Cape Mountainside Bay Garden: Transkei Sativa Soil Grow

thinking of you, been watching winds on your side of the globe w the Windy app, hope it calms down some for you.
Thanks Yogi. The wind on the mountainside can be brutal. We had heavy rains last night but my plant patrol this morning saw a whole lot of really happy plants. I mulched my beds with straw and planted veggie seedlings out yesterday.
I tend to do my pest management every 3 days to break the life cycle of whatever is living on them. I'd say 2x a day isn't necessary, and that much oil on a plant can clog the pores.
Thanks Shed. I will up my game and do the same :)

Hi Shed, I am not quite sure how best to treat the plants against infestation. Should I spray or drench? I would prefer to drench given that I have messed up my plant growth with spray damage. So, if I drench, how often would you recommend that I do this?

I'm not sure of the difference! Is a spray a light misting and a drench spraying to runoff? Or is a drench pouring it into the soil. I don't do that for pests.

I spray to make sure I'm hitting all the areas that the bugs are hiding. When I'm done the leaves drip with the excess.
I did it all wrong. I read the instructions but not carefully enough it seems. I did a soil drench on the first application, but I think that is for larvae and things that breed in the soil. So I will spray every few days as you suggest. Thank you.

I got brave enough to take the first step back into training my plants. This time I have tied them down in such a way that they can move in the wind without snapping, I hope.

nice  love what one moment of effort can produce months later. Inspiring.

This morning I pruned the plants again. I have made a decision and I'm sad about it, two plants are coming out. I am changing things up and getting some clones because I prefer a bit of variety after all.

Polly has exhibited strange growth from seed and he / she is spindly and under-developed so that plant is coming out. The plant in the pot is from bag seed given to me by a friend who wanted me to grow a purple plant, and I am taking that out too.

So I will grow these two for a bit and see if they are male / female. That's the Transkei origin plants. LR's gifted DWD was topped yesterday, and LC-18 x Transkei nearly died in the wind two nights ago, but is on the mend. I have a Banana Blaze auto seedling which popped 10 days ago too, and then the clones (green crack and wedding cake) will take me to my limit.

The show must go on! Lol sorry about that Carmen!! There’s lots where those came from though!! :cheer:
Hahaha, BLS I went up to remove the plant from the pot and I took one look and could not! I have moved the pot to a different location in the garden.:passitleft:

I gave the TK origin plants a tidy up. The white stuff on the leaves is residue from the foliar treatment for pests.

The top one is Holly, who was fimmed by the red locust initially.
This second one is Molly, still coming out of the abnormal growth from the garlic spray suffocation.

The next plant is DWD, growing strong in a tent until she fattens off nicely.

I have the LC-18 x TK in a small pot, hardening off and recovering from a wind blasting a few nights ago. I took my Banana Blaze auto out her pot and put her in hydro because the stem was too damaged from the wind. I hope it doesn't rot off now. It was a last ditch attempt to get her to stand up on her own again.

I am playing food by ear. I have given SST, LABs and Seagrow. I will feed a bit more with Seagrow I think. I think the new growth is looking good and any leaf damage is old now.

Leaf Miners, what to do? Two of my plants are badly infected with leaf miners. Apart from removing infected leaves, what can I do? I have been spraying every two days with BT and BB (beauverai bassiana) but they still infected my leaves.

I removed all affected leaves and resprayed with the BT & BB solution. I hope that the remaining leaves don't get stung or munched, and that the plants still have enough left on them to flourish. Someone suggested Xterminator, available at Jamie's.

I wish I knew how to help this. I've had to deal with this issue. I'm sending positive vibes to ya Carmen ;) I'm sure the effort will be worth it in the end.
Thanks Cadboy. Did you manage to get it under control?
