Carnival: A Community Grow Experience

Ween, would you describe the fruit as raspberry? It always seemed a little citrus to me of course, but in a berry way. And it has a back-of-the-nose tingle that could be pine. Mine seemed more fuelly than pine. It's amazing how some odors combine to resemble others.

I'm not sure if it's because you planted in in my mind but I'm now smelling a fruity smell, kind of like artificial raspberry. It smells completely different after 1 day of drying, still yummy smelling. I confirmed this with my gf, didn't ask her if it smelled like raspberries, her first thought was strawberries then she said raspberry. At one point in flower I smelled the fuel smell I've heard about but that was short lived.

Trichs were rather amber when chopped. Can I expect more of a couch lock vs the energetic high?

:high-five: I think the best terps are in the 2-4 week range, especially in the summer when the bud in the tray stays moist. I pinch off a piece for the pipe and hold it to my nose first ... Mmm ... love it!

I did run one Carnival a week or two longer - 11+ weeks - and it was definitely heavier. I don't check trichs though, so I don't know for certain that it had more amber - one would assume yes.

Morning Sue!

Learning a bit about cloning myself--seems that sometimes the plants come out with a completely different pheno when cloning. I say this to mention that I've had plants that just refused to be perfectly happy (similar to your curled-leaf-friend there), but after taking a cutting can often get the clones to come out the way I was hoping.

Then again, there are other times, when even after cloning it's still a crap seed. Dont want to knock any companies too hard, I have yet to get any Tangerine Dreams going correctly...

I would think that would be more due to changed growing conditions....same plant, different environment. Ideally you would learn what she likes from the less than optimal mom...?

First off guys, how exciting is it to have so many of us growing Carnival? :woohoo: :slide: :yahoo:

Ok, had to get that out of my system. :laughtwo:

I wasn't aware of this possibility Stoney. I'm looking at a couple Carnival clones in the next week or so then. I'll have to get. That started tomorrow, if I want them potted up before paradise. There's one calling me from the hempy girl.

You see what I mean? :laughtwo: The thing begs to be bagged up. Lol!

...and I realise I just replied/referenced to a post that was from 12-29-16 :/ I think I need to straighten my head and go visit that pipe!

Welcome to the human race, as expressed in our digital neighborhood. I defy you to find a time I'm not floating above the crowd.

You had me reaching over to smell the jar I keep next to where I work. It's just for that occasional...... Well, you know. :battingeyelashes:

Good point. I haven't grown long enough, with enough deliberate attention, to notice trends. I wonder how long one stumbles along until understanding becomes instinctive? You know that's the way I'll play it. Lol! All my applied learning skills are otherwise directed at the moment. Nice to have cooperative plants.

I was on mite patrol with Carn1:4 today. While I was in there I trimmed her up a little more. She's at Day 101 and 17 days into flowering.

Just wanted to post a couple pics of my girl..19 days in the flower tent. There were a couple of light issues, but she weathered the storm pretty well. No excessive stretching :) .

She's looking beautiful ween. One of the things I like about the strain is how well they behave in flower. They only stretch a few inches and then set to beefing up. Mine should be done this week, if not harvested by the time I leave for vacation I'll let them dry out in the pots, something I've never done before.

Anyone ever dry a plant in the pot? I won't be drying them altogether, just leaving them for a week.

Not Ween, but im sure his are awesome too :) Im loving the shiny leaves

I love me some Carnival. I won't be growing any this next grow but I will be growing some Devils Carnival this next go round. That counts right?

Beautiful specimen mouser. :high-five: I'm hoping for healthier this round. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Yes, RedDragon, it does count, but Nis has a dedicated thread for the cross. I don't mind any intermingling though. :battingeyelashes:

I just jarred up my bathroom Carnival Clones. Got a total of 93 grams between the four plants, 51 grams from the compromised and overloaded soil and 42 grams of Carn1:3, grown in kit soil.

Carn1:4 was harvested today. Time to rid the apartment of her mites. She feels like she'll end up between 2 and 3 ounces dry. I'm gonna let her hang for a full week.

Given the mite infestation I won't turn this one into oil, but will use it exclusively for brownie oil. That way any leftover mite bits become nutrition instead of oil pollutant.

Tomorrow I'll scrub down the tent with a diluted Clorox wash, drop the next seed and start another round with fresh soil. :slide:

Growing this beautiful strain again. Please join me on the journey. I will also be growing a strain of Canna Montana and Nismo20's creation that is a mix of Carnival and Dark Devil Auto. Should be fun. Link is in my signature.

The adventure continues. :blunt:

One I forgot to post.

Carn1:4 gave me a clear ounce and a half, even with the trouble with mites. :slide: Smells unbelievable. The strain really loves Doc's kit.
