Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg & More! CFL's - LED - HPS

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

Oh heavens no! I was just throwing in my two-cents. Been following your journal since the beginning. You've got some big strong girls going. Those girls are totally tweens! Typically, the tween years are when a child starts to eat you out of house and home. Don't let them suffer like poor Charlie Bucket before he found the golden ticket. Feed them some chocolate! nom nom nom.

One more question before I retire to watch the end of the Tigers game....GO TIGERS!.....
Is it safe to say that you don't want to splash the nutrient mix on the lower leaves when watering? I mean, will it damage them?
Thanks everybody and have a great night/day wherever you are!

ROFL, Rain...you always make me smile. Yeah, that would be a long trek for some basil. ....but you just got me thinking on the lavender!! I love that stuff and it won't grow around here. I'm heading for the nursery tomorrow to see what they have. ......
Hey....friends aren't supposed to make friends spend money!!
What power is the loupe? I can't wait until I can get some trich pics.
The ladybugs apparently accept me. They keep flying into my face when I'm working on the plants. LOL

Sorry for making you spend monies , but ya can't take it with you! And lavender smells so good. It takes a long time for them to root. You can use one of those fish take heaters to keep the water warmer, but I just let it be room temp in mine. It took a long time for the lavender to root, so be patient. I did cut them when they were just beginning to flower though, so maybe that contributed to the difficulty. I will do more in the spring.

The looper is 30x mag, it looks like a flashlight with a hole in the plastic on the bottom. It is kind of frustrating at first even to see the trichs, but after a while I sort of got it. What makes it hard is that it only focuses on a very specific distance. It is amazing to see though, the trichs on Tiger Lilly are so pretty. I think your Goddaughter will look and smell the same way. I just love that grapefruity smell!

You know ladybugs can bite people(I am being serious this time), I have been bitten twice in my life. A man who didn't believe dinosaurs existed told me they bit before I ever got bit, I didn't believe him, then I got bit. So maybe dinos didn't exist either... You know how I like my random bug facts ;)

Yes, don't splash them. It can burn the leaves. If you do a foliar feed the nutes are much less concentrated. I have splashed mine a bit and it just left residue.

I have a question too. It makes sense to root clones that will be in soil, in soil and clones that will be in water in water. But doesn't a bubble or aero cloner work much faster? So the extra time needed for the plant to adjust to the soil is negated by the fact that the water cloners are faster? I like the simplicity of the bubble cloner, and not having to worry about humidity or soil moisture, but I would be interested to know the answer to this. I would like to have options :)

Yeah, those biting ladybugs are nasty little creatures. We had them so bad in my area a few years ago that crop dusting planes had to fly over and dust for them. My property and everything on it was full infestation as well as most of the area.

On the cloning question,
I really don't know the answer on the extra time needed as yet. I did take one out of the cloner today and potted it, we'll see how long it takes to adjust to soil. Never done this before....so I'm as new as you to the concept. I think the bubble cloner has definitely worked faster with rooting, as I see the roots on one of the clones I had in the rockwool has really taken off since I transferred to the cloner. They were barely visible when I put it in there, now they are about 1/4" long!
..........and you need to look closely for my Chuck N. jokes on your thread........:;):

Lookin good canna, and I see that the heads are taking good care of you....LOL...have a lovely productive day!

Thank you Mcloadie. It's Monday...back to that one four letter word I hate so much....WORK. YUK!
Did I read a post from you somewhere that you stated you are an avid fisherman? I have fished and hunted all of my life. I haven't any time at all for it this year and I feel like I'm letting the fish down. LOL
You have a great day too.:ciao:

Yep canna, I'm an avid fisherman.....a little out of my element in the desert...LOLOLOL!! O.....a great friend gave me two halibut fillets that were sent to them from Alaska..........waiting for a perfect time to prepare them! I never did a harvest party this year...for the outdoor work I did........BTW, one of my protégés needed a vehicle.....hadn't had one in years......my accomplishments now include that vehicle.........it was covered in full by the summers work........it makes me happy....this persons efforts netted them only one seedling that finished.........29 of my babies finished........22 of them were a direct result of my breeding efforts...kinda tootin my horn...but I'm just tickled that I could help someone improve their situation! I'm a hunter of sorts........the killing part isn't attractive to me anymore, I've done my share of it. What I have gotten the most reward from is teaching children and adults shooting sports, I'm a wingshooter and have instructed many in the ways of the range......and the transition from hunter safety to actual hunting scenarios. I developed a set of techniques and have produced some fine shooters and sportsmen. In my younger days I did event security and personal security.......adrenaline.........

Halibut...yum! I went to the folks last evening and we had Walleye and perch.
The vehicle was quite generous of you, sure makes a person feel all better when you do something to help another out, eh?
Well, I better get moving here... daylight in the swamps.....well dang...almost high noon in the swamps! LOL
Have a great day all!

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

you dont want to get neat nutrients on any of the leaves but watered down will be ok as you can foliar feed, i know when we foliar feed we use a much weaker nutrient mix but getting some on the leaves when you water shouldnt hurt to much, ive not had any problems with mine such as nute burn from watering with nutrients.

the only time i had a problem was when i had some plants in flower and the one plant looked like it had something dropped on the buds that burned them really bad, for days i was trying to find out what it was then someone asked if i spray my plants, i said yes and was told that the water on the buds got magnified by the light and burned the buds, so now if i spray the plants which i do once or twice a month i make sure the fan is on full and i raise the light up and not had any problems since, i dont foliar feed i just spray them with plain once or twice a month so it washes on dust that my build up on the leaves on buds, but as long as the fan is on high and light raised then the water is no problem,

foliar feeding is the most efficient way for the plant to take in nutrients, if you have a nute lockout or def then you can foliar feed to give the plant what it needs and that works out quicker than waiting for the soil to dry our or ph to be adjusted, but not foliar fed anything other than plain water so cant comment on how well it works, its just comments ive read on the site that say foliar feeding is the quickest way for the plant to take in nutrients,

I would flip now, but I'm impatient as hell, especially when the stuff I have grown was waaaaaay better than anything else around here. I think 2 months is ample veg time, but what do you think?

I agree that it's had ample and more veg. time, I would love to flip to 12/12 but I want to be sure I'm not doing any major sacrificing of buds if I do. This is where I truly see how new I am. LOL

Hey DP, can you recommend any particular member on 420 that foliar feeds and can give information on how he/she applies and mixing strength? This interests me very much! No rush on that, when you think about it. :thanks:

Hey Canna...you are the artist of your plants...they are ready...if you are happy with their shape and size then flip:thumb:
I LIKE that answer Jay....in real life I am an artist. LOL It will be scary.....but I believe I'm going to go for it barring any reasons not to between tonight and tomorrow. I can't say "impatient" with this grow...seems like it's been a year!! LOL

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

Seems like the strains you selected are heavy Indica, which means they shouldn't stretch too much in flower, so if they doubled, or tripled in size, would you be happy with that? Both strains have fairly short flowering time, according to google that is, also do you have a timeframe in mind? Just questions I would ask myself, you know?

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

How is your screen looking? Is it filling in? If the goal is an even canopy having the screen somewhat full before you flip is key.

Hi Dank, yes I would be happy with that. I did a little research on the flower stretch on these too and felt I would be within my height limit, if not I'll just tie them down a little here and there where needed. The time frame was the breeders recommended time and I can't recall what that was right off the tip of my head, but I didn't have any problem with it. I do remember that. LOL
I'm kind of getting excited to go to the flower stage. WOOT WOOT!:yahoo:

If you flip now you will not be making a bad decision...you can adjust the veg times of your next grows and after a few grows you can come up with a time frame that works best for you.

An artist...I can totally picture you being an artist...it is very noticeable with your keen attention to detail

Just know..if you flip now you will not be making a bad decision and if you veg longer you will not be making a bad decision...the choice is yours:)

It is filling Peejay, I'll post a couple of pics tomorrow I hope. I lowered the lights Saturday, or maybe it was friday night...but it really helped. Even the plant I thought looked really sparse when I put them in there looks much lusher now. And the three plants still in the veg room are REALLY filled out.
