Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

That's a great idea- I could get some seeds going now, while there's not a lot of flowers, then there's no risk
of pollinating the real flowers whenever they decide to show up...10 or 12 seeds is better than no seeds.
I'll give her a few more days to grow a few more sex pistils, :cheesygrinsmiley: then that's what I'll do.
Thank you, Shed, and Van Stank!

I had to google that- if it's not a Goldfish or a Neon,it's just a "pretty fish"to me.... :)
Sex Pistils (!)

Speaking of pistils...I want to thank @shottafire for suggesting some extended darkness to get my
mutant Alaskan Purple auto to decide if it wants to flower or not.

Two days with 16 hour nights seems to be doing the trick-waaaay more pistils than 2 days ago...

Some of the pistils are half an inch long...

I'm going to continue with the 16 hour nights for another week or so- I even set up a little fan in the broom closet so she can breathe better in there during her long nights...
And thanks again,shotta!:thumb:

That's about it for now...I may be back with more later, since I've got all the time in the world....
Thanks for looking!

hey carcass that’s great news. I’m glad I could help

Back already...I decided to take @InTheShed 's suggestion,and pollinate
all the pre-flowers on my little clone. (Thank you,Shed!)
This way, even if it is going to re-veg, I can get a few seeds now (like 14) and use some of them outdoors a little later on. (sometime after the sun comes back out, if that ever happens..)

Here's my pollination kit-the pollen is from a male NLxBB that I grew out almost a year ago.

Here's the "loaded" q-tip
1585166003111.jpeg

Since the clone is so little, and I want to pollinate all the flowers, I just held the q-tip above the plant and tapped on it,and let the pollen fall where it may...
I did that 3 times to make sure the whole little plant was covered.

Looks like it oughta work (as long as the pollen's viable)

Hard to see,but there's a fine yellow dust all over things.

I sat it outside for a few hours, then I'll mist the whole thing to deactivate the leftover pollen, and back into the box it goes, to hopefully start cookin' me some seeds!

That's all for now..thanks for looking (again) !

edit: Guess I should include a pic of the whole plant, so you know what I'm talking about...
she's about 5 inches tall.

Thanks for the link,Shed!
I'll probably just leave it outside all day, then
mist it down this evening...like I said before- I've got all the time in the world... ;)
It's almost sunny out there today....almost....

my snakehead would eat 100 minnows in 4 days.
That reminded me of what my brother in law used to do for a living- He worked for a mouse/rat delivery service for snake owners....Had a catchy name, "I smell a Rat!" or something like that.... :)

I gotta tell you Carcass, that clone is 100% vegging.
You are 100% right,Chef!
I pollinated her 14 or so flowers yesterday, and it's looking like that's all there's going to be for awhile...

The leaf growth is getting real weird, the sure sign of a re-veg.

Thanks, @ChefDGreen - still not sure why mom is flowering, but her offspring is not an auto!
(but you knew that already :) )

Check with the seedmakers about how long to wait before spraying. I think it's more than a few hours though.
Not true. After a few hours the plant has received the pollen if its viable. I pollinated in my tent very carefully with fans off for three hours misted the hole space and turned everything back on. I ended harvesting my plants 31 days after pollination all buds pollinated produced viable seed with no stray seeds on any other buds.

your mother plant was not receiving adequate light to continue vegetative growth.
I think so-She's been inside for the last ten days (no sun) and I'm keeping the intense light at 12 hours-I don't need her to re-veg now...

I had all day,so I just left her outside till evening, then misted her and brought her back in-the pollination appears to be successful-all the pistils are shriveled up today- so that's a good thing....
Well called Chef. Where’s that hats off emoji???
Yep- he called it quite awhile back- I was just hoping she was an auto, so I didn't want to listen- even though I had a sneaking suspicion that he was right all along... ;)

No, carcass, I mean she was not receiving adequate light when flower was initiated weeks ago. The time she was living as a house plant? Right? At some point during that time she decided her lighting wasn’t enough and that it was time to die.

Yeah, when she started flowering, she was only getting about 8 hours of "real" light per day-
She's getting 12 now...so do you think I could up the light to 16 hours without any ill effects,or just keep it at 12 like it is now?

That’s up to you. Personally I would stay at 12 but I’m sure others will have different opinions. Remember opinions are like -/$&@“%#** everyone has one.
