Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Your oil must be out of this world strong!
I made my first batch too weak,so I want to avoid doing that again...
It's pretty strong, but it's nice just eating one gummy bear to "get there"... :)
Don't forget the gummie lacquer!
It's built in to those overpriced silicone molds!
I gotta say, I sure do like that coconut oil- non-greasy gummies, and they work fast...I think the effects might even last a little longer...maybe it's because they kick in a little sooner...

What is the recipe you’re using? I’ve been wanting to make some gummies, but I don’t want them to be runny, so I’ve been holding off. The coconut oil makes the difference huh? Interesting, very interesting. :nomo:

What is the recipe you’re using?
Good morning,HH!
I use @Preston9mm 's recipe,with a couple of differences.
Here's what I use:

1 - 3oz pkg regular (with sugar) Strawberry Jello
1- .6 oz pkg Sugar free Jello
2- pkg Knox Gelatine
1/8 cup Light corn syrup
3/8 cup water
1/2 cup infused coconut oil (or evoo or grapeseed oil)

Put all dry ingredients in a pan

Add the water/corn syrup & stir very well

Heat the mixture over med. heat (and keep stirring) till it just starts to bubble around the edges
mixture should be smooth, not grainy -if it's grainy, stir till it isn't...

Add the oil to the hot jello mix,and stir the oil in. (lots more stirring) Keep heating till it just starts to bubble around the edges.

*Now this next step is the important one to thoroughly blend in the oil, since it doesn't really want to mix with the water....
Remove from heat, and stir while letting it cool a bit-as it cools,it'll thicken a little-this helps it hold the oil in suspension so it doesn't just float to the top.

Now you need to move fairly fast,so it doesn't set up in the pan.

Have one of those silicone spatula thingys handy to scrape it out of the pan, then
pour the mix into your squirt bottle, (use a funnel-this shit's messy at this point) and fill your gummy molds, then stick them in the fridge for an hour or two.

There'll be a little bit of the mix that won't come out of the squirt bottle- probably about 2 gummies worth.
If you're in the mood to get high ,you can get it out of the bottle with a long handled spoon and eat it right now, or save it for later-it won't be pretty, but it will be effective- ;)

I keep mine in the fridge, but if you use evoo or grapeseed oil the freezer would be better- keeps them from getting oily- coconut oil gummies don't get oily (under 76F) so the fridge works for them.

I've got to credit @BobbyZ with the freezer idea-the extra oil I use made my first batches pretty oily,
but I was also using Grapeseed oil early on....

The reason I refrigerate them is that ,if they're around for long, they can start to mold after a few weeks at room temp.
Mine aren't around for very long though...:lot-o-toke:

One more thing- don't mix "Jolly Rancher" brand gelatine dessert with regular jello-I did, and had a whole batch that didn't set up- so I had 3 molds full of some the messiest goo I've ever had to deal with - too messy to even use,so I had to trash that batch.

Feel free to ask anything else about the process...I'm here all week/month/year...:cheesygrinsmiley:

Cool, thank you carcass! I saw Preston is tweaking with his recipe lately too, to get them to set up better. I’ve seen Dutchman make some good looking ones too, but I think he might use a different carrier?
If it’s even possible, I need to find a way I can just store them at room temp. I’m so worried if I left them in the fridge that my kids might stumble across them. Can’t even risk it now.

I need to find a way I can just store them at room temp

Hey,HH -I may have a solution for you- spread them out on a cookie sheet for about 24hrs to let them
dry out a little-this will cause a dry "skin" to form on them-this way,the mold won't have a "wet" surface to start growing on.
They will get a little chewyer more chewy this way,but they still do their job just fine...
Mrs.C. regularly leaves them out overnight, and I've heard no complaints....if she had one, believe me,I'd of heard it by now.. :)
My Daughter keeps them in a baggie in the back of the freezer to keep the granddaughter out of them.
You should keep them in a sealed container if you don't refrigerate them,so they don't dry out toooo much.

If you like them ,(and you probably will) long term storage will be a non-issue-eat em up yum!!

The ones of mine that molded were forgotten in a jar in the closet for about a month- they aren't around long enough to get moldy now....

So here's the Fruits of my labor-2 cups of very strong oil
Still warm:

So we're set for the next month or 2...this is the strongest stuff I've made yet...
look! there I am on the toaster!

Another thing- You know how I'm always saying to use Mosquito dunks to get rid of soil gnats?
Well, when I started the clone I've got going- I didn't even think about it,but I was using straight ,untreated rain water on it, along with freshly purchased Black Magic soil, which comes pre-charged with soil gnat larva...
So,of course,I've got soil gnats in the clone soil...took me a minute to figure where they were coming from, but since I finally did,I've watered the clone with the dunk treated water, so they should be gone in a few days.
Sometimes I'm amazed at how stupid I can be-never occurred to me (till now) that even a tiny bit of soil is enough to raise a large herd/flock of gnats....

Stay safe,my friends...We're all in this together, and hopefully, we all reach the other side
intact, and wiser from the experience...

Hi,VG Good to see you! :hugs:

I've been following your closet build....I was gonna suggest cardboard for the door, but then I realized you were going for something a little classier!
Although cardboard would work just fine.....but I use cardboard for everything:cheesygrinsmiley:

Beautiful plants and stunning photos Casrcass! That pink kush is a looker for sure. I haven’t made a batch of oil in awhile.. edibles kick my Hawaiian ass and kids are still young... Pics or it didn't happen ?... :cheesygrinsmiley:
Gah. I should have taken a pic. My pants are in the dumpster already.
My butt itself is still really white, it ran through my pants. Can't show that though.

I need to hop in the shower. I have paint in my hair and errywhere...

Hey Carcass,

I see that clone of yours reverted to veg! Not an auto flowering plant or clone after all!

also your gummy recipe; im not sure if you’re putting liquid sunflower lecithin into your oil when you make it. But adding some to your gummies will suspend the oil in solution. Then you don’t have to worry about it pooling in the molds.

@Heavenly Hybrid if you want to store them at room temp you’ve got a few options. Like carcass said you can air them to let them dry a bit, that will help but you could still get mold. One option you have is to pack them in sugar after you’ve given them time to dry. (Or else the extra moisture will turn the sugar into sticky goo) another option for you, they sell mold-inhibitor for candy making on amazon. Couple drops of that into your gummy mix and you can store em anywhere you please!

My pants are in the dumpster already.
Title of your sex tape ... ;)
I see that clone of yours reverted to veg!

It paused for a little while, but now that the roots are growing (like crazy),it's putting out fresh
pistils, still under 19/5- this is it a few minutes ago

I'm using granulated Soy lecithin, and I add it to the oil in the MBM.

So you're saying I can add a little to the gummy mix to help keep things blended?
That's a good idea,as is the mold inhibitor- I didn't know there was such a thing...
Thanks,Chef!

Hey carcass. Doing a drive by and I see you like the gummies. I wanted to make a batch and was wondering what material you use to make the infusion. Trim and larf or straight nugs?
plants are looking nice by the way! Need to get a cheapie light gonna check out the one you have!
Cheers buddy
Stay safe and healthy. One love!
