Cause She's A Brix House - Noob's OG Kush & Carnival In DBHBB

I've had to readjust my thinking on tent temperature. I'm not seeing the decline I'd though I'd see by running hotter then I'd like. Great looking plants Noob, they look right for their age. Keep up the good work.

Thanks millertm. I'm beginning to think I will be ok too. They looked happy this morning. I haven't seen much signs of heat stress. I know you know what's up when it comes to high temps in a tent.

Cheers

How hot are you running millertm?

Eh, over 80, highs at or above 86, cutoff switch set at 88. Lights have to tripped yet. But I'm at the limit of what I thought photosynthesis stalls at however, plants look ok. To my surprise. But it's hitting triple digits soon. I'll black out tent for a day or two if Temps are over 88. This is my high temp class on growing cannabis so I hope I pass.

Cheers

You could always increase the humidity if the temps got over 88.

I've read that photosynthesis sites will become saturated at Temps over 85° (indoor growing not outside) but I'm starting to change my mindset. I'm on a narrow line with tent Temps as it is now but I'll figure out how to make it work.

Cheers

From what I've read, it's variable. Everyone pretty much agrees that 90 is too high without CO2. If you can keep the humidity in the 60s and 70s, a period of time with temps in the high 80s are just fine. Gotta keep 'em humid, though.

What happens if temps are too high and humidity too low? Does it stunt them, or worse?

Eh, I guess I'll show you here in a few weeks. Humidity takes care of its self in a tent. Cooler tent carries less humidity and I see it rise when Temps climb. Worst case I'll let tent go dark 24 hours and sit them outside for a day or two if needed.

I can't remember the term, but I've run into it a couple times, most recently on one of Doc's threads. It has to do with the balance between the atmosphere and the plant tissues during that pace of transpiration. More heat = more growth, so everything is working at max, and you get a deficiency. I think there are pressure balances involved too, plumbing stuff. There's a three-letter acronym for it ... :hmmmm: M-something?

[Edit] Found it - it's Vapor Pressure Deficit:

I've been having a hell of a time keeping my room in line with temp & humidity. I've been running 75 night time up to 86 day time temps but my humidity has been staying around 75-80 which puts it right in line with the chart that you posted Graytail. I quite worrying about it a couple of weeks ago as it didn't seem to be hurting anything and I couldn't figure out how to correct it without some major work cutting out a chunk of my wall to put in a window A/C. I just went through spinal fusion at the beginning of July and am not up to that kind of work at the moment though. I want to dial in my environment with temp & humidity but it's just not feasible at the moment. In fact I think it might be just the right environment that my sativa's are going to love. I just popped them 2 days ago. Hope to see them pop their heads up soon.

Hope u don't mind me popin in
But I been reading ur posts on temp and humidity.
I've never had problems with mid 80's for temps.except for some strains..so I don't Growem anymore...as for humidty..I keep mine low..55 or less
Only thing high humidty has done for me is cause bud rot and mold the last few weeks of flowering..
Quite frankly ya gotta pick a Strain that's tolerant to ur environment. .some plant love heat..some dont..
If you choose the right strains you wont be beating ur self up worrying so much..
This is what I found to be true..
Just not my opinion but is fact..
Peace everyone. .
Keep it green..

May I suggest doing some reading of Doc Bud's journals, he is the reason a lot of us are being soo successful these days as we're all pretty stoked to be using his "kit". It has taken all the guess work out of growing and is fun ta boot. Enjoy your stay here on the "mag'. We only ask two things of you entering our journals...please leave your EGo at the door and try and enter with a smile and good attitude...if ya do these things ...your golden around here and will get the fantastic treatment we all like to give. Cheers and congrats my brotha...ya just won the lotto with this group!:circle-of-love::Namaste::Namaste::welcome:

Pop in anytime you want to old school. Looks like I will be battling the temps throughout the rest of flower. They don't seem to be hindered by the extra heat though.

Hey Morglie! Welcome to my journal and the mag. As duggan said, you have just stumbled upon a growers paradise of information and great people with no attitudes and no egos. Pretty cool huh. It's like nothing I have seen on the Internet. You will see.

Cheers

Hi guys, im a noob grower too a d would like to share some data on humidity and temp. I am located around the equator and the combination of temp and rh can go pretty crazy. When it is raining and the temp drops, temp vs rh goes to around 26°c/99 and when it is super hot like at noon midday it usually maxes out at 33°c/60. I do not know what to make out of this really. Can anyone tell me of it is bad or good? My grow situation is a makeshift greenhouse so it has many openings and air moves as wind blows and there is a fan oscillating to help making sure that the air is moving all the time (its on 24/7). As for the usual combo it is usually 32°c/70-80. Lol i am really clueless about all this, but thankfully the stunt I have experienced only some deficiencies because apparently my soil didnt provide much haha. So much for compost soil. Sorry if this seems like a hijack of your thread noob4x4, i am just really really curious.

In that type of environment, you should be outdoors, no greenhouse. Grow a tropical Sativa, like something from Thailand, Vietnam, etc.

Let the rain do it's thing, along with the sun....you could get epic product, but probably ugly to look at and hermaphrodite to boot! But it will smoke like nothing else.

Welcome Mondsterns. I couldn't help you with your greenhouse questions. I would ask cola monster. He grows monsters in his greenhouse. As far as temps and humidity, I think you are probably ok as long as your plants aren't showing any signs of deficiency or heat stress. Your plants will tell you what they need. If you have any questions just ask. If I don't know, there is probably someone here that does.

Cheers

Edit. Listen to Doc. He definitely knows what he is talking about.

Exactly brother..like a always say. Dont chase problems u don't have..if the heat isn't bothering them no prob...the plants ALWAYS tell ya what they want or don't want..you know this by now. .
example..my crown royals were fine at 90 degrees with the leds 12 inches from them..they loved it..you saw the buds..now the bubble gum kush I have going..at 85 leaves are curling.they hate heat..so just read the plant.not some chart ..
you the man noob..
peace. Sending in reps ur way.you deserve em.
