She looks healthy but I have noticed some of the lower and larger fan leaves have a very slight discoloration on the edges. I'm not sure if it's an issue or just the normal process of aging into mid-flower and I'd like some opinions so if it is an issue I can nip it in the bud (pun intended!). These are three leaves where it's most noticeable.
Week 5 Day 6. Earlier in the week I removed the biggest and lowest fans that were starting to fade a bit (less than a dozen) and mid-week I applied Fox Farm Cultivation Nation at half strength. I've been cautious with fertilizing because the Fox Farm Ocean Forest was definitely hot, only applying at 1/4 strength but I took the larger fan leaves fading as a sign FFOF was spent. Removing the larger fans also allowed me to move the runt back into the space. Being a rookie I find the difference in the two plants interesting as they both received the exact same treatment.
The big girl is shaping up nicely and she's getting very odoriferous!
Week 6 Day 6 and I received my digital microscope yesterday so I have to post some pics. I've been tracking this grow on a spreadsheet and I initially had it planned out to 10 weeks of flowering (that would take it through September 5th).
In looking at these photos does it seem like it will take another 4 weeks or might 3 weeks be a better guesstimate?
Last day of week 8. At the beginning of the week I increased the dark cycle to 12.5 hours, increased LED power from 95% to 100%, changed spectrum from All Bright to Flower and reduced ambient air temp a few degrees. My Par meter indicates the increase in power offset any loss in reduction of blue light, still coming in at roughly 625 and that's not counting the UVA & IR diodes that are outside the detection range of the meter.
Tomorrow I'm increasing to a 13 hour dark cycle and reducing %RH from 40 to 35 for what should be the finishing days/week.
Harvested on 9/3. The 8 smaller shoots were dry by 9/8 and yielded 34 grams after a finishing dry trim. I just bagged this to keep me going through the cure. The 8 main colas were dry by 9/10 and yielded 105 grams after a finishing trim and they're curing in jars @ 70F & 62% RH in the jars.
The dried bud smokes smooth and kicks like a mule. 14 grams from the dried-only bud on a bandanna. I'll check back in when I take the first sample of cured product.
