Closet Farming With Barney's Gorilla Zkittlez, G13 Haze, Triple Cheese & More

Greetings y'all.
Here's the news of the day. Not what I was hoping for,but that's life I guess.
I just got done giving her a Mg foliar. I'm getting fast moving necrosis in the leaves. ,
Rh 50-60%
temp 75-80
Some leaves are dry and brittle. The damaged leaves are tacoing. I'm waiting to see if they were just too wet from transplant. I figured that a Mg foliar wouldn't hurt. They soil is pretty dry today but I'm going to wait to water as long as possible.
I think that the last time I used Happy Frog I mixed it with FFOF. I think it gives the soil a spongy texture. The Happy Frog on it's own or even with a bunch of added perlite seems heavy and muddy to me. I'm going to mix some up and see what it looks like. SMH.
Checking pH pen in a bit. I don't think it's that though. I check and calibrate every week. I'm probably due for some new calibration fluid. I will test it against my liquid kit to make sure.

I feel like I have a dark cloud over me.
Tell me what y'all think.

The top of the plant has that overwatered look, but the lower leaves
don't -that plant is really behaving strangely-could there be a problem with the roots?

PH was at 6.5.
Soil doesn't seem right to me either. I'm going to get her in some FFOF like you suggest.
For Mega Crop I'm following their "schedule" for grams per gallon. I may have the old formula. Should I try to add an extra calcium source? I have their cal-mag product or I have molasses with calcium in it with epsom.

I agree
I couldn't resist. It has been bugging me the whole time. OK back to the problem. I also agree about a root problem but I thought you said they were OK at transplant.

I just transplanted her a few days ago and her roots were bright white and furry. I'll look at them again when I repot her.

I would increase the MC regardless of what is happening with the plant right now. What stage are you on with the MC. I'm not seeing any signs of overfeeding with the MC so it seems to me you are on the light side.
It may also explain the mg def you are referring to.
Adding calmag wont hurt her either but increasing the MC and you are giving it more Ca anyhow.

My next feeding was going to be 4 grams/ gallon . The last one I didn't write down but i think it was just over 3 grams/gal.

You asked about lights earlier. 26" away set on 80%. 260 watt qbs.

I don't think it's a light problem. I was just thinking out loud.
The MC, if you are going to give it 4g/gal now, means you were most likely still on the seedling feed. 4.25g/gal will put you in the mid veg. I think you can actually go higher to 4.75g/gal but start slowly.
Give her 4.25 this feeding and if no signs of tip burn go to 4.75. From here you should be finding the limit the plant can take. As soon as you see signs of overfeeding back off the feed weight by 10%.

Ok. So I repotted her and took a better look at the root ball.
Her root ball was hard as in compressed by dense muddy soil, and roots of course. I roughed them up just a little bit.
You still want me to give 4/gallon in fresh FFOF soil?

Yup, now that you got the roots loosened up and in good soil she'll love the extra food. I'm sure you're going to see some improvement now. The roots being clumpy is definately an issue and a good call from carcass.

I was holding off a bit with the Mega Crop because her leaves are already pretty dark green. I'll get her up to where she's supposed to be with her feedings.
I hope I broke her up enough without injuring her roots too bad. She might look a lot worse before she gets better.

I suppose I need to repot everything now. I wonder if the dense soil has anything to do with my other seedlings dying. It's like they couldn't get out of the coir plugs and into the soil.

Keep in mind with MC the plants will always look a deeper green. Often if you have enough light to the lower fans, they will still be green at harvest.
What you are looking for is a change in green at the tips. Normally they will go a darker green, subtle but you can see it, then the typical tip burn. Don't worry if you burn the tips. Once you see that you know your limit and you can sail the rest of the way home from there.
You're in soil(less) now so it's a lot more forgiving.

I have not used HF, just FFOF, and I always add some perlite to that as well. I've not heard anyone have problems with HF, so maybe you got an old batch sitting around. Even the MG Organic I use has an expiry date on it.
