Colombian Gold Grow: Come Learn With Me How To Produce Your Own Seeds!

Dutch, I don't see any reason it wouldn't work for you. You will have to accurately dilute it down to whatever PPM you want to use by mixing it with distilled water. But it should work just fine.

Thanks Beez! It’s on my wish list then!

I’ve read the correct ratio for CS is between 30-50PPM without bothering or harming the plant.

Here are a couple photos of the plant I am working with for this project. She never quite seemed to take off leaving me with less then an ideal scenario. But who knows it might work and is worth a try.

As you can see there aren't a lot of branches to begin with, and those that are there are pretty small. I would imagine the majority of people who use the colloidal silver apply it as a spray and you can of course follow that path and spray your plant too. I use an artist paint brush and brush the colloidal silver onto just the branches trying my best not to get it on the leaves. On each branch that I am applying it I pay extra attention to any nodes on the branches. In this case the only nodes are where the branches meet the main stalk and at the very top of the branches where new leaves are starting to open. I will apply the CS from the very bottom of the branch where it meets the main stalk all the way to the top where the new leaves are popping out. Below I circled the branches I will be treating with the colloidal silver.

And finally a photo showing the application with a small paint brush.

Okay, in the picture above with the paintbrush.......right above the paintbrush you can see the new growth. You'll want to concentrate and make sure you brush the CS right into that intersection of growth. Don't flood it, but definitely make sure you wet it good. You could be applying this for 3 weeks and in that time the plant will be in the flowering stage and will be stretching. These branches that are small now will continue to grow. Keep applying the CS the full length of the branch paying special attention to the nodes along the branches. That is where the pollen sacks will form for you.

I will continue to apply the CS to the branches I've highlighted in these pictures. As the plant continues to grow if anyone would be interested I can include a couple photos showing the branches growing but that might be pretty boring.

Any photos or documentation of the CS application and process would be appreciated ! Excited to see this progress from here!

Dutch.......Apply the colloidal silver from the very bottom of a branch where it meets the main stalk and brush it on all the way to the very top of the branch (excluding leaves) making sure to get it on heavy at the nodes on the branch.

Today the Colombian Gold female was given a shower to neutralize any viable pollen that may have still be on her leaves or buds. I set the spray bottle to mist and I doused her really well. I waited an hour and did it again. I'm 100% sure there is good pollen still on that plant somewhere but she should be pretty safe at this point so I moved her back into the flowering tent with the Blueberry and NL X DDA plants. I turned an oscillating fan on her to help dry her off. Here are a couple pictures of her.

Here is a photo of that Sensi Northern Light X Dark Devil plant that I've come to love so much.

And finally a photo of the flowering tent which now has one prime spot empty which kills me.

Once you select which branch or branches you want to apply the colloidal silver to you want to make sure you spend the time necessary to paint the entire branch paying special attention to the nodes. Nodes where leaves will form, nodes where branches might form, nodes where pollen sacks will form. Paint the branch fully from where it grows out of the main stalk of the plant all the way up to the highest node. I don't paint it on the leaves. I apply it at lights on and right before lights off.

I hate to see wasted space in my tent!
Me too. And that's why this is the last time I'll put a nearly sexually mature plant into my flowering tent until I know it's sex. That last boy I had to cull left me with a big hole. Poor planning on my part.

Actually I wanted multiple males for the Blueberry and Xmas Bud so worked out well. I have 3 females of each to pollinate. Each will get pollen from multiple males to preserve as much genetic integrity as possible with a small seed run.

I pollinated a GSC Thin Mint plant on a couple of buds with pollen from the Sensi Northern Lights plant. I've planted two of these seeds and both times ended up with a boy. But I can tell the plant will be similar to the Sensi NL X DDA I am growing now. The Sensi NL is a pretty genetically dominant plant in both crosses.

I know it's not perfect but it's the best I had available. I up-potted this Colombian Gold clone into a 5 gallon bucket. Poured some goodies at the bottom of the hole to speed up root growth and production. I'll give it a week to get settled in then put it into the flowering tent. It won't fill it but at least I won't have a completely empty spot. I culled a male CG clone today and I can't describe how strong that plant smelled. It that transfers to the seeds I have in the oven now there are going to be some top quality Colombian Gold seeds in 5-6 weeks.

I'm thinking of pollinating a branch on a Blueberry with Chem pollen if it starts dropping pollen!

Lots of possibilities with that cross. The potential is there for a knockout cross strain. All your pollen will be top rate and you'll be blessed with a bunch of great seeds.

I guess you could always dust a chem 91 branch with some of that Blueberry pollen.
