That's interesting Beez. I would also bet it was the QB lights that she liked. Would you try an auto grow under the LEDs at 12/12?
My favorite auto so far is one of the first I grew, a Caramel Cream from Seedsman. It knocked me and all of my buddies on our asses.

I believe they take the highest tested THC content of the strain during that harvest and use that for their labels to attract consumers, so really it indicates the strain can get 'up to' the shown thc content.

To be honest Beez and PW, I don’t buy seeds based on analysis read outs. I buy seeds based on what I see at 420mag and what I’ve heard about the breeder.
my first seed purchase, Cookies n Chem, I bought it because the mom was an award winning hybrid (exotix’s cookies n cream) and the male was a selected stud from JJtop’s stardawg. Basically a pack that cannot miss.
my second purchase, star pupil and Gods Gift... I sort of went purple crazy with that one. I had heard of and seen star pupil from @Duggan and @TheGreenYeti so I knew that was one I really wanted. Also I had heard nothing but good things about mass medical. The gods gift, I just really liked the pictures I saw on the banks page and the breeder’s Instagram. Also if the lineage were true (old Cali GDP x OG kush), it would be a potent, tasty smoke... probably.
My last bean purchase was Black Friday. I knew I was going to get Katsu’s gear way before it went on sale. Also I decided to take the money I saved and spend it on beans at seedsman. I got some nice auto genetics from fast buds and a singular bubba hash from ace because they were giving away a mountain of freebies.
TL;DR my seed picks are based on what I know of the breeder, the lineage, the folks here at 420M, and the pictures.
that being said
what I’m mostly interested in with the read out is the terpene profile. Labs/breeders have no reason to lie about terp numbers right? I’m trying to get some insight into what terpenes are driving what smells and effects. I feel like I have a much better understand of why the star pupil is the way it is. That linalool has a dramatic impact on the way I perceive the aroma. Some of the buds are definitely heavier in the limonene, cause some of buds smell sour, but not all.
Shhhhhh you guys are gonna get me in trouble...I'm too easy @Pennywise. Just ordered some. Seedsman had them for 7 for $27!
*edit: other factors played into why I got the gods gift besides how it looked. I got a free 5 pack of bear creek kush x lambsbreath reg.

I had bought the Star Pupil mostly because it is a sure thing to get a purple plant. I have wanted a true purple in my garden for years. Every other breeder that claims purple is basing it off one pheno that you may or may not get, I used to buy off of descriptions on seed bank pages but have found that really does not paint a full picture. Lineage has always played a role but again some breeders stretch the truth a bit. That God's Gift should be nice. Icemud will be breeding with it at some point. It has a very similar make up as Purple Punch which was strain of the year in 2018. Some people I know love it and others hate it (the Purple Punch) but it is a frost monster that gets colorful.

Right, that’s why I got the Star pupil as well. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the effects.
I’ve also heard people express a distaste for Purple Punch. I can’t say I’ve ever smoked it.. I mean I probably have, but never from a dispensary or my own garden.

I wanted that lambs breath cause I had no Sativa Hybrid really in my collection at that point. The star pupil, but she’s pretty Stoney.

My favorite so far is Sour Diesel Haze auto. Everyone (sativa fans) who tasted it loved it. Simple to grow, good yield, and quality buds......what more could you ask for right? Oh, and I pollinated that SDHA with some GG#4 pollen and the plants that cross produced is off the charts good.

I grew a clone from a friend and I don't remember much about the plant at all. I think the medical folks would say it was unremarkable. I get high from the product but to me it's nothing special. I will say this about the Purple Punch. I have thoroughly enjoyed the It's It Punch which was bred with the PP and it's what I call damn good weed.

interesting.... I Should pop one of those next. Man I need more space already. I think I’m going to have a to drop down to only 3 moms, it’s going to be tough to choose. Maybe I’ll pop an IIP just to grow and chop it. I’ve got more than one bean I think so it’ll be fine. If I want to hold one alive I can later.

I have smoked it and it was nice. Pretty and tasty. Decent buzz. My buddy I got it from absolutely loved it. The guy that was growing it paid a bunch for a clone of it. I would not mind growing the legit clone but refuse to pay what people around here want for it.

Man lucky that you got a clone. Bummer you did not care for it. The people that really care for it around here have mentioned that while she looks done at 8 weeks she really needs to go 10 weeks to really shine. I have grown a few of the Punch Hybrids and they all carry very nice frost. She seems to be one that really passes along some nice traits in breeding.
I grew three Purple Punch plants back to back to back all from clones. The buds were Xtra frosty and super sticky. The fragrance was really nice. In my neck of the woods the Purple Punch buds are very popular......loved by all. May be something in my water?

So I took some macros of the SP just now. I think her harvest window will be opening in a day or two. If her lowers look the same (fucking hate scoping the lowers) then she’ll come down on Monday.... tentatively, I’ll always check before I chop

Flower Tent Update Day 51 (flip+58)
So, the long awaited flower tent update. With my freak light schedule.I gotta say, I’ve been putting this off. Partially because I’d like you all to be able to see like a “before and after” kind of difference between this set of pictures and the last, but I’ve also just been busy and all over the place in my personal life.
Let me start out by saying, after day 5 of 21:36/12 I changed my lights back to 12/12. I have pretty much only one reason why; I’m impatient. I can see what’s going on, the balance between growth and ripening shifted back toward growth. My NL plant has a couple of colas that are starting to foxtail in every direction, putting out fresh calyxes and pistils to boot. The SP is foxtailing too. The CnC plants reacted differently than foxtail. The buds have just been exploding calyxes in every direction. It’s kind of funky. Also they’ve rocked up much more than any CnC Ive grown. If I went on with the light cycle I think it would’ve extended my flower time by a week at least. As it is, the NL is still 10 days out probably. The SP will hopefully be ready next week. I would’ve liked to harvest her monday, but if it doesn’t happen and it has to be wed/thurs that’s fine. The CnCs could go another 14-20, I wouldn’t be surprised. I think my first CnC ever I chopped right at 11 weeks. These could go to 12 because of the light cycle, who knows.
My take away from this experience;
I will probably not be adjusting the light cycle in my flower tent. Now that Im going perpetual, extending the flower time by an unknown amount, will just make things too confusing. If I were just doing one tent harvest after harvest I would do it. I can tell you all I didn’t see any nanners, or balls. No weird growths. Everything still flowering, just flowering as if there were under almost twice the light.
Okay, I’ll shut up now. On to the bud porn!

I’m thinking that the cookies n chem is one I might have to let go of here pretty soon. I wish I could just give a cut to someone who’d run it a while so I could get it back. It’s amazing weed and I haven’t been disappointed by even a single bowl of it, I just want to try new genetics.

Some very nice looking buddage bud! In the past I have handed clones to friends to try and get them to hold onto it until I wanted it back. Every time they dropped it before I could get it back from them. they always offer it back but I am never ready.
