Carmen And Tassie Compare Notes: Big Angel And Super Mazar Autos

While we wait for Tassie, I'll post a pic or two :)

This is my Big Angel auto that popped its head out of the soil yesterday.

My Super Mazar has a root in the soil and is busy sprouting atm.

Have a fabulous weekend!
great pics once again Carmen, first pic looked a bit scary with that membrane hanging on but glad she opened up for you

I wonder if @TassieTurtleman is awake yet. I'm heading towards midnight at the top of the hour. It'll be interesting to know how far apart we are in time. He is in the future I believe.

Tassie, get yer ass in here and tell us where yer at :high-five:
Hey gurrrrl!! 👋
I'm so sorry! I'm always late to these things, I definitely won't make it a habit.
Yesterday I was flat out busy with this new girl I've got, but I won't bore everyone with the details! That's what my journals for 🤣
Pretty sure I am in the future, it's 2:07pm here right now!

Your little sprouts already look soooo amazing 👏

Hey everyone that's tagging along for our journey together, we are gonna have so much fun with this 😀

So here's where I'm at:
I put 4 seeds in paper towel for germination the other day (2x each strain)
All had solid taproots, I planted night before last in some solo cups using the @Bill284 method. They've all broken soul this morning, but are yet to ditch their seed pods and open up the cotyledons.
I'll post some pics when I get home tonight 📸

Just wanna say, you did an absolutely amazing job on the intro @Carmen Ray I'm so glad we're doing this together, we're gonna have soo much fun!!

No worries Tassie, we're just free wheeling and shooting the breeze :surf: In your own time!

Ok so you are 9 hours ahead of me and I am 6 to 8 hours ahead of much of America, depending on time zone. I am currently 2 hours ahead of Britain.

Thanks! I'm about to post a couple of pics of the Super Mazar auto sprout that came up overnight.

Yes! Looking forward to some pics.

The very first thing we could compare is germination times from dry to sprout. What is your process and how long did it take for your pips to sprout? Mine went into moist soil / seedling mix on Tuesday and it took 4 days and 6 days respectively for my seedlings to emerge from the soil.

Thanks Tassie and yes we will! 🥳

Thank you Con. It's my fault I think. I don't bury them properly all the time.
:woohoo: great start for the mazar ,, she push out of the soil trouble free by the looks 🤙
Thanks No.3, I had to remove the membrane on both sprouts. I think I am too tentative when I bury them. I must try a bit deeper possibly.

I too plant seed shallow & often remove the seed shell ,, I find it better than sowing seeds deeper , usualy takes longer to pop there heads ,I get impatiant , start digging to see whats going on , have lost seeds that way ,, duuh ,, lol,, :lot-o-toke:
Take care & peace to all , 🤙✌️
Yes! I can relate

Wow! I'm super impressed, you sure do know your time zones!!

What a grand idea 💡
So I put my 4 pips in a glass of water on Wednesday night for 24hrs, then they went into moist paper towels Thursday night, with a heating pad keeping them at around 26°C.
By Friday night, all 4 had really good looking taproots!
So Friday night they were planted into their solo cups at about 1/4 inch depth, with only just a tiny bit of the seed showing above the surface!
They were all above ground by Saturday night.
Today (Sunday night) they've all ditched their helmets (with a tiny bit of help from my steady hands) and cotyledons have opened up.
So in summary, 24hrs in water, 24hrs in paper towels and 2 days in the dirt.
4 days total from seed to sprout!
I think that's pretty damn good 👌

Hey Uncle,
This is such a common thing I think alot of us do!
I too always find it better to plant shallow and then can remove the helmet/membrane if need be 😉

Do you guys change your clocks twice a year like we do? stoned minds need to know.

No, we have no daylight savings. Everyday is the same length as the day before, everyday of the year :hippy:I heard that the US is considering doing away with daylight savings, is that right?

They talk about abolishing it all the time but we still do it.

Yep, we still have to do it as well. Ours changed today to fall back an hour. Currently 10:00 a.m. Sunday. They talked about it last year, if I remember. But It has stayed the same.

4 days total from seed to sprout!
Same!

Here are my Super Mazar Auto babies

And here are the Big Angel Auto babies
Congrats Tassie! It's going to be interesting to see how they develop in the different environments, yours and mine!

Today I topped up the soil in my seedling pots, and adjusted the light. I turned it down to 5 % intensity and so they are getting 230 ppfd. I will give them 18/6 hours of light for now. The Big Angel auto is displaying quite fast growth I think.

Happy Monday!
