Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

That is the most extraordinary plant I’ve ever seen! The BlackBerry Auto I mean. Those colours are amazing.

And I’m not surprised you have seed companies wanting your extraordinary talent when it comes to growing. If you want a manager I‘m your gal ;)

Happy Monday, folks! Time for a little Update...
All three of these girls are getting close to harvest, they started
showing their age a bit in the last week...

First up is the 104 day old Gorilla Glue- She's been flowering for 51 days now, and she's looking a little rough compared to last week, but the buds are doing fine. I think she may need more Potassium than I've been giving her, the leaves with yellowing margins and brown serrations is what I see as a K deficiency, although I may be wrong about that. I gave her a little extra K (Easy Weed) with the last feeding, and the yellowing/browning doesn't seem to be getting any worse- not any better, but not worse either...

The SaugaView®:
1gg.jpg

I'm not too worried about the yellowing leaves- she's been flowering for close to 8 weeks, so she doesn't have long to go, and trying to fix it might do more harm than good at this point, so it is what it is...
2gg (2).JPG

Her buds aren't real big, but there's quite a few of them....
3gg.JPG

And possibly her last silhouette shot- the trichs are at about 3% amber, when she gets to15- 20% it's chop time!
4gg.jpg

Next is the 21" tall WSE Blueberry auto- 60 days old, apx. 34 days flowering...she also did a little more yellowing this week.I checked the WSE site to see how long they say she's gonna take..they say 10-12 weeks, sprout to harvest....but it doesn't look to me like she's got that long left...we'll just have to wait and see...
5bb.jpg

Very few new pistils, and lots of amber on the sugar leaves, so she's getting there...
6bb.jpg

Finally, the 63 day old FastBuds Blackberry auto- 26" tall, and flowering for 33 days:
8bkb.jpg

FastBuds says 9 weeks sprout to harvest, and they're pretty close-today is the end of her 9th week
and she's just about there...maybe another 4 days or so...
9bkb.jpg

She's showing quite a bit of amber, but she's still drinking plenty, so I may wait to harvest till her drinking slows down...I'm not sure, I need to think on it a little... :hmmmm:
10bkb.jpg

One more thing- @Herbies Seeds got in touch with me on Thursday, they want me to grow a plant for them and then do an online review- so my next grow won't start until the seeds get here...(they're on the way)
I told them I grow in a little box, and can only do one plant at a time in there, and, surprisingly, they were fine with that. :hmmmm:
Thank You, @Teddy Edwards ! :high-five:

So that's about all that's going on around here...
Thanks for looking, I appreciate your support:love:

I hope everyone has a great week!
Stay safe out there, and please, get a booster shot as soon as you're due :peace:
Love the silhouette views Carcass! Good growin! Hey nice to see Herbies sees you!

I think I figured out why I like your blackberry so much.
A tad phallic isn't she?

Now I'd like to talk about fear. Not the normal fear of monsters or dangerous situations. No, I'm talking about the fear that took hold of my heart when I realized that the last time you got a colonoscopy ,I had just had one as well. Guess who else is due for one?
Son of a.....

Herbie's picked the right fella.

You're growing a lot of beauties there, Carcass. It's no surprise to me that Herbie's wants to sponsor you.

That Blackberry has me banging my head on the wall. What a beauty!
Thanks, Nev! It's the first plant I've grown that actually got a "that's a pretty one" from Mrs.C....
Her usual comment is "boy, they stink" :)
That is the most extraordinary plant I’ve ever seen! The BlackBerry Auto I mean
Thanks, Trala! Me too- I'm really glad I got to grow that one...

Love the silhouette views Carcass! Good growin! Hey nice to see Herbies sees you!
Thank you,Stone! My first silhouette shot was an accident, but people seemed to like them, so I keep doing em...
A tad phallic isn't she?
She is! ...With all the purple, they could of called her Eggplant instead of Blackberry.. :)
. Guess who else is due for one?
Sorry to hear that, VG! Tip: If you do the Miralax prep, try to stay within 4 feet of a toilet at all times....that stuff is brutal!
Oh chute!
Poopchute that is... ;)
It's no surprise to me that Herbie's wants to sponsor you.
Thank you for the kind words, HashGirl ! Hopefully, I can do a good job for them...the seeds are photos,
so it should be a fairly straightforward grow...

Beautiful colors on all your plants. :welldone:

It's paying off for them already. I didn't know Herbies was a sponser - actually, I had never even heard of them before this post, and now I've visited their website and eyeing some potential additions to my inventory.
Remember the mantra, outside amber does not necessarily equal inside amber. Ask BL!
What Shed said!

Hey @Carcass I see everything is well in your world, your girls are showing off, they are Beautiful . It's no wonder why Herbie's choose you to highlight some of their stock, my personal hope is that they send you a tall growing strain so you can show off your skills on how to tame a monster in that tardis like box you like growing in.

Just a short update on my current grow, I had thought that I was finally turning into a journeyman grower based on how fast and large my girls were getting. My SSH auto had finally decided to start showing it's bud sites and I decided to decrease the daylight to 13/11 from 18/6 just to see if my photos would get the hint and make the transition. (this is where the story gets good) Like I said I thought that I had graduated to journeyman...you know... the grower who after a few years of growing his own stock and now has a grip on how to tell what's what with their plants, giving them what they need when they need it, not babysitting them anymore or checking on them every other hour. Heck, I even planned on getting one of those cheap baby monitors so that I could check in on them from time to time during off hours. Well I'm still a novice, I went to the basement before lights on to feed them since I haven't fed them in the two days since the light flip and found out the lights were on. SMH, I went to check the settings on my timer thinking that I had them waking up earlier in the morning than what I thought. Nope that wasn't the case. I had switched the manual override to on. I don't even remember how long they've been on a 24/0 schedule. If it hadn't been for my ssh flipping to flower I wonder how long it would have been before I realize that my girls were getting full sun. It's a good thing that I quadlined all my girls cause I don't want any trees in that room. Well I just wanted to give you guys something to laugh at...a noob mistake when you start to add automation to your grows, always check and double check your equipment to make sure they're doing what you expect them to do... Later
Stay frosty..... :ganjamon:

Hiya carcass! I’m all catched up here and just in time too. Happy harvesting and omg I can’t believe how dark that blueberry is!! Darkness! Once again, you and your box have made beautiful music together. Congrats on the new sponsorship! Exciting things happening here, plus no more scope for a while! :thumb:

Thanks for the kind words, raziel819!
I had switched the manual override to on.
I've stopped using the override switch any more, because I've forgotten to switch it back to the timer waaaayyy too many times....
Happy harvesting and omg I can’t believe how dark that blueberry is!!
Thanks, HH- a couple more days, and it's time for me to stop talking about harvest, and actually get it done...
I didn't really plan on all 3 getting "ripe" at the same time, but it's looking like that's what's happening...
If you think that Blueberry is dark....you should see the Blackberry! ;)(I know- that's what you meant....)

While I'm here- when I first started these last 3 plants, I wanted to be sure and get a comparison pic before they got chopped-

So, I did that today while I had the GG out for watering....Nothing scientific about it, it's more of a general comparison of 3 different ways to do it...(Blackberry auto/ Blueberry auto/ Gorilla Glue photoperiod)
Comparison 10-7-21 BkB,BB,GG.jpg

And that's about it for now!

Gosh darn that blackberry bud looks amazing. Heck they all do but man the colors of that bud are just ridiculous! Sweet dude.

Very sweet.

NTH

Great side by side photo. I didn't realize how short the GG was until seeing it next to the two autos, but its shape is pretty perfect in my opinion. :thumb:
I didn't really plan on all 3 getting "ripe" at the same time, but it's looking like that's what's happening...
I think I might be in the same boat as you. My two outdoor plants are looking like they might be really at the same time.

:thanks: for that pic...bookmarked!
It might help a person on the fence about whether to train or not...
That last pic would be a good experiment to do with clones to see the difference in final weight.
Last year I grew 2 clones-1 topped and the other not, and (surprisingly) the topped one only produced 6 or 8 grams more than the untopped one-it had more buds, but they were considerably smaller than the buds on the untopped one...
Can I stick around for awhile?
Welcome to my journal, NTH! Hope to see more of you!
the colors of that bud are just ridiculous!
Yeah, she's the purplest one I've grown so far- she's going to make some pretty nugs!
. I didn't realize how short the GG was until seeing it next to the two autos,
Thanks, Beez!- Yeah,I've got to work on getting them a little taller in the box...for some reason, the last 3 plants have stopped growing at 17" tall, I'd like to get them to 24"if possible...it's funny- when I started growing in that box, I thought the plants getting too tall would be a big problem, but that hasn't happened yet...
My two outdoor plants are looking like they might be really at the same time.
I spent about 20 minutes taking a closer look at the autos yesterday, discovered 2 things : 1- there's not as much amber on them as I thought, and 2- the aphids have finally discovered the Blackberry...
I'm going to let both of them go awhile longer, like I did with the Chocodope a few months ago..
When they start drinking less than a gallon every other day, then I'll harvest...
Does that sound about right, Beez?

The indoor Gorilla Glue is at apx. 15-20% amber, so she's probably getting chopped tomorrow morning, unless I decide to put her in the dark for 36 hours first...then she'll get chopped on Sunday.
Some of the sugar leaves are almost 100% amber, but it's the calyx' that I use to judge readiness...

Gorilla Glue amber, flowering 8 weeks today:

And that's about it for now!
Oh my dayzzzzzzzz

Proof is definitely in the pudding pot. And for my eye the topped and trained looks so much prettier aesthetically.

That first Coca-Cola does look remarkably larger. Will you do a weight comparison too?

Happy Saturday(?) Trala!
Yes, I will also be doing a weight comparison- although with three different strains it won't really prove anything...I think the Blueberry (the middle one) is going to do the best- not very many colas (10) but they're pretty big...The GG has a lot more buds (apx. 35), but they're all fairly small..

I've been watching your thread- looks like you're getting "the cure" figured out pretty well!

I was wondering on how long did you let that GG go in veg and if a longer veg time (even with quadlinging) would result in a taller plant?

I let that one go either 50 or 51 days before the flip, but I think I'll go longer on the next one.
The only thing that the last 3 17" plants have in common is when they were flipped to 12/12- all 3 around day 50, so I'll let the next one go 60-65 days and see what happens.
They actually do double in size after the flip- but when they start at 8" tall, doubling in size still isn't very big... ;)
