Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

I don’t have the space for her..

Come to think of it, my seeds are not fems...so I should grow 2 of them out, and hope for a female.
They both have little tails this morning, so that's encouraging...
They had a Lowryder#2 auto mom,and a Northern Lights/Afghani daddy,so I guess there's a slim chance that they may be autos...but I'm not really sure if the auto genetics work that way...

Hiya carcass :) I think someone may have suggested this to you in the last, but have you checked out the flux grow method by Light Addict on here? He’s pretty amazing at sculpting plants, etc. but I thought it might fit well into your space, especially if you did just one.

I’m not 100% sure about the auto aspect, but I’d say that since ruderals are in the lineage, there is a very real chance at your bag seed being an auto too.

Nah, if one of the parents is a photo, all of the progeny will be photo period.. if you go ahead and make F2s out of what you grow though, then you’ll have a small percent that will be autos.. I think something like 25% but I don’t remember exactly.

True enough, provided you have a large enough sample. With an auto / photo cross in a large enough sample, you should get 25% pure photo, 50% photo with a recessive auto gene, and 25% pure autos. Drop a dozen and there's no telling what you'll get.

A little bit-I saw his "Deathstar"-he's a talented grower! I may employ his method a bit ,since my upcoming grow is turning out to be photos,so I'll have lots of time for training

I kinda figured that, and I've resigned myself to a photo run next...

I've got about 50 seeds of this auto x photo cross,so there may be a few autos in there-but it would take years to find them at the rate I go through seeds....although,when they're duds,I go through them pretty fast... :)

The only way you would find autos in that batch of seed, is if your NL/Afghani daddy had ruderalis genes in him somewhere. If that is not the case, it is an absolute impossibility that their offspring have auto flowering traits. Half of every seed’s DNA is photoperiodic, which is the dominant trait. The trait it will always exhibit... don’t mean to drop the hammer on your hope of an auto, but it’s the reality.

I should contact the Geopot folks and see if they'd swap out the 10g for 5g. 10g is just too big for my tent. I understand the concept of promoting your product and giving away nute kits, but from a growers standpoint, if I won POTM using something different than your product, why would I change?
Tardy to the party.

I contacted geopots and they sent me five gallon velcro bags instead of the 10s. Sorry if my response is too late to be of any help.
I did contact them twice and never received a reply but they sent out the 5s for me.

Was that before the prize was received or after? I already have the 10's. Should have contacted them before they were shipped but did not. In essence I'd be asking for a return and replacement at this point.

It was before they sent them.

If you pay postage they might entertain the idea. Never hurts to ask.

Hi carcass:love::love::love:
Hope you are having a wonderful day.
So far,so good,VG!
Just watching my 2 cups of warm dirt, waiting for something to sprout...pretty exciting stuff! :)

No real update today- my seed killing spree continues...I'm up to 5- I'm killing soaking a Northern Lights fem, and a bagseed labeled 'good stuff' now, so I should know by Wednesday if they're going to go or not.
Mrs.C. looked at my solo cups on the warmer, and asked "aren't there supposed to be little plants in there?"........Yes,Hun...that's the idea...
I'll get it figured out...eventually. :)
Needless to say,on the off chance that something grows,I'll be back in a few days with a real update...

It is a funny/not funny thing...and it's actually getting funny now...I'm thinking of renaming my seed stash to "death row" :)

Thanks,Flagg !
Do you ever feel your seeds shiver when you pick em up?
If they had legs, they'd run away when they see me coming....

Hope your luck with the seeds turn around soon for ya!
Thanks,BL! things are looking up- I let @SeedsMan know about the 25% germination rate on my last seed order (2 of 8 sprouted)- I didn't expect replacements, since it's been about 5 months since I got those seeds- But they're sending out 9 replacement seeds- they gave me a choice of 11 different strains- 3 packs of 3 seeds each...
That's damn good customer service!
So things are looking better,at least for a future grow...This grow, however,is still stuck in the mud- I think I may finally have a few that are going to sprout...or not ;)

I'm sad but laughing... is that normal?
Lol, only in America. I don’t think it’s normal for you Canads. ;)

Sorry to hear about the seeds carcass :(
Where do you store them? I wouldn’t think they would go bad on you in that short of time. Are you thinking they were duds from the beginning?

Hi,HH ...
I don't think it's the way they were stored-that lowryder of mine was stored the same place (my sock drawer) and it was a 5 year old seed, and it sprouted fine.
I think they were just bad from the start-they were tiny and light colored,as if they'd been harvested before they were quite ready...and they started off badly- I initially had 3 duds before I got 2 that sprouted, and those 2 took a long time to come up-although they grew fine after the delayed start.
I thought it was pretty nice of Seedsman to send out replacements-I just sent them an email to gripe a little,(didn't think it'd do much good) and boom!-fresh seeds on the way!
