Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

It only takes a few weeks to get smooth and tasty but with a living soil grow you get that from the get-go and you don't even need to flush b4 harvesting
Just purchased some eco-thrive living soil to try next run. cant wait to try it.

Excellent! You will be pleased...I have found that it works best in a grow bag, the bigger the better. I would use one at least 20 - 25 gallon capacity. Also I found that it is best when used at a rate of 1lb per 5 gallon ofvcapacity. So if in 25 gallon container, use 5 lbs of living soil and mix it well with a quality organic blend of organic gardening dirt. Blend it into the bottom 1/3 of the container. Have started using it in my indoor grow as well. I will be doing so exclusively from here on out. Enjoy

I didnt know i could mix it for more. The info says to use it as is so was planning on 2 x 20L fabric pots for the autos. Only bought 40 litre bag to do a side by side with coco. I do want to go all organic after reading so many "no till" threads but hard to make it up in the uk myself so found this uk company that do it. they do a booster tea to add every 2 weeks if this eco-thrive is as it states with no nutes ect.. Any advice welcome on the mixing this product to make a bigger amount to use for more pots as never done a soil before either. been growing decades too. lol

What you have then is not a true living soil. Likely it is a good gardening soil pre-mixed with living soil. Try Kind Soil or one of the many others for sale or you can go wildcrafting to collect all necessary ingrediants from nature yourself like a friend of mine still does.It is easy her in Oregon to findall of it but takes much time and effort. Too much for this broken soldier these days. I buy it on amazon for around 40 bucks for 5lbs. Cheaper than ferts. And easier than ferts. Once you mix it in the grow bag, nothing else is ever needed other than good clean water at 6.3 ph. No tap or distilled water though.

Happy Monday,All!
I've got a little chunk of time today,so what better way to spend
it than a little journal update....
Not a lot going on with the girls this week-there's not a whole lot you can do with them at this stage, other than play the waiting game...and prop up an occasional branch or 2...

Here's the usual top-down shot on their little compartment-Northern Lights on the left,Peyote Critical on the right...

Gave the NL a little flush this morning to wash out the old nutes,& make room for a fresh dose-ran about 12 gallons of just water through the pot, then gave her her usual nutrient dose
I think she's got about 3 weeks to go,but the trichomes will let me know for sure

The PC is getting real close to harvest-spotted just a couple of amber trichs on her buds this morning:

And then there's little Ms.Cheese outside-other than a few whiteflies and a couple of leafhoppers, she's doing great-about 8" tall now:

And that's about all I've got for today...been busier than I like to be for the last few weeks-but I'm seeing a light at the end of that tunnel now,so that's a good thing...

I'll post some pics of the PC harvest, which is probably going to happen on Thursday or
Friday,time permitting...:)

Thanks for stopping by!
Sorry for the abbreviated update, but it's all I could get done today....
Hope to see you next week, and Thanks again- I appreciate the support...:peace:

Never done a journal before,so bear with me....

Low Ryder#2 auto seeds................................. "
Bagseed#3 seeds.............................................. " ( from bagseed#2,she was a beast)

Oneo LED grow light from the zon .......$100.00 (1000 watt claimed/200watts at the wall) (not blurple)
Home Depot 2'x2'x44" wardrobe box ... $18.00
1.5 cu.ft. Black Magic organic potting soil...$18.00
x4 reflective windshield shades................$4.00 (Dollar Tree)
x3 - 4" USB fans ............................................$6.00 ($2.00 each,99cent store (wtf?)
Mega Crop 750g free sample....................$3.80 (paid for shipping)

Total:...........................................................$149.80
I already had everything else-packing tape,material for drip tray,ph tester,etc

So here's a few pics of what's going on up till now:

So here's where it all started: (My custom seed warmer, which doubles as a stove)

Only one popped,so the next step was:

2 2_1_19.JPG

Now here's where it gets interesting (to me,at least)-On Feb.1 ,I stuck 4 seeds in the ground outside my kitchen window just to see if they would pop in this cold, wet environment -the daytime temps were in the high 50's,nightime was low to high 30's, and it was raining, which it did for 20 of the 28 days in Feb.

So,I was a pleasantly surprised on the 11th when I found this going on:)ya gotta look close, there's 2 seedlings there-NlxBB on the left,Bagseed#3 on the right)

in the cold 21419.JPG

It took them 10 days, but they actually popped! (didn't really think they would)
Well,I couldn't just leave them there,so,after a day or 2, I brought them inside in solo cups and put them in "the box" with the Low Ryder#2,which got off to a very slow start:

4 2_18_19.JPG

A day after I brought them in,another Bagseed#3 popped...I left it outside to see what it would do, There will be more about that one a little later...

Fast forward to Feb 3 -topped NLx BB, fimmed Bagseed 3,and started LST on the Low Ryder#2:

Here's how they looked 2 days ago (15th):LoRyder on the left,NLxBB bottom right,

That Northern LightxBigBud is rapidly becoming a monster, and I'm rapidly finding out just how small a 4 sq. ft. growspace really is....

It's soon going to be like trying to stuff 2 pounds of $hit in a 1 pound bag,as my dear old Dad used to say....

So that's about it for now, except for that little plant outside under the kitchen window...
(I'm going to call it a she until she shows me otherwise)
How's she doing,you ask?

Here she is 10 minutes ago-growing a bit:) slower than her 2 indoor buddies, but still growing, despite nightime temps in the mid 30's to mid 40's-(she's a bagseed#3,btw...)

The days are starting to finally get sunny,so she may surprise us all soon...

Well, that's about it for my first installment, but I'll be updating often...

I just wanted to add that I'm really liking that light-lo budget or not-it's surpassing my expectations so far...

@MrSauga -wanted to let you know, I finally got around to doing this:thumb:
Amazing! o_O

LOL!

Plants look great! I'm curious if you get another pistil push on the NL after the cleanse. Yours is further along than mine, but that's what I saw two days after I did it.

Have a great week and we wait with bated breath for the harvest pics. :nomo:

This guy stopped by (again) to soak up a little shade today....
We were talking a little, and he mentioned how much he likes my little palm trees- I said thanks, but it's not a palm, it's cannabis....if you know who he is,you'll know what he said...
"Oh Nooooooooooooooo !"....as he ran off into the weeds....

Carcass should I be pruning all the leaves at the bottom of my branches like yours so they’re bare? Or is that an indoor only thing on small plants? Is there anything I should be doing with mine at this stage pruning wise like taking of bottom branches or should I just leave them alone you think?

Those buds look amazing Carcass. Nice fade too. Going to be smoke great smoke:passitleft:

That's sort of up to you-I never did on my outdoor grows-my reasoning being that as the sun moves across the sky,the different angles get light to just about everywhere on the plant,so I didn't see a reason to "thin" out the plant-in an indoor environment though, the light generally only comes from directly above the plant,so you need to open up the light path so it penetrates deeper below the main canopy...
Plus,I'm a bit lazy and it seems like a lot of work...:)
For an example of someone who's not lazy ,check out @InTheShed 's post 14,548 here:
*InTheShed Grows Autos & Photos, Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time.

He does an excellent job of thinning all of his plants, which keeps the plant from wasting resources on the lower, larfy stuff-and His yields reflect the care he puts in to every plant.
So there's my lazy "let em do what they do" method, or Sheds "let em do what they do,but help them do it better" method, which will pay off with bigger buds "up top"
So it's really up to you, just how much time you'd like to invest in adjusting your plants for
maximum output...

Nice! I’d like to trim atleast some but I’m scared of stress from trimming no don’t even like taking leaves off haha :p I’m a wimp

I'm curious if you get another pistil push on the NL after the cleanse
I think you called it, Shed- she's not going crazy with new pistils, but at least twice as many as she had on Sunday...they were declining, now they seem to be coming back a bit...

Hey Carcass, those buds are looking amazing! :bravo: can't wait to see you chop em' down, not much longer!
Ms. Cheese seems to be loving the outdoors.

Thanks,Irie !
I was going to harvest the PC this week, but I noticed the "secondary" buds are still putting out a few pistils and getting bigger,so I've decided to give her a little more time.
Still no amber trichs to speak of,so she gets to hang around a little longer...
