Closet Scrog Grow

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

No they make an adapter for standard faucet to garden hose fitting...
You just unscrew the end off the faucet and screw on the adapter and then the hose...

Lowe's or Home Depot, just ask...

When you disconnect from the faucet, put that end in the drain and then go wind up the hose, that way you empty the hose in the drain...

:peace:

Oh, edit...
Personally I would put the chamber's exhaust and filter's blower in the tent and the lamp's blower on top or just outside of the tent...

:Namaste:

the first thing that came to mind was one of those facet to hose adapter but the little thing that is suppose to screw off the faucet is either rusted the fuck on there or it just doesn't come off because we were trying to get it off with a pair of pliers last night and it just wouldn't come off. Thats why i think ill have to settle for just a hose and clamp. will still do the job.

Thanks for your input about the fans, ill probably end up doing that

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

Did some work tonight, got all the clones into the 4x4 tent
. ran all the wires got everything nice and neat. SCROG plants are very dry so we are going to put a cool mist humidifier in there. other than that they look good

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

Got the cool 'visible' mist ultra sonic humidifier and stuck it in the scrog closet. Its putting out a nice low steady mist. very fine mist you can barley feel it but it should bring the humidity to where it needs to be. Going to buy a humdistat soon.

Got another air pump and 2 air stones for the new water reservoir. bought a 32gal heavy duty trash bin at lowes and with the new adapter we got to attach a hose to the bathroom faucet we can fill it up with out having to lug it around.

I plan on getting another sub pump so i can pump water into the nutrient reservoirs from the water reservoir. Would make it easier then filling buckets up and pouring them into the nutrient reservoir.

Bought some miscellaneous stuff as well bunch of thermometers some duct work and stuff for suspending wires and tying plants off. I hope to have a thermometer for each tent/closet and one on each ballast. Also got a few floating thermometers for tracking reservoir temps.

My New (slightly used) ballast came intoday. I dont have the reflector cord yet but i plugged it in and the fan came on so it seems like its in working condition, got it for a good price on an ebay auction, heres what it looks like
revolt-400w-ebay-template-image-gallery.jpg

i got a 6'' Cool tube on the way should be here next week and then i am ordering another one of these ballast but im gettin a 600w one that comes in a package, comes with everything i need for $220.

Once we get those lights (and once the scrog plants are harvested) we will use both the old HID for the new 4x4 veg tent.

These Lights have the older style magnetic ballast so we plan on mounting them outside the tent, perhaps suspending them on a hook from the ceiling that way they will be air cooled and we may go as far as to buy a small square pc fan to put on one side of the ballast, because we took the covers off so it would run cooler, its a perfect square and should fit a pc fan in there to make it a fan cooled ballast.

Going to order another Inline fan, Gonna shoot for a 8'' but ill settle for a 6'' and once we have all the cool tubes and fans and duct work we will put it all together, we are going to vent up into the ceiling and out the roof soffet to the outdoors

Ill have more pics up soon!

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

Here is the 6'' cool tube i just payed for, should be here next week.
Its got a 15' S Cord

My Online Shopping List is Extensive and Expensive....

For the Flower Tent

-Control wizard 3 in 1, 24/7 pH,PPM,Temperature Monitor
-6'' MTNGearSmith Inline Duct Fan
-600w Ballast/Cool Tube/Timer/Bulb/Hanger Package
-Sentinel EVC-2 Temp/Humidity/Co2/NightTime Controller
-Co2 Electric Solenoid Regulator w/Timer

For Veg Tent
-Plug in Humdistat

I also gotta go to the hydro store and get another sub pump and gotta hit lowes to get my 32gal water reservoir.

All in time. Will probably be buying this stuff over a few month period. We plan on getting drip rings for a sort of self watering system but thats down the road, lets see what we can do first.

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

Busy is good. Keeps me occupied...

So with the addition of the humdifier on the lowest setting only raised the humidity about 10-15% so we put it on medium setting. its pumping out a pretty steady mist so we will check it tomorrow

Scrog Closet
Temp - Current(Before Lights out) 78*F - 68*F Low - 86*F High - RH 25%

Ballast Temps - Current 80*F - Low 75*F - High 95*F

4x4 Veg Tent
Temp- Current 75*F - 65*F Low - 79*F High

we have the space heater set on 75*F during lights on and turn it up to 80*F with lights off. The space heater is very ideal for growing because it gives off very low heat so it takes a while for thigns to warm up, that way the air is not so hot and direct. Right now we just have a 4'' Inline booster fan for an outake and we are utilizing the passive air intakes at the bottom of the tent for pulling in air. The heater is right outside the tent so it is being drawn in the tent through the passive air intake.

Now for some pics, The scrog plants are looking pretty good, i tried to take a picture of each individual plant then a few group photos....enjoy!

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

Hey ilikebike! All looks good man nice and clean. Good clean pictures too man. I dont think the roots coming out of the top around the stalk is a sign of root bound. Its quite normal. If your worried about being root bound see if they lift out of the pot when they dry by the stalk and look at the roots. Or look through the holes in the bottom. The leaves will droop like rams horns when they root bound.

What size containers are you using??:peace:

Thanks im quite OCD when it comes to making this neat. I guess i could blame it on being an electrician for 6 years.

The reason why i ask about it being root bound is because like 2 or 3 weeks ago i saw a few roots coming out the little drainage holes in the pot, it was only on one plant so i just trimmed them with scissors. The pots im using are bigger than the ones i used on my last PPP grow. and i used those pots from start to finish. The containers i am using now are 10'' pots. we lined the bottom of the pots with a small layer of drainage rock and then used FFOF soil for the rest. I used one big bag (1.5 cu.ft) for all 4 pots because when i transplanted they had huge root masses. Im seriously not trying to transplant because they are under the screen so im going to count my lucky stars.

You do good work my friend.

Hey thanks Fetchy cant wait to see this screen in action when i flip the lights. I want the top canopy so thick with buds that i could sleep on it.

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

Ok got a quick mini update

Scrog Closet - Is looking really good the screen is about 60-70% filled in, been working alot of the tops around the screen and think im starting to get the hang of this scrog thing. We are almost done with our 2nd full strength 5gal batch of BPN 3 part elite crazy growth formula.
This weekend we intended on flipping the lights to 12/12 and moving to the BPN 3 part elite transition formula.
Im waiting for my other 400w ballast and cool tube to come in then we plan on replacing the 2 old magnatic ballast that are in the closet with the 2 new digital ballast we got.
Our electricity bill has gone up substantially so we are trying to cut cost and save energy on any level. Replacing our 2 - 15year old magnetic ballast with new digital ones should help a great deal. Also we are going to raise the temp on the outake fan thermostat so it only kicks on if the temp gets above 90*F.
I intened on getting a fan speed controller as well so we dont have to run them at full speed all the time.

Veg tent - All clones look great starting to see new growth already. Temps are staying nice and even.

ON A SIDE NOTE: i started germinating my ChemDog seed and Super Lemon Haze seed on sunday and i already see a tap root. Probably going to put it in a rapid rooter and plug it into a solo cup filled with soil.

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

What would be more cost effective to run for watt to gram ratio, 2 400w digital ballast or 1 - 1000w digital ballast in a 5x5 flowering tent? the electricity bill has gone up substantially so we are trying to figure out the best teaching to get the most grams per watt. i am thinking about doing a 2l type hempy grow with a 12/12 schedule, as soon as my 9 ppp clones get big enough to take cuttings from. Do you think i should do that or should i do a few plants under a scrog, im just trying to figure out what will be the most beneficial to me, thanks. I am also thinking about going the LED route i just dont have that kinda money to dish out right now after i just bought all these HID. FUCK MEEEE well i guess ill keep on fighting the good fight and do whats right! later guys :peace::high-five:

Minimum watts per sq ft is 20 you have 25 sq ft ...you can use the 2 400s

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

Kick azz job on the SCROG so far Ilikebike!!!! Is that a call of duty poster in that photo?? PS3??? I also think that the 2x 400w's should be fine for your tent...may even want to look at a lumatek dial a watt, I have one and there nice because you can dial down your wattage and run a 600w at 400w...good for mixing up the intensity as well as saving some dough... The dual 400w lights will allow you to be able to get the lights much closer as well as you can blend spectrums like 1 MH and 1 HPS.... Your doing an mighty fine job ILIKE!!!! kudos!!

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

Alright shit i got updates.

Im a little depressed today because my scrog plants look very sad, droppy kind of. They are green as ever but they haven't grown much in the past 2 or 3 days. almost like there shocked or something.
These are my Trouble Shooting Guesses

-Under Watering
-Root Bound
-Lack Of Light

Im using a 400w MH and 400w HPS w/ winged reflectors and 25w CFL with clamp on reflector in a 2'x5' Closet

after i watered them and pruned them for about 30mintues they seemed to be perking up a little, i also gave them all a splash of BPN Crazy Growth, we had a little left in the reservoir so i split it up between them.
I think they are just needing more water, was just giving them 1/4 gal each a day, but i think i need to water them twice a day with 1/2gal each time/plant. do you think that is to much? im using 10'' Pots id have to say they 3 gal. Give or take 1/2 gal.
The stems seemed like weak and some of the tops were like flopped over you can see it in some of the pics.

Also another thing i am worried about is i see tons of little white hairs popping up everywhere on nodes on would be bud sites. but we still have the lighting at 18/6. This was happening before when they were younger and it kinda just went away. Now its coming back. Is it just early signs of sex? it confuses me a little bit.

VEG TENT

Ok these things are taking right off im excited! One minor problem i see a few tiny little flies or something hovering around the lights. I have some organic pesticide stuff that you dilute with water. Im going to remove the plants. Using Rubbing alcohol solution with water to disinfect the whole tent. Ill spray the plants down with the pesticide, then put everything back in. I think it may have been brought in by the dog. i don't notice it on the plants at all i only saw a few flies and they were near the bulbs.
Also on these plants i can also kinda of see white hairs where the would be bud sites are already! i hope this is just a strain thing but i didnt notice it on the plants i grew from seed. I hope its not because i took clones so late into the mothers life that it was like trying to sex or something i dunno its just confusing.
Other than that they are growing very fast, way faster than the last clones. They look really healthy.
I mixed up a batch of BPN Elite seedling mixture 2.5ml x 3gal = 7.5 of GROW,MICRO,BLOOM with a dash of superthrive in 3gal of water. Ph'd at 6.0. That sports water cooler with spout is the balls there like 21 bucks at wally world but its worth it plus its insullated keeps your shit cold for a while throw some ice cubes in it even better. Im almost temped to make a DWC bucket with one of them its already got a built in drain, hahaha.

I only gave it to 2 of the plants to see how they respond to it. All the others got water.
Im going to attempt to lst a few of these and top a few. They have been in veg for like 16 days is that to early to start topping? i know its not to early for LST!

redo4.jpg
redo5.jpg
redo6.jpg
redo7.jpg

Another thing that had me depressed was i didnt get around to putting my SLH seed and my CHEMDAWG seed in a rapid rooter and they had already pushed off the shell and had 2 tiny leaves. They had been germinating for a solid 3 days. They had taproots on Monday i should have just did it then im an idiot. I Still put them in rapid rooters soaked em in ph water first them stuck them in the veg tent. Ill spray them lightly day to day and see what happens i hope i didn't fuck em up but lesson learned if i did, plus i still have 3 more bomb seeds!

Also i want to Thank the member DigitalGrow. He is new addition to our grow family JD LIGHTING for supplying a brand new

re: BPN Closet Scrog Grow

apart from your "saggy" leaves your plants look fine to me, while i never have done a scrog grow, those i know who have always trim off anything under the screen since they nvr get enough light.
