It's so amazing how different growers, growing the same strain, have very different looking plants. Mine had purple leaves with yellow tips towards the end. Yours is a beauty Groomer!

I ended up taking he down today. The USB microscope was showing enough amber. I will let you know the dry totals in a few days. I am hoping 100g plus or minus.
So...Carnival effect question. I recently harvested mine..no pics because she crashed and burned due to inattention. Work is a beast and sneaks up on one from time to time. I have found that she is excellent for pain relief at night...AND I dream...not only do I dream, but there is an element of control....ie. I know Im dreaming, and can direct it to some degree... This is the only strain Ive smoked to date that does this... Anyone else see this?

I am not sure I could sleep with the Carnival. My pheno is very uppy. If you let her go to mostly amber I could see that effect though.
Lucid Dreaming - This is the type of effect that caused the shamans of pre-history to carry cannabis with them as they traveled around the world.
So when it gets to harvest time, most of the tops will be harvested cloudy, but I'll let the rest of the plant get some amber.
- - - I'll put it on her grow card
I usually go10-15% amber. Maybe a little less for sativas and a drop more for indicas. I really depends on space that is available and what do I need? More uppy or more couchlock.
Oh my God! You have me smiling in celebration of Carnival!!! Nice presentation!CARNIVAL!!!
Welcome to the newest in a string of community grows. Graytail introduced me to Carnival, and mentored me through the successful cultivation of not only my first Carnival, but my first real adventure in raising a photoflowering strain. My deepest, most heartfelt thanks, my friend. You taught me much more about life during those chats than you realize.
What is it about Carnival? Let's start with the breeder's discriptive. From Ministry of Cannabis:
"Description
The word carnival reminds you of a happy atmosphere all around, of Venice and the thousands of people dressed like centuries ago, or of Rio, Brazil, where millions of people go crazy just for a few days a year. This strain has been designed to bring the carnival into your mind. The entire process of selection and crossing has been made in Spain. This is a cross between a Haze mother and a particular individual mostly sativa as father. Carnival has an extremely high content of thc: the laboratory test on our sample has shown an amazing 23,2%. This is not the only good note, the flowering time is really short for a plant that is 80% sativa.
Available in bags of 2 or 5 seeds.
Kind of seeds: female
Indoor/Outdoor
80% Sativa 20% Indica
Flowering Time: 9 weeks
Yield: 400-450 gr per sq. mt. indoor, up to 300 gr per plant outdoor
THC: Up to 23%"
Graytail and I have both described the high as a "meth-type buzz". What we mean by that reference is the clear-headed and heightened awareness accompanied with this boundless energy and general sense of cheerfulness one gets, or should I say I get, since I'm the only one I can speak for. The first time I tried my harvest I detailed my kitchen. Hahaha! Yeah, it's that much fun. I went in to make coffee and spent five hours cleaning every little inch of the room, humming a happy tune the entire time.
The pictures above are from my one and only venture into this territory. I pulled her a bit early to go on vacation, but she still gave me 59 grams, dry, so no complaints from this gardener at all. Those were some of my favorite brownies. I have my next generation coming out of the dirt as I type these words, and you can bet your life SweetSue will be perfecting the art of cloning. I see a dedicated Carnival grow in my future. Think of it, two tents dedicated to a perpetual garden of Carnival.
I think that would be a wonderful way to spend a year of my life. Carnival in the tents, Dark Devil Auto in the closet. Yeah, sweet.
Join me. Show off your own Carnival. Post some pictures of current or past grows. Beat your chest and celebrate another spectacular, easy to grow, quick-finishing strain with incredible THC levels and known for its frosty nature. Great meds, excellent recreational choice and a sheer joy to watch as she matures into beautifully fragrant, tightly-packed blossoms.
Yeah, I'm pretty sold on this one. Get yourself some seeds already. What are you waiting for? An invitation? Consider yourself invited.
Let's get this party going.

Carnival looks like a real seedling this morning

That is exactly where my wife likes me harvesting - except she asks me for full cloudy, zero amber on the uppy strains.
Her asking me to go for amber on Carnival is a breakthrough - she wants the lucid dreaming
I only smoke to sleep pain free...and I admit Im a real light weight. So far Im loving this... Id say 25% amber? Hard to tell because she dried out early, and I only take a hit or 3 before bed. But I love the taste.
Oh my God! You have me smiling in celebration of Carnival!!! Nice presentation!

My own baby is now at day 22. I think she's ready to be transplanted, but I'm not prepared to do so today, so it'll have to wait.
Graytail.... do you think an Energy drench would satisfy her for another couple weeks? I need to buy some time.
Good question. In my own garden, when I've had a youngster this color, I've had better results with Transplant. It would be more logical to use GE, feeding the plant directly and raising soil energy, but mine tend not to respond well, even yellowing more. A Trans drench has usually greened the top nicely.
If you drench with Trans/Tea this time, it'll give you time for a GE drench it you don't get a good response. You might even want to go double dose this time.
I will buy some seed. Give it a shot. I have been offline from growing the last 4 yrs. I am just returning with 4 seeds of Buddha Tahoe OG germinating. One has surfaced to be bathed in 6500k HO T5 bulbs in a 1'x4' fixture. I have 2 600watt air-cooled HPS fixtures ready in a small room. Then join us johmby. Are you growing one yet? We enthusiastically encourage you to explore this wonderful strain. The high is......... ethereal, in my case. Now we're exploring the idea of cultivating lucid dreaming by timing the harvest correctly. Can it get any better than that?
Well, well, this is a most intriguing conversation.
I miss lucid dreaming. I was always able to direct my dreams, and on occassion inspiration will speak to me in dreams. I wasn't aware it would be possible with the high THC sativas I prefer. This excites me. I have a Carnival within a month of harvest, and there's no reason not to let it go another week to amber up a couple of the colas.
What incredible timing, to learn of this possibility at the same time I begin my new job.
I was looking at the girls today. It was my hope that the mites would be dissuaded by the forest of sticky trichomes on the underside of the uppermost sugar leaves. Evidently that's not the case. These are hearty creatures.
Emerald's chugging right along at 151 days. Who can remember how long she's been flowering? I've lost track.
I'm figuring another two weeks and the first part of the harvest will come down.
It'll be interesting to compare the effects of the different stages of harvesting. I'll let you know what I feel.
She's lovely Rad. It's an incredibly hearty species.

I would think some extra EWC couldn't hurt either.

That's what I'm running also. Switching to LED soon.Old school growing equipment I run a 4' T5 HO CFL (4 Agromax Pure PAR tubes) for veg, and two air cooled 600W HPS for flower.
