Colombian Gold Grow: Come Learn With Me How To Produce Your Own Seeds!

Today I cut off the branch I reversed on my Purple Punch plant to go through the buds looking for seeds. Not as prolific as I had hoped but certainly nothing to cry about. This plant was given to me in clone form from a buddy nearby so I'll split the proceeds with him 50/50. I ended up with 101 seeds and will probably cull about 8-10 when I examine them closely. So I'm figuring I'll end up with about 90 Purple Punch S1 seeds. I suspect it will take me quite some time to grow all 45 of my cut.

Thanks, I think most of them will work.

Could the change in color be a sign that the plant is pulling some nutrients from the leaves that it's not finding in the soil at this late stage?

I had a Black Cherry Punch plant basically die on me last week. I figured it had about 2-3 weeks to go. All the leaves started turning yellow, withered up and died. It was only in a 4 gallon pot so I thought perhaps it had a root problem. I tried top dressings but to no avail. So I did an autopsy on the rootball after harvesting the plant. It was DRY AS A BONE. I seem to be having a hard time getting my head wrapped around how much heavier the organic soil is then the Promix BX. I was picking up the plant and thinking Yep, she's got plenty of water. Well now I bought a scale. When I up-pot the plant, prior to watering it in I'm weighing them and making a note of how much It weighs nearly dry.

In my defense I was watering that plant but obviously nowhere near as much as she was needing. And she was the fourth organic I harvested. The first three were just fine. I'll figure it out.

So, on to the Candida! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME the plant grows SO BIG SO FAST??? o_O Before I had a place to grow her to reverse her I had to keep up-potting her as she got root bound. I was up to a 5 gallon pot and she was already in the lights of my homemade vegging tent. I ended up having to take cuttings off of her. I'm keeping her alive until at least one of the cuttings is rooted. Plus the cutting Mr. Greene sent me was in the cup at a 40 degree angle and I was not able to correct that no matter how I tried each time I up-potted her. This poor poor pitiful thing.

I'm blaming it on Mr. Greene and his sideways growing clone he sent me.

I've kept Bonsai mothers in the past so I do understand how reducing the roots works. This Candida was a very vigorous growing plant which honestly I didn't pay much attention to much of the time. And I figured I would have a spot for her sooner then later so I just give her more room when she needed it. But when I went from the 3 gallon to the 5 gallon she went wild. I could, if I had to, work with her. But growing on that angle she just takes up way too much room even if I were to cut her way back. I'll be much happier with a vertical growing clone.

I thought about the seeds. I guess I was thinking you preferred the sativa pheno for your medicinal needs. And since that's what I have (sativa) I did not pop seeds.

Oh, if you don't pay attention to them they can do this on ya:

Either pheno is good for medicinal, but I appreciate the thought beez!
