Top of the afternoon to ya bud! this whisper i hear of you going LED excites my senses. your heat issues would be OVER. No more cooled hoods etc. If ya do your research and get a good one , and oversize it, put it right at the top and forget bout it!! I haven't , and won't touch my lights , all the way thru...hopefully , if these Lilly's behave for me after flip. You should see em bud....i'm gonna throw up some pics of the GR a lil later . I just love my LED's. Budmaster 2 is the shit ...i just love it! The Advanced XTE, 400 is a bit newer and is just what i wanted . For the longest time i wanted a powerful, long light to hang beside the BM and , just like SS said ...if ya want it bad enough ,...it will come to you....and it did ..thru an opportunity and friendship!

I've been putting off buying LED because I'm waiting for those boogers to get a little cheaper. Jesus, they're expensive if you want a good one! I have been tinkering around the idea of buying a bunch of Mars hydro lights and just stringing them together as I buy more like you have done.
I cut the netting down right before lights off, brotha. I'll post some pictures of these weird looking plants later.

I will say I'm digging this Amare SE 450. If it was in a tent I could see Zero heat issues. It has an awesome foot print and has awesome penetration with the COBs. Not on the cheap side but PAR numbers are better than the sun at the equator! Not trying to sell ya but our girls are frostier under LEDs than the ones under the HPS.

Waiting on some pictures buddy.

Ya Nis , me too bud, i just love my lights...no heat to deal with . Plus they work very , very good. I started in the 80's with homemade giant fixtures (4 x 8 ) made of plywood with the ballast's on the top and , i wired the sockets to the underside, worked great but the bloody thing weighed around 75 pounds with all the crap on it....then i discovered M.H. and H.P.S. fantastic , but never had to control the massive amounts of heat they produced cuz i had a lot more space back then. With this present set up i have going now, this time of year i could only ever run one 400 what H.I.D. light at a time ...two and it was way too hot! Then something called LED came about....never going back...just love em! Now the GR is literally packed with massive amounts of Par's. hitting them, one of the reasons we all see them grow like mad!

Ya bud , what Tard said here....good plan ...if your wondering just how much to take off...just look at them ...if you don't think the light will reach an area very well, down a bit in the foliage ....get rid of it, but.....if ya think your lights can get down to it fine, then leave it!

As a grower with NOT GOOD mars hydro led lights I think your wrong.but hey the proof is in the buds..ill put my $300 light up against a $1200 light any day of the week..cant believe I bought 7 crappy lights which half of them have been running for almost a year..dont get suckered into those overpriced fancy looking leds....

Yeah, I've had quite a few good harvests with mars lights...I was very happy with them but the ones im using now are definitely better. More usable light and run a lot cooler than the mars. I use the "precious metal" ones

Thanks Graytail. I am just trying to get a better tasting and smelling bud this time. My last harvest is turning out to be a little dissapointing in those areas. I know it has something to do with, not only the way I grew, but the way I dried. I'm in a low humidity area and I'm afraid I dried them too fast. Live and learn right?

Thanks buddy. I did raise the filter to the ceiling and I got my other light out of the veg closet. I haven't got it hooked up yet. I plan on doing that tonight.

Good idea Cannatard. All of the buds are above the pvc but I plan on going in tonight and checking for straglers.

I know I can grow with the Mard Hydro. It wasn't a knock on their product or your growing, I assure you. I just live by the mantra that you get what you pay for. Some times that doesn't ring true, but most of the time, it's dead on. I can't bash them too much because they will be all I can afford in the beginning anyways.

They are getting 5 gallons every 4 days right now. I will start checking them at 3 days now. They will be getting a transwater tonight.

UPDATE


I finally got the other light hooked up and vented. The temps got up to 95 degrees in there before I got the ventilation for the lights hooked up. When I last left the tent, it was 85. I'm thinking I might get some colors in my buds because it will get down to 70 degrees when the lights go off. I had to add some more fans to the upper part of the tent to control the temps. I also watered with a trans water this morning. They will get a destress spray before lights out.
