Congrats on the free seeds! @Weed Seeds Express is an amazing seed seller and their genetics seem to be top notch. Loads of folks here are growing their beans.

And an intentional quadline is even better than an unintentional one! :cheesygrinsmiley:
I'm also rethinking the nutrients part as I don't like using chemicals. Perhaps this time will use Stonington blend and then some bloom nutes at the end if needed. I'll only be vegging for 6 weeks.

This morning I'm doing a bit of work on my inside choc. There are lots of brown leaves from when I was getting it used to the tent light. But, inside those crispy brown leaves are nice sticky buds. I don't want to trim to close the bud, but because they are so close to the bud will that create a problem after harvest? Should I try to remove as many as possible before that? Will those brown leaves increase the change of rot? And these pictures do look like plant abuse.

Amber on sugar leaves doesn't count, so I'd let it go as long as possible to get the most cloudy on the buds. 40's should be okay if the daytime highs are good.
Daytime temps will be high high low 60s. Buds are pretty small, but will trichomes continue to develop in temps lower than 65?

Outside plant is really dark and it's getting hard to tell if there is mold or other problems inside the buds.
On a side note, I discovered pink worms in some of my buds which explains the giant caterpillar holes on the top of my colas. I thought I had bumped them, but nope.

Air temps of 65º in the sun means the leaf and soil temps will be higher, so the plant will continue to do its thing!

If you have bud rot the leaves will turn brown even if they start purple. For caterpillars next summer, get some BT concentrate and start weekly spraying late August.

Thank you - that's good to know! When it's cold at night it's in the shelter so not really exposed. In the am I always find her dry so no dew to collect on her bud.

Oh, this will most likely be my first and last year growing outside in New England weather. I can't count on good weather in any month of the year here. Just glad I'm still on remote work so I can be around as I'd hate to leave her every day.

The temps are going to normal for this time of year here and will be in the high 30s at night and 50s during the day. She looks close, but do I dare keep her going when night temps are high 30s? I've been delaying taking out of the shelter in the am until temp goes up to 50 and this morning noticed a few wet leaves hanging off the buds. In these pics I was trying to isolate the buds from the sugar leaves is proving to be a challenge so I removed most the leaves from this.

Growing outdoors often means harvesting by the weather as much as the trichomes, so it's better to take it down before it freezes or rots! It certainly looks close enough to pull, but you could always snip a tester bud and quick dry it to make sure.
I think it's time...yes!!!

I had a few days left of okay weather so I'll be harvesting tomorrow evening. I plucked this little one this morning. Patience does pay off!

Notes: She looked thirsty this morning so I gave her a drink. I stopped feeding her as of last weekend and have given her a few doses of FF Sledgehammer over the last few weeks.

I'm going to do the 3 bucket wash and then hang dry. My understanding is that the drying area should be about 70 degrees with RH of 60. Is that correct? I may have to set up a humidifier close to the dry area and leave it on low to have low impact flowering plant in the tent (kept at around 45).

Looks good! Since relative humidity is relative to temperature, RH is the variable to focus on rather than temps. I like to drive off a lot of moisture in the first 24-36 hour and then slow the process down to get as close to a 7 day hang dry as possible.
Ty, so what temp/humidity do you use to drive off the moisture.
