Carestaker's Chemdawg Crosses In Soil & Coco - 2016

UPDATE: Local Temps have increased enough, so that I was able to remove the heating mat yesterday. Normally I would remove that after they are a couple of days old. They will certainly appreciate cooler roots, and warmer canopy temps, but the extra warmth was needed, and it helped me dry those out those wet feet quickly.

RH has increased a bit too, so my environment just got a good bit better. I want to make note too, that much of what I've done so far is not optimal, but a workaround, due to space constraints, temps/environment, and a busy schedule. If I had a dedicated and temp controlled space to Veg, I would do many things differently.

Now that they are under the XML350, I can start putting the rest of the pieces together to get them dialed in. Their space is almost ready, and they are getting older, so I'll soon need to get them on better light schedule (18/6) with fewer interruptions so they can sleep, and develop better roots. I uppotted ECSDH last night, the rest will get done today. :cheer: Peace and love ya'll. :circle-of-love:

Nice prizes there. I'm almost green. LOL!
You're going to love LED my friend. :cheer:

:thanks:

Nice grow CS! That XML is a super sexy unit my friend! :thumb:

Thanks STIHL! :thanks: I'm hoping to have some beauties soon enough - I did some potting today. The XML is super nice, and it's a pretty slick case and design. I'm noting the difference in the plants already - it's got a great Veg spectrum, so I've ditched the CFLs. It makes life so much easier. :cheer:

Yes I agree! Very pretty, and at a price point even us non contest winners can afford LOL!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

:thumb:

I was surprised to see that they had lowered the price!

Great lights from what I've seen. No actual experience with them but I've seen lots of grows where they keep up with "just about" all others. At around $500-$600 it's hard not to give them a serious looksy :)

I've found the CFLs to be very efficient for vegging. They did the job nicely on Panama and Orient Express in my last round. This round I'm using LEDs to veg after the delicate seedling stage. I'm finding they seem to be thicker and healthier over all. Wish my led had a vegging switch on it. That xml is bad ass. I'm currently looking for a pure veg LED panel. I wonder if the LED light bulbs are any good. Anyone ever try it? Costco is currently selling a 3 pack of 60 watt (9.5 actual watts) 5000k light bulbs for only $4. I may need to give it a try on a freebie seed.

Hm....what price drop? The xml 350 is still nearly a grand. Perhaps you were looking at the price for the XML 150?

Everything looking great CareStaker. Lots of info packed into your vids. Nice new light...more on the way it sounds like. Going for the Graytail & drcannabi style light farm? Love it! Forgot what % coco you're using, but will mention that coco, unlike peat based mixes, works better when not allowed to go completely dry. Probably no issue since you're mixing peat & coco.
:Namaste:

Good Catch Stage, Yep, I was looking at the 150. The 350 is almost a grand. Still a good bang for the buck IMHO! :Namaste:

Oops, yeah. I didn't bother with the dropdown 'cause I knew it couldn't be the 650. Forgot there was a 150. Oh well. :cheesygrinsmiley:

It's a nice panel ... ! :slide:

Well deserved goodies being put to use! :)
Thanks LA! :thanks: I'm going to put them to great use! :high-five: Have fun at Spannabis! I love the photos, if you manage to grab a couple - maybe the private frig. :) Hope you and the missus enjoy every second. :Namaste:

I like CFL for the first week, then LED, when I get a choice. I tried those LED 9.5w and didn't like them much, but I didn't really give a good go. I went back to the 32w Agrosun CFL. I was going to build a Veg panel using 5000K Cree CXB3595 80CRI chips, but it's another thing I might not get too. :19 There's some nice options out there. :Namaste:

I shoulda picked up the 650 when they are on presale for like 1200. Nicer than I though. I have 3 of the DS100w, and this is a good step up. Spectrum is more Veg friendly. I'll get them looking good, and will show you the color. :Namaste:

I'm VERY pleased with it, there's more value there than I had imagined. The 650 must be a blast. I'm thinking of running a long LED array on either side of it and eventually getting rid of the HPS. I've been saying that for like 2 years now, so what do I know. I'm not even sure if I'm the person that makes my schedule anymore - you know haah!?

Thanks Brother. :Namaste: I'm at about 25% by total volume. I mix 2parts soil (FFOF), 1 part coco (Basement), 1 part perlite, and then amendments. What do you think? I'm seeing some nice things at a garden that is using this mix, along with my feeding schedule. They are just out of transition, so there have been no testers yet. Do you think I'll be able to water/feed them soil style? You know, I want sticky frosty white covered gems. ;) :volcano-smiley:
Just slipping through to say hello Care... hope you are having a blessed and green day...:circle-of-love:

Lady D, you always leave a trail of :circle-of-love: in your wake, when you slip on past. :circle-of-love:

That 30 brix has you crosseyed.

Plants are looking good. I can see that I am getting close to getting the right color on them. Bubba's gift is still a bit wrinkly, but she'll grow out of it. Pics soon. :Namaste:

Sorry brother....forgot that you're using mostly peat. What I said about not letting coco dry out is for straight coco or high % coco. I water the organic coco mix the same as any other soil mix, but don't let it get completely dry. Not sure if it's direct cause, but since I watered the coir heavier & more often, I haven't had any more hermies. ALL your buds are crusted white gems...no worries there!
:Namaste:
