Sigh! They talk about abolishing it all the time but we still do it.
So typical of so many simple things.Yep, we still have to do it as well. Ours changed today to fall back an hour. Currently 10:00 a.m. Sunday. They talked about it last year, if I remember. But It has stayed the same.
Thank you RR!Looking good Carmen Ray. Have a great day.
Thanks OtterSweet green start!
Woohoo, we are we are, thanks Gee man!Looks like you're both off to a good start!
Hey RR! Good to see you here buddyDo you guys change your clocks twice a year like we do? stoned minds need to know.
Thanks Uncle, they are looking pretty good thus farCongratulations on your first born @TassieTurtleman looking nice & healthy
How interesting, seeing as you buried your's straight in the dirt and I did a germination processSame!
Thanks Carmen!Congrats Tassie! It's going to be interesting to see how they develop in the different environments, yours and mine!
Holy shit batman!!!Today I topped up the soil in my seedling pots, and adjusted the light. I turned it down to 5 % intensity and so they are getting 230 ppfd. I will give them 18/6 hours of light for now. The Big Angel auto is displaying quite fast growth.
Thanks Gee manLooks like you're both off to a good start!
Thanks Stone!Sweet green start!
I don't know if you can adjust the colour temperature with your device but that is why colour is rendered differently or inaccurately, using the flash may rectify it because the camera knows it's flash lighting [5500-6500K]I've currently got all my girls on a 24/0 light schedule, something I've been experimenting on autos recently with, seems like they're doing well so far
Here are my Super Mazar Auto sprouts at day 4!
#1 has smaller growth, but is more leggy.
#2 has bigger growth, but is shorter.
Here are my Big Angel Auto sprouts at Day 4!
Carmen was definitely right about the Angel's, the growth is a bit quicker than the Mazars and as you can see on #1, the stem is a red/maroon colour
I know it's super early days, but I think both mine and Carmen's girls are gonna be STARS
Hey Carmen, just a quick question!
When I took my photos and uploaded them, the green in my photo is almost as vibrant as yours. But in real life that's definitely not the case. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra for pics
So are yours truly that colour or is the photo cleaning them up a bit?
Over to you girl
Hey RoyI don't know if you can adjust the colour temperature with your device but that is why colour is rendered differently or inaccurately, using the flash may rectify it because the camera knows it's flash lighting [5500-6500K]
Hi TassHey Roy
I don't believe I've seen an option to adjust the colour temp, I'll have a better look a bit later though. I like your thoughts about using the flash, I had the same idea. But I figured seeing as I'm taking the shots while the girls are directly under the grow light, that it would be very similar to using flash and that it wouldn't make much difference, so I didn't try. I could definitely be wrong though, photography is definitely not a speciality of mine
Thank You! It's good to be here Tassie. Interesting, I did not realize the Aussies did daylight savings time too.Hey RR! Good to see you here buddy
As I've just read, where Carmen's at she doesn't. But yes, in every state of Australia apart from one, we change ours twice a year
I am using a Nikon D7100 with a Tamron 90 mm f2.8 Macro lens. For these photos I am using the onboard flash covered by a piece of paper to mute the flash. I shoot in RAW. I don't adjust the colour. I too am shooting under the grow light but at low intensity. I have my light balance on auto. The plants in my last two grows have had a deep green shade. When I took my photos and uploaded them, the green in my photo is almost as vibrant as yours. I mix 50 % soil (I amend my soil after each grow) with 50 % Freedom Farms cannabis seedling mix:When you said you planted in a seedling/soil mix, was that a premade seed raising mix? Or your own concoction?
They have a way of balancing things out over time. Thanks Stone!
We've started like a house on fire
I just wish mine were as green as Miss Carmen's
Thanks Roy!Hi Tass
The camera will use the flash setting over ambient light and power the flash enough until it gets enough true colour - try it - but don't have a close background or you'll get a horrid shadow
No worries buddy, good to have you! I've missed our chatsThank You! It's good to be here Tassie. Interesting, I did not realize the Aussies did daylight savings time too.
Wow!! That's a great camera you've gotI am using a Nikon D7100 with a Tamron 90 mm f2.8 Macro lens. For these photos I am using the onboard flash covered by a piece of paper to mute the flash. I shoot in RAW. I don't adjust the colour. I too am shooting under the grow light but at low intensity. I have my light balance on auto. The plants in my last two grows have had a deep green shade.
I think the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a pro camara setting. You can change the white balance there I think. Look for "More" in the camera mode.
That's a great mix!! Very organic and environmentally friendlyI mix 50 % soil (I amend my soil after each grow) with 50 % Freedom Farms cannabis seedling mix:
"Ingredients: Prepared Coco Coir, Fine Vermiculite, Fine Perlite, Premium Earthworm castings, Volcanic Rock Dust, Bone Meal, Gypsum, Freedom Farms Bokashi, Bacillus thuringiensis (fungus gnat larvae prevention), Trichoderma harzianum (soil borne pathogen prevention)."
This is what the plants looked like earlier. They are growing quickly.
Well that's seriously unlucky! Being colourblind and having poor eyesight to bootraw files are too much faffing around for me, plus I'm colour blind and my eyesight isn't good anyway
Not a great CV for a photographer lol
That is sooo true. I was kinda just giving Carmen an indirect compliment hahaThey have a way of balancing things out over time.
Not if you find your Pro settingsThanks Roy!
That's a very good point, I'm on the same wavelength as you now. The only thing is though, as far as I know, the AI built into the Samsung cameras has hardcoded settings to make all your pictures more vibrant and colourful, so I think no matter what I do, I'm always gonna be clashing with that.
Have fun! You may develop a new hobby! But I'll give it a crack tomorrow and see how we go, can't hurt to try
No worries buddy, good to have you! I've missed our chats
Least now I know where the couch went from my other journal
Us Aussie's will have a crack at pretty much anything LOL!!
Wow!! That's a great camera you've got
I forgot that you know a fair bit about photography, dunno how that slipped my mind.
You're right, the S24's have a million settings that I don't even know exist LOL!!
I haven't really had a proper play with the camera settings, I might have to give that a go and if I can't figure it out, I'll sing out for help
Thanks Tassie. I agree they look alike. That's promising. I am not seeing red in the stems of my plants though. That's a great mix!! Very organic and environmentally friendly
Mine is quite similar, except I feed with synthetic nutes
Your sprouts are looking great, mine are about the same size! Do your Angels have reddish stems or is it just mine?
Sure, I usually upload a weekly update with a spreadsheet inspired by HashGirl. It's a nice record keeping device and makes it easy to compare notes. We could have one formal weekly update, and then whatever casual, random photos. How does that sound? Also I was thinking, should we have a set time to upload pics? As in, like every 2 days or even everyday? Or should we just upload whenever we feel necessary? I'm pretty easy with whatever, but I thought it would be good to be in sync for the best comparison possible for our audience
Awesome.I'll upload some new pics in a minute
Thank you for the compliment! Yours are just fine!Well that's seriously unlucky! Being colourblind and having poor eyesight to boot
You would've been a great photographer back in the 20's
That is sooo true. I was kinda just giving Carmen an indirect compliment haha
I'm sure mine will be as green and pretty as hers someday
Seems like the universe is trying to tell me somethingNot if you find your Pro settings
Have fun! You may develop a new hobby!
You're welcome! Yeah I can definitely see the similarities. Hmmm not sure what's causing the red then, it's more so in #1 than #2. Maybe some sort of additive in my soil reacting with somethingThanks Tassie. I agree they look alike. That's promising. I am not seeing red in the stems of my plants though.
Ooo yeah she does damn good spreadsheets, I was catching up on her journal earlier! I'm happy to do a formal weekly update, I won't be able to do a spreadsheet as everything is done off my phone, but I'll make do with something. Maybe like a debrief.Sure, I usually upload a weekly update with a spreadsheet inspired by HashGirl. It's a nice record keeping device and makes it easy to compare notes. You're most welcomeThank you for the compliment! Yours are just fine!
Maybe.I'm sure mine will be as green and pretty as hers someday
