Chef De Green Does It All: Reveg, Clones, Autos & Photos

Well it finally happened folks, I set up the veg tent. the little veg box was starting to collapse under the weight of the light and the sour bubba was starting to look rootbound, but a 3 gal pot wouldn’t have fit in the box. Same with the NL clone. This picture is before the transplant.

love that new tent smell.

and there you have it, it’s become fully perpetual here. My NL is likely to come down about two weeks before everything else, and the SB will be in her spot the second it’s free.

Good morning

I’m here this morning, enjoying my wake and bake with my freshly cleaned chalice and some Cookies n Chem. Just thinking back on my first grow and what I had done that made it go so well for me with my one big girl. I remember now that I was feeding every other watering. It occurred to me that maybe that worked so well because my tap water ph is maybe .5 higher than my nutrient feed typically is. This helps to keep the ph up in the soil. I’m thinking about this because my star pupil was showing signs of Ca def, so I increased the Ca while maintaining the rest of the ratio the same. The def seems to be slowing down, but I’m thinking the ph might be too low as well.

the good news is, week six brings a medium reset for my star pupil, as she’s the only girl on dyna-gro. That’ll help with the pH I think. I’m gonna back her down a bit on nutes as well. Maybe just give her 800-900 ppm instead of the 1200-1400 she’s been getting. That’ll be 1.5x recommended ml/g instead of 2.5x. Finish her out light, she’s got plenty of fans to eat. I’ll have an update to follow later in the day.

Congratulations on getting your veg tent set up and running. It should make you a lot more efficient and be easier to move plants around in then your old system.

Thanks Beez. I’ll be able to take my plants as far as I want them to go before flower in this tent. I think I can fit 2 3 gallon pots and an assortment of solo cups and 1 gallon pots. Im hoping for each girl to only spend 2-3 weeks in a 3 gallon pot before getting put into a 5 and going into flower.

I will now keep only 4 5 gallon pot girls going in flower at a time. No more crazy 6 plant runs in my tiny flower tent.

I’ve also still got my cloner running in my bathroom. I’m happy to report that my GF cut rooted and is now growing happily in soil, so that pheno lives on. I’ve also potted a Sour Bubba cut.

It sounds like you've got this cloning stuff down. I do see a lot of guys and gals here on 420 and other site struggle a little with cloning. It's one of those things that you struggle a bit and then all of a sudden it clicks for you and after that you have no problems cloning.

It’s a sinch with the box. I just take the cut, clean it up, dip it in the powder and pop ‘er in the box. A week or two later when she’s got some roots, pot her in a solo cup and that’s that.

I’m really excited to keep a cut of the grandpa glue in rotation. Maybe I’ll try to grow a really big one that takes up half the tent at some point.. kinda like I inadvertently did with the NL

@MagicJim GF is short for Gasfruit which is the Sativa morphology pheno of Cookies n Chem. I really love her smoke, she’s got this watermelon thing going on with overlays of gas, and pepper. I was going to use my current run as a test to see which Cookies n Chem pheno I’ll be keeping. the PureGas pheno, which is tighter stacked and is more gas and pepper than anything else in aroma didn’t really get a fair go. she’s been shaded out since like week 2-3 of flower. So I’ll do another comparison later. for clarification, CnC 1 and 2 in flower right now are Gasfruit. The baby CnC is PureGas.

Flower Update day 35
Today is day 35, which marks the end of week 5. I’m starting to see some orange pistils here and there all over the tent.. mostly in the spots with the most intense light. These girls are going into their third phase of flower growth now. Soon they’ll start to swell and ripen. I shuffled things around so I could get some decent pictures of each girl alone. but as I was moving the plants, they started to get kind of floppy on me. I had to add some support to the SP as well as the CnC 2. This will be my last update with pics of each girl alone. I’ve had to anchor the CnC 2 to the lasko fan, so she won’t be moving again until it’s harvest day.

On with the photos!

that’s all I got for now. As always, I leave you all with a family shot.

Great photo set! Your girls are coming along very nicely. Few more weeks and you'll be ready for some chop chop. I'm very confident you're going to really enjoy that NL bud quality.

Thanks my friend.
So close to cutting down the NL I can taste it! She’s got this sneaky kind of frost. You can’t tell by looking at her from a regular distance cause of all of the pistils, but she’s basically dripping with resin. I’ve got another cut of my NL that’ll be going into flower as soon as the SP comes down. Speaking of the SP, she’s way stickier this run. I’m pretty sure it’s cause I’m pushing the nutes on her pretty hard. First run I just went with the recommended ml/gal, this time I’m going with the recommended ppm.

also I’m not sure if you’re taking notice to the trichome density on the a Cookies n Chem, but I think she’s the frostiest girl in the tent... may be an interesting one for you to pop in the future.

Welcome @ilikemsticky ! Glad to have you my friend.. yeah stick around, the Sour Bubba is the first girl in line for flower once there’s space.
thanks chef you have some nice things going on here loving those cncs one of them reminds of a ud I grew that looked a lot like it ill see if I can dig up a bud pic to show you!

Everything's looking great,Chef-that NL looks like 10x better than the one I grew...it was never quite "right",then I burned it up with a nute overdose...good smoke,though- just the ticket for a little nite cap...

Will probably be my go-to jar for post-work/pre-sleep meds. I’ve really been loving the Star Pupil for that though. It’s fairy light on the brain, but the body high is very strong. As long as I take enough hits it conks me out every time.

I was just checking my notes. The Nirvana NL flowered for 62 days and I harvested her on day 63 post flip. The Sensi NL I grew for buds was harvested at flip + 58 days. So not a whole lot of flowering time difference between the two strains.

NOW, if you follow the recommended flowering time of the Sensi NL from their site they say 45-50 days. Mine that I harvested at flip +58 days was grown with the intention of giving the flowers to a good friend who prefers an earlier harvest window. He smoked a tester that was 54 days post flip and said "Yep, she's done perfectly for me" so I cut her on day 58. The trichromes were probably 65/35 cloudy to clear. The pistils were maybe 2/3 of the way finished changing color. I can say that she was finished with her bulking up and was drinking 1/3 the amount of water she was drinking while in full flower mode. And her buds were like rocks. Be SURE to keep an eye out for Botrytis during the last two weeks. And if you see dead leaves sticking out of the buds pluck them off. The stem rotting inside the bud is a common cause of bud rot. I'll be curious/anxious to see if you have the patience to wait for her to reach perfection.

Good to know on the harvest windows, if that’s the case I’m probably going to be shooting for more like 63. I’ll let it go as long as it has to to get the 75% cloudy 5-25% amber I like.

It takes a lot of patience to wait it out that last couple weeks after the swelling is done and you’re just waiting on trichomes to change... but I’m not the kind of person to cut 5 months of work short by 2 weeks.. I’d much rather wait the extra week or two weeks.

oh wait now that I’m rereading, you say post flip.. not after first pistil. These girls are flip + 42, I’m trying to keep track of the time since first pistil also...just to see if it’s anymore accurate.

First thing I do everyday when I get home, make sure there are no dead leaves sticking out of any buds anywhere. I know that can be a serious danger. I think I’ll be okay though, the SP has rock hard nugs too and I didn’t have any rot or mold last run. I just gotta start staggering the waterings so the rH doesn’t skyrocket too much.
