll want water maybe 3 times in the next 10 days. I may put her in the tub with 5 days to go and just keep watering her and letting it run off.

Question.... let my noob side show!

Say I wanted to make fem. autoflower seeds from a fem. autoflower plant. How would one go about it without using a male. Just having 1 autoflower plant in a closet?

I’ve been researching a little for a future grow so I can build my autoflower inventory but I am curious to get some more experienced people’s input as well !

Much appreciated !

So you didn't read this journal from the beginning? :nomo: I discussed briefly how to do it and what you'll need. And I just started a single auto flower plant that I will be trying to self pollinate. In a nutshell you spray one of the branches starting as close to 5 days before it starts to flower so you have to watch it REALLY close. If it works the sprayed branch will produce pollen sacks that will pollinate the plant making you a bunch of seeds.

A bit more then 1/2 way down page one I have a picture of the colloidal silver I use for seed making with females only. I've used it with very good success. I figure in about 30 days I'll be starting with the Quarter Pounder auto. Not sure where you are with your auto grow.

Thanks for the input beez sorry to bug!

Don't misinterpret my wise ass-edness as being bugged. I enjoy helping others on this site. God knows I've asked for help enough times myself.
