Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Runner up for the contest lol (Grandma’s favorite)
Yipes! still creepy- the pot helps a little, but...
I'd (thankfully) forgotten about grandma's creepy clown collection... ;)

Right back at ya, VG! I hope your 4/20 is going great!

And while I'm at it, I might as well do my Monday 4/20/2020 update...

I've only got the one plant (Alaskan Purple auto) in the box now- it began life as a mutant, but it's finally getting back to normal (as I hope our lives will soon...:cheesygrinsmiley:).

Had a little deficiency problem a week ago, but got it under control with a couple 5ml doses of cal-mag-
some of the leaves from a week ago look like crap, but the new growth is coming in ok
I also cut her MegaCrop dose back to 5g/gal for awhile- she started getting more tip burn than I like to see,
so I dialed it back for a week or 2.
The Saugaview®:

She's 76 days old today- that mutant thing slowed her down for awhile, but she's trying to catch up
1587407407525.jpeg

Had a pile of suction cups laying around,so I put them to use, spreading this plant out a little...
It surprised me just how well they work....
1587407593053.jpeg

And a silhouette shot: (haven't done one of these in awhile)
1587407779627.jpeg

Her buds are getting a little fatter every day-I hope that continues for awhile...
1587407985278.jpeg

That's about all for her today - I think she's going to end up ok,but she had me wondering for awhile...

And there's the clone from the houseplant- doing pretty well considering it's been overcast here for all but 1 day of the last week- 14" tall now, she's going to be a bushy one- lots of branches.
61 days since I started her, getting 4g/gal Mega Crop (and loving it)
1587408664372.jpeg

And one more thing- dropped an OG Kush seed ( a gift from my son, @13goody13 ) a few days ago
Hasn't sprouted yet.....and with my germinating history, it may not... ;)
If it sprouts, It'll probably be part of my outdoor grow.
1587409475499.jpeg

And that's about all for this update !

I hope everyone is safe and well....remember, this stuff can't last forever.

Thanks for looking-I appreciate your support, and hope you all have a stellar 4/20! :thumb:
Stunning. And great use of those suction cups!! Smart.

Looks like there could be some weight to those colas at harvest.
Thanks,Shed! good to see you!
I hope so-she's taken her sweet time getting there, but she's finally got the flowering thing dialed in...

carcass is the king of the silhouette shots!!
Thanks ,BL ! That cardboard box with the door open just makes for a great backlight!

Thanks,HH -out of all the crap I should throw away, but don't, they're one of the few things I've actually ever found a use for... ;)
Did that OG kush seed pop yet?
Not yet- it's only been in the cup for 5 days now- one of my last plants
took 13 days to sprout (I think it was the "houseplant") so It's got another week before
I give up on it.
Fingers crossed!

Hope I didn’t give you the one dud out of 20 seeds

I think it might just be a slow sprouter- It only had a tiny bit of taproot
showing when I stuck it in the cup, after soaking for 18 hours in distilled water.
I've just got to resist the temptation to dig around in there to see what it's doing- killed one of my last ones doing that... :cheesygrinsmiley:

Went out to take a look at the clone- 70f and sunny today, so it's loving it out there.
Something caught my eye, so I got out the loupe to have a closer look....

Remember, this plant just got done re-vegging about two weeks ago, so this is odd:
1587581981823.jpeg

It's been outside for a couple of weeks, getting about 14 hours of light a day. ( 10 hours of it is intense light, when it's not overcast)
I schlep it into the patio room at night, and that room is nothing but windows, so it's not like I put it into the dark or something, so it shouldn't be doing this. but it is...

If the flowers were down lower on the plant in random places, I'd say they were just pre-flowers- but all the tops are putting out pistils, so it's really flowering.

So I guess this is unexpected flower day 1 for this one.
1587582847612.jpeg

Interesting plant for sure- it's got a mind of it's own...

It's mom's mom was an auto,so maybe that's influencing things?
But it shouldn't have re-vegged if that's the case....

I'm as confused as it is ;) but whatever it ends up doing, I'll take it!

So is it like a cut and come again salad sort a deal? :hmmmm:

What would happen if you tried to take a clone now and put it under 24/0?

It looks lovelly and very happy. I'm going to be doing my first reveg in a couple months as I have some plants I really like which are in early flower. I hope I have the success that you did. Have you done any re-vegging before?

Hope youre well Carcass
:passitleft:

Lmao, what little weirdos you got growing over there!
How true! The indoor one didn't want to flower, and the outdoor one just won't stop...

Hi ,Prof-
It's mom was flowering when I cut the clone (she wasn't supposed to be flowering either)...as soon as it actually took root, it started re vegging- so I figured I'd move it mostly outside, and have a fairly large plant before it started flowering (in 3 months or so)
The "funny" re-veg leaves finally started looking normal about two weeks ago,so I figured it was in it for the long haul, then today ,it's flowering again....so it won't be as long of a haul as I thought....
Plenty of branches on her, so I'm going with your idea- I'll cut another clone and see what happens.
Can't do 24/0 since I've got a flowering one in the box.....although, that one's an auto,so I guess I could...
I'll just try it at 19/5 (or 18/6-have to check the timer to be sure)- that worked for the last one
Have you done any re-vegging before?
None-in fact this was only my second clone ever-first one was a male, cloned it because at 6' tall the daddy plant was just getting too big.
I don't exactly do the clone thing correctly-I just stick them in a cup of wet soil, and wait- but I'm 2 for 2 with that method, so that's what I'll do with this one too

Fun fun fun! What do you think will happen as the season moves forward and the duration of light increases? do you think that it will revert back to a veg pant at any point? I'm just wondering how this could work out. it does sound like the auto genetics have kicked in. Weird.

That's more than I do. I'm leaning towards just sticking them in a cup of water. I took some cuttings from my Tropicanna Banana mother and put them in a jar of water. It's been a few weeks but they're rooting. I'm not even putting them under any lighting. They just sit on the shelf out of the way of the kids. No direct sunlight or any such luxuries lol. They look a bit beat up but they're gonna make it. They're in the window for the pic to make use of the light but normally its up on the shelf away from destructive hands....

It's going to be interesting to see what she does- ideally,I'll get a harvest from her in 2 months, then she re-vegs ,and I harvest her again in September or October :cheesygrinsmiley: ...but I don't really think that's how it'll go...

I figure if they want to live, they'll do the right thing...Your method is even easier than mine- I might try that
with this one-Is that just plain water,or is there a bit of nutes in it?

I figured that it must be possible as I do it with a lot of other plants like mint, rosemary. blackberries. tomatoes ect. I gave it a google and it came up with a thread from this site.

I decided to make it even easier and skip all the fiddly bits with cling film and just put them in the glass. As I have a few mother plants to play around with I'm just going to keep doing this as it costs nothing other than a bit of shelf space and a glass of water. I'm going to try different strains in different locations such as in direct light and in a shaded position. Some I will just leave without changing the glass and others I will change weekly or when dirt becomes visible.
I tried it a few months ago with my Fat Purple but the cutting wasn't very healthy. It still produced a root though but then I knocked it off when I was inspecting it lol. I personally think that it is a fun but not reliable way of cloning plants. You dont have the control that you have when doing it the proper way, if there is a such a thing.

I'll just stick it in a glass of water in the grow box (mainly because it's nice n warm in there, and that's where the last one started) or maybe just on top of the box-it's toasty warm up there too...
Then the trick will be to not knock it over when I'm messing with my plant....

I was outside soaking up a little sun today, and I noticed this guy buzzing around the "houseplant" skeleton.
They're like little hummingbirds- they hover around the plant looking for bugs to eat, and they don't quit hovering/eating till they've gone over the entire plant, top to bottom-I was out there for about 15 minutes, and he was still at it when I came back in.
Aphids are their favorite meal, so if you see one of these buzzing around your plant, let him do his work!

Saugaview for the win. Best views in town!
Yes they are!
Good afternoon Mr Sauga!

Speaking of Saugaviews®,here's one of the flowering clone -85f out there today, and she's loving it!
she's growing like she's been topped, but I haven't touched her....well, I have touched her ,but not to top her...
1587843044583.jpeg

And some pistils...
1587843254105.jpeg

After speaking to @ProfessorFlora the other day, I did take a little cutting from her and just stuck it in some water to see what happens...this method works for the Professor, so I'm going to see if it'll work for me...
In my special "can't knock it over" clone starter...
1587844043256.jpeg

I'll just have to get it out of there at the first sign of roots-that's a pretty small opening on that "vase"

And it's flowering too, even though it still has the funny re-veg leaves on it...from it's first re-veg
1587844200068.jpeg

And finally, a pic of the double bud on the Alaskan Purple auto, just for the hell of it...
1587844354146.jpeg

That's all I've got today...I'll do a full update on Monday,as usual...
Thanks for looking!

I'd say that it's still working for me as Ive yet to get one of the cuttings into any medium....

The next time I try it I will use a cup/jar which blocks out the light a bit better. I think that the intense sunlight is slowing the development of the roots. It's just an idea but I personally believe that if I put one of these cuttings into a pot of coco now then they would root in no time. I might try it with one to see what happens
