Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Hey Mr. C!
Congratulations on the amazing harvest,
Hey, Rexer- Great to see you! Thank you for the compliment, it means a lot!
Be sure to drop off some pics here to help inspire others!
I didn't know about that thread (I have got to start looking around more!)
I'll have to post up a few pics of my ugly box!

baby boomer who still has a kids heart and full of imagination and I saw the Greenman in that pic......see
I'm a baby boomer and never even heard of Greenman!
What's a Greenman?
Inquiring minds want to know!
I didn't care for the Cap'n, (Kangaroo) but I liked Mr Greenjeans...
There it went. Again!
That dude had a ginormous bowl cut!!
I’m am mistaken. Guess I’m thinking of another guy.
You might be thinking of Cap'n Kangaroo...the main thing I remember about him is his goofy haircut.
Ok guys I told you I am weird and full of imagination with the heart of a kid...
Everyone fits in around here, even us weirdos!
Remember Aqua Lung..... Jethro Tull... well they knew about the greenman and they're older than me
As @Trala might say: "I was today years old when I heard about Greenman"
I’m going to fridge dry just a couple of ounces as a test.
Good plan, and make that your personal stash...
Now the rust gets chipped off! Tull!
Tull was popular when Mrs.C. and I first met, been many, many years since I listened to them...
So…..50/50 chance
Exactly!... 2 seeds left, one is dead already (turned black with no taproot) and the last one popped out a taproot,
and is in the solo cup now. So once again I'm waiting/hoping for a sprout...last chance....
Shed's rice ball trick helps the final stage of bringing the RH down.
I cheated a little and air-dried the last 3% out of the buds...I may not have the patience to do the low n slow thing.
Even with the cheating, those buds smell and taste 100% better than the totally air dried buds...
I’m thinking either Memoirs of a Grow Goddess or Memoirs of a Mega Moron.

I am currently writing my sure to be best seller grow journey and I will add this info. I’m still unsure of the title of my book, I’m thinking either Memoirs of a Grow Goddess or Memoirs of a Mega Tega Brop *taps nose* Moron. After Rainagate I’m leaning towards the second option.

Lolllllllllll

FTFY ;)

As @Trala might say: "I was today years old when I heard about Greenman"

Great Trala impression! :bravo:

First up- theFastBuds Blackberry auto is dry enough to jar up, so I weighed her on her way to the jars...
That Blackberry is "NOTM" worthy. Congrats on getting it to harvest. :high-five:
In the jars- those are 1 quart jars (spaghetti sauce jars)
Spaghetti sauce jars? We don't allow "store-bought" spaghetti sauce in our house.
So close, yet so far away...it "damped off" this morning..:rip:
That really sucks!

Ok I’m up for a tasting of that Sunday Sauce and I’ll bring you a “Mason”.

Thanks, Beez- I was thinking the same thing- maybe I'll give it a shot next month...

Mrs.C. uses the jarred stuff as a base, then she adds a bunch of stuff to it. She occasionally makes it from scratch, but not very often since the all kids moved out....when she does make it now, she makes a gallon or so, and freezes the leftover stuff.
That really sucks!
It does...oddly, the "dead" black one soaking in the water for the last 3 days popped open last night, and out comes a little white cotyledon/taproot thing, which was floating in the water this morning- The seed "shells" came off when it "popped" and they were laying at the bottom of the water...I carefully stuck it in the solo cup with the other one, I doubt it'll make it...but if it does, I won't have to worry about "helmet head" with that one...
Ok I’m up for a tasting of that Sunday Sauce and I’ll bring you a “Mason”.
Me too- I'll bring an empty sauce jar... ;)

This is why Amy always recommended no more than a 24 hour soak and then drop it in your media immedialy. I've had a few floaters that came completely out of the shell in water and none of them made it.

:laughtwo: Give me a jingle if you're ever in my area. I'll make a batch from the tomatoes out of my garden.

I do too. I usually make about 6 quarts at a time. My wife puts it in vacuum sealed freezer bags that are just enough for 2-3 people each. Easy peezy dinners with those - just gotta cook some fresh pasta and warm up the thawed-out sauce. :)

Upon closer inspection, I found 2 complete seed husks in there, from one seed- it evidently had
a double set of husks (or whatever you call them),one inside the other.
It was still soaking in there because I gave it up for dead 2 days ago, and I hadn't gotten around to throwing it away yet.
Not a great pic, but here's 2 seeds worth of husks, from just one seed:

I didn't get a pic of the little white taproot/cotyledon thing, but we may see it again, if it sprouts (I doubt it
though, but stranger things have happened...)
My wife puts it in vacuum sealed freezer bags
Mrs.C. freezes it in flat pans first, then does the vacuum packing thing- keeps the sauce from getting sucked into the vacuum packer and making a hell of a mess- the mess thing only happened once, but once is enough!
So not from Hunts then?
Hunts comes in cans, Classico comes in jars, and I do the grocery shopping, so...free jars!

I hope you put some garlic bread in the oven too..:p

I hope so too...I'm not sure it's even legal to eat spaghetti without garlic bread... :)

I considered also amending with some Geoflora Veg, but thought better of it, since there's already some nutrients in the FFOF.
so I think you can safely ignore the built-in nutes.
I know it's late but I agree with Shed. It would have been a perfect time to start the soil with some GF Veg. It would simply make for a better nutrient foundation for the rest of the grow. The microbes will keep things in check and not cook your seedling.
Love those blackberry buds carcass! There's something about deep purple in weed!
Agreed! That was one gorgeous plant. Congrats on the harvests! I want to grow something that colorful some day.

Absolutely not! That can is a crucial part of my germination process. :p
That's my problem- I don't have one if those cans!

Thanks, Baked...I also agreed with Shed, so I dumped the soil into a 5 gallon bucket, mixed in 40g of GF Veg, and put it back in the 3 gallon pot to cook a little more before I stick a plant in there.
I'm not counting any chickens quite yet, but it also looks like I might have a plant to put in there...I should know for sure in the morning...

Thanks for the kind words:thanks: I'd definitely like to grow another one, but maybe indoors next time...

Happy Sunday, 420!

Well, I'm going to call this my next indoor plant, since it's 3 days old, and still alive...Good thing too- it was the last Blueberry Hill seed, and I was dreading having to tell Herbies that I fu#ked all three of their seeds up...:thedoubletake:

Saturday night:
BBH-10-23-21.jpg

And this morning- She got a little leggy overnight- my fault for having the (single) light 2" too far away- she's actually only 1.75 inches tall , but I didn't like where she was headed, so now she's under 2 led bulbs, 4" away, instead of 1 bulb 6" away...if she still keeps stretching, I can always just turn the big light on...but I think the 2 led's should do the trick until transplant time.

Leggy- 10-24-21.jpg

I usually always use 2 bulbs, and now I remember why...I hate it when they get all tall and spindly at this age- but I can just bury the leggy part at transplant...

And, to make this post a little more interesting...Here's a Blueberry auto bud..pretty sure Tuesday is chop day for this one...
BBa 10-24-21.jpg

And that's all for today, I'll be back in here tomorrow with my usual Monday update.

It might be a wet Monday, because it's actually supposed to rain tomorrow  ...Quite a bit, too- hopefully not enough to cause mudslides and flashfloods in the areas that burned in the recent (Alisal) fire...like those people haven't gone through enough shit already this year...sheesh!

Thanks for looking!
Have a great Sunday!

Congrats on the Fats Domino inspired seedling!

And, to make this post a little more interesting breathtaking...
FTFY.

The color of that plant is astonishing! :thumb:

Thanks, GDB !

We'll see if I "find my thrill" on Blueberry Hill in 3 months or so... :thumb:
