CBD Joy: A Community Garden Experience

Rad, have you tried an infused oil in capsules for her at all? If she can find a baseline that manages most of her symptoms while her body heals she'd only have to fall back on vaping or smoking for breakthrough. I bet my life she'd love the buzz I've been enjoying with this fresh harvest oil. It's my favorite baseline so far. This is the most delightful euphoria. :laughtwo:

I'm expecting a two plant harvest around summer solstice - 2 heavy sativas, Carnival another month after that, with CBD Critical Cure a few weeks behind.
For over a year, it seems like oil is one or two harvests away. If the sativas bulk up I could take one of them for fresh oil, but then I might not be able to afford to also do CBD Critical Cure unless Carnival comes in at 4oz or more. I had earmarked CBD Critical Cure for massage oil, fresh harvest oil would be nice.

Getting only 1.5 oz out of Bubba's Gift (due to reveg) set me back - we only have 3.5 oz for the next month - so supply is tight again.
One of these days I might just get it together to grow enough bud - hope springs eternal :)

One ounce dedicated to fresh oil on harvest day will surprise her in how effectively it will hit her. You'd likely get the harvest to stretch twice as far Rad. We hesitate to "waste" the harvest on oils when the reality is the oils make the meds go much further and have a more profound healing effect. Tell her to trust me on this.
:hugs:

Day 5V for my babies. Growth continues and I'm reading as much as I can to prepare myself for oil, tincture, and other dosing possibilities. Even before harvest, I can't wait to get enough leaves that I can send some through the juicer. :)

Yer Babies are looking so cute

I've started my 1st body butter/cream...I can't wait...should be done tomorrow

On my 1st reaping of my efforts I'll then do a fresh CCO batch per Sue's recommend method...I can't wait

Thank you! I'm very interested in trying a body butter/cream recipe. Please tell me what you think when yours is ready. Even though I know I'll need more intensive dosing therapy, the cream seems like a great addition to a healing and pain control regimen.

The sweet thing about the creams is you can use them whenever. No limitations on dosing, because it doesn't get into the blood stream. I need to make one myself.

Excellent. :circle-of-love: So how well would a cream work on deep musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain?

I once made a batch for a member who has an inoperable broken osteo pin in his lower back. This pain cream gave him his first nap in over ten years. I'd say it works well for the deep musculoskeletal pain. The women on the topicals board I watched recently were unanimous about topicals offering relief, and even healing of neuropathy. Try to get THCa into the formulation. I'm advising 60% THC, 40% THCa and a smidgen of CBD. The THCa will be more effective than CBD in topicals.

This is amazing news! My Blue Dream CBD is supposed to be a 50/50, but I could also try combining my Candida (mostly CBD) and the Northern Lights (mostly THC). Have you ever tried combining strains for butters and creams to have control over the ratio of CBD and THC?

Sunday night was miserable with pain shooting down my right leg. It would radiate from my hip and end with my toes tingling. Tramadol, prednisone, and Soma didn't help at all, which means I never slept. My husband wanted me to call my Dr yesterday, but I declined. Why? Because, there is nothing else they can do. I've found the best help here. :hugs::Love:

With a pain cream the CBD isn't giving you the results you'd expect. That's why it's recommended to go with THCa. I personally haven't mixed strains for a pain cream. Before I learned of the secret of THCa I was focused on getting the highest THC values alone, because I knew from my studies that it was the THC in topicals that makes the difference.

I'm still figuring out how one gets THCa in there without much effort. This is a brand new game for us. I'm open to any ideas.

In your case, I'd use the Northern Lights.

The good news is that I like a challenge, so I'm getting ideas now about things to try. I better write them down so I don't forget.

May both my Northern Lights turn out to be ladies! I'll need plenty of material to work with. :MoreNutes:

I love the pain cream I made. It's perfect for rubbing on the sore spots until the oil I take orally takes effect. And, I personally think just the act of rubbing it on helps my sore spots feel better.

Isn't THCa the immature form of THC? If you harvest a bit early, and process it right away, you will have a higher % of THCa, because it has not had time to mature.

When you harvest there isn't any THC, it's all THCa. It's the decarb that changes it to THC, so the challenge becomes either controlling decarb to finish when about 60% of the THCa has converted to THC, or make two different extractions, process one for maximum THC and one for maximum THCa. This seems more reasonable to me. Alternatively, it could be done with a high THC oil, doing an additional extraction step without heat to get the THCa.

The frustrating part is knowing I won't be able to get them tested, and I don't yet own a tCheck. That would've come in real handy here.

Do you mind pointing me in the direction of the recipe you used? :battingeyelashes:

You'd be right about that. Rubbing any cream into the skin releases neurotransmitters that relieve pain. Massage is very supportive of the ECS. Supportive enough that it's always been my contention that every citizen on the planet should be able to get one good massage a week, don't you agree?

I'm not sure if you really want my recipe, Lady A. It took me two weeks to get it to come together the way it should. The list of ingredients is what I ended up using not what I started out using for the most part. I will share the link to the recipe with you but you might be better off checking out this thread on making canna creams and lotions instead:

Good luck.

Thank you, HashGirl! Good thing I started a binder this week to organize notes. LOL! I have more studying to do. :geek::reading420magazine:

My blog has Dave Groomer's recipe attached to it. That's the recipe I now use.
