Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

In my defense, it was barely Monday when you posted this... :)

Whenever I put something somewhere safe so I don't lose it... when I end up needing it, I can never remember where that "somewhere safe" is... :hmmmm:

I thought it probably wasn't CBGa, or the seller would have pointed that out...there's a place called Rhizo Sciences.com that does sell CBGa isolate-$37.00/gram, so almost ten times as much as straight CBG isolate...but worth it if it actually helps protect you from covid...

Annnnnd- Now it's Monday Update time, @Trala !
Happy MLK Day everyone! :peace:

The 90 day old Blueberry Hill is doing well..not any taller, but things are starting to fatten up a little...
She was flipped to 12/12 27 days ago

The SaugaView®:

She's a hungry little thing- being fed every other day-7g/gal/mc + 1.25g (2 scoops) of @Blue Planet Nutrients "Easy Weed"as a flowering supplement...she's staying nice and green so far- not even any yellow leaves down at the bottom of the plant...

A little different angle:
3.jpg

I've been slowly turning the light up...got it to 240watts on Thursday, and noticed on Saturday that some of the upper leaves didn't like it much, so I turned it back down to 220 watts- that's probably where it'll stay from here on in...
These spots have stopped happening since I turned it back down:
Too much light....jpg

I think she's gonna grow some nice colas- the @NextLight 420h is keeping the node spacing pretty tight.

A silhouette shot:
5.jpg

Got a pic before she went back into the box- she's actually a little darker green than she appears under the white LED:
6.jpg

And, a bud :
7.jpg

It's official- 16.5 inches is as tall as she's gonna get...
8.jpg

A pic of the ceiling in the box- I'm pretty happy with how well it's working, even though I can only turn it halfway up...(220 watts- turned up all the way, it draws 437 watts)
10.jpg

And that's about all I've got right now...
I hope everyones week is off to a good start :thumb:

Thanks for looking, I really appreciate the support

The Magical Butter Machine is beeping at me, so the infusion is done, I'll try and post up a few pics of the finished product a bit later on...

And please- Stay as safe as possible out there-
She’s a shorty, but she’s going to have some nice spears! You should name her Brittany.

You could turn it all into kief. Here's what I have after a few sessions of dry ice sifting through a 220 micron bag. I'm sure there is still lots of plant material there, but I'm planning to get it lab tested to find out.
But, what's a good use for kief? I have sprinkled it on bowls and joints. But, that's the kief that accumulates in my grinder. I get more coughs that way...

But, what's a good use for kief?
It makes infusing oils for topicals and edibles so super easy. I squeeze it into pucks using a cheap pollen press, then decarb it:
After that all you have to do is stir it into the oil. It dissolves pretty quickly and then you are done.

As an example, if I stir 3 grams of decarbed kief into 2.5 oz of coconut oil, I can put it into size 00 capsules (.95ml) for about 19mg THC in each cap (don't forget the lecithin).

So, once you decarb and add to the oil that's it? No heating for hours to infuse? But, that is a small amount of oil.

Yes, that's it - no infusing necessary. If you are going to ingest it, then add lecithin. I tend to make small batches since it takes so little time to make. 2.5 oz of oil will give you about 80 capsules, but you can make as much oil as you want - just add more kief.

I have the same little press. I've found that cutting some baking paper, to put between the metal pucks and kief, helps stop the annoying sticking.

I like smoking the pressed kief in a bowl. Takes a while to burn and gives a wonderful little "pick me up".

Thanks for understanding my perspective.
:thumb:
Just tell her that she'll get used to it. That always works for me.
That sounds like it'd work about as well as telling her to "calm down"
That Blueberry Hill is absolutely stunning C!
Thank You, candy, compared to your plants, though, she's just "ok"

Hey, she actually grew another half-inch since Monday! Still a shorty, though... ;)

Yes, that's it - no infusing necessary.
I have the same little press.
I'll have to get one if I do the dry ice procedure. I do wonder, though- why would you ever need to press actual pollen? :hmmmm:
Wow carcass, that blueberry hill…. I found my thrill!
Thanks, HH!
She actually looked pretty pathetic this morning- droopy and extra stinky- I should of watered her yesterday after lil Nova went home, but I didn't get around to it...
She's all perked back up now, but it's crazy just how "almost dead" she looks when she doesn't get watered on time...

Funny- I wondered the same thing. It does come with a different endcap that can be used to squeeze garlic/ginger. But can't say as I've ever tried it.
I bought mine as I use a "buddies box" to dump my grinded weed onto. It collects a very nice amount of kief over a bit of time, and you don't notice anything different in smoke Quality. Seriously anyone who smokes a lot daily should get one.

Thanks, Rexer! I don't really smoke very much, but If I do end up with some kief, my kids would find something to do with it, I'm sure :)

And once again...Damn, that's a lotta kief!

Once you have the kief oil made, can use it for your gummies.

What ratio of kief to oil do you use?
That depends on how potent the kief is, how strong you want the oil to be and what you plan to use the oil for. I estimate about 55% THC potency of my kief (I plan to have it lab tested eventually). Recently I added 2.5g of kief to 2.7oz of coconut oil and I estimated that to be about 15.5mg/mL of THC. If put into a size 00 capsule, it would be 14.7mg THC per cap.

I also made some butter recently. I added 1g of kief to 4 oz of butter to give me about 4.6mg/mL of THC. If a serving size is 1 tsp (5mL) of butter, you'd get about 23mg THC.

Happy Monday, folks!- I hope everyone had a good weekend, and now it's time for a little
Update on the @Herbies Seeds Blueberry Hill...
She's 97 days old today, flipped to 12/12 - 34 days ago, first flowers showed up about 22 days ago.

She grew a half inch this week, so she's a whopping 17" tall now...as usual...:hmmmm:
The SaugaView®:
1.jpg

She's had a good week, no problems worth worrying about that I can see- some of her lower leaves are getting funky and starting to fall off now, but I think that's pretty much normal for a 97 day old plant...

2.jpg

I'm still feeding her 7g/mc/gal.+ 1.5g BPN's Easy Weed- she's finally showing just a little tip burn on the leaves, which, to me, means she's at the limit for nutes- so I don't think I'll need to go any higher on the mc or the EW.
The light is set at 220watts, probably all she's going to need- 58k lux at the canopy, according to my el-cheapo lux meter.

A couple of bud shots:
3.jpg

Her leaves are starting to get a little pale - not yellow, but lighter green than they were, but the buds are the right color, in fact, they seem to have a slight bluish tint to them, which the camera doesn't pick up very well....I don't think she's going to be real colorful, but there may be a little something there before she's done...

The silhouette shot:

7.jpg

She's a lot wider than the door opening, so I've got to be really careful moving her in and out...haven't broken anything off yet ...but gimme a few weeks, I probably will...

A different view, from the ground up-

And there ya go!

Thanks for looking, I really appreciate the support...

And please, continue to stay as safe as possible out there :peace:

Even the grandkids are too tall now for that low angle shot to be their POV! Blueberry Hill is looking like another beauty and you can really see it stacking in the silhouette shot. And I definitely see some blue in that bud shot, even if it's only by the power of suggestion. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Give her a hug around the low branches to get her through unscathed. I lose a lot of side trichomes moving the plants in and out of the Oval.

Yeah, might just be wishful thinking on my part...we'll find out for sure in the next few weeks...

Thanks for the suggestion, Shed! I'll try some kind of band/ rope around her when I bring her out- I've started watering her in the box to minimize the ins and outs...
I can only imagine what you'd do with a bigger tent!
I probably wouldn't need it taller, but I could use a little more width.. ;)
