Colombian Gold Grow: Come Learn With Me How To Produce Your Own Seeds!

Got a huge bag of it laying around may give it a whirl.

Make sure your rinse the perlite really really well before using it. If not all that dust will settle to the bottom of the hempy pot, down in the reservoir, and sort of choke your roots. It makes a white slimy mess at the bottom.

Oooo.... Kismet, I have to warn you, this process quickly becomes addictive. Lol! And take beez’s guidance to heart if you do give it a go. I use the biggest mesh strainer in my kitchen to thoroughly wash the dust off. I’ve never had more than a small coating on the very bottom when I pull roots after harvest.

This is so easy you may ask yourself why you waited so long to try. :battingeyelashes:

Hempy seems so easy! Not for my style but anyone in a tent who is used to frequent watering (like coco) it seems like it's at least worth a plant as a test.

Every two days I faithfully water, and it takes me about three minutes per plant to do so. Easy-peasy.

So does everyone agree the winner is Pennywise? Stoneotter, 4 more seeds and you would have won:(

I agree he won the seed count, (congrats PW!) but honestly, I feel like I’m the big winner here. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart: Look at those seeds you made beez! I’ll want to prioritize a CG grow as soon as I get moved into my apartment.

73 pages of excitement..... it’s nice to watch you having so much fun my friend. :hugs:

I started to harvest the NL X DDA the other day taking that long top cola leaving everything else alone for a few more days. It is all ready to be harvested but I'm a wet trimmer and don't like to let buds sit untrimmed. So I cut off buds as I have time to trim them at that time. Lots going on with the Holidays and such. I'm going to be taking all the NL X DDA sugar leaves and Colombian Gold sugar leaves and make a batch of brownies. Looking at the sugar leaves on the NL X DDA these might be some potent brownies.

Make sure with the DDA that you're applying (brush or spray) starting about day 26

beez how do you get a fem to keep for making clones or seeds when you are using reg seeds?
Do you take clones of a flowering fem once you see the sex?
or do you take cuttings before the flip and if the donor is female you already have a fem clone?

I have some Thin Mint seeds that are regular seeds. When I want to grow this strain I will plant multiple seeds at once (usually 3) hoping for at least one female, but with it being Thin Mint and I would praying for two females and one male.

To answer your question when the three plants reached a size where I could take cuttings I would harvest at least one from each plant but generally two from each plant. If you're confident in your method of turning cuttings into rooted clones I would take each of the three "mom" plants and throw them into the flowering tent to determine their sex. If I get a boy of the Thin Mint pheno I would definitely make seeds with one of the other two plants if one of them at least turned out to be a gal. ANY time I find a male I look to cross his pollen with any flowering female with at least 5 weeks left to flower.

So did that answer your question or did I ramble?

Working on trimming up the NL X DDA plant. I start at the top and work my way down trimming a few buds at a time. The aroma of this plant is like a mild potpourri. A sort of floral/grapeish/berryish aroma. It's a nice fragrance compared to the dank, rotten citrusy, gassy aroma of the Colombian Gold. I sure do hope this stuff smokes and tastes as good as it looks and smells.
