Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg & More! CFL's - LED - HPS

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

Thank ye kindly Jam!
I am only using the cal/mag on the plants in flower. The reveg plants are getting the bone meal, I'm not adding that to the ones in flower.
I will limit how often I use the cal/mag...maybe every other feed and see how it goes. Then reduce or stop using it if the problem doesn't start. It was just one plant in the first grow that gave me trouble, but I want to see if I can limit that this time. ;-)
Gotta run, I'm making cannabutter caramel candies today too!

Oh that one better go on the new site. Man your going to make me weigh 200lbs!!!!:high-five:

Pic has been posted on the Show Us Your Edibles thread Dennise. They are cooling now. Can't wait to dive into a couple! From what I've read, you and I both need the weight. LOL :circle-of-love:

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

I have a question on ballasts/lights that are adjustable power.
Why would I want to do any setting except full power on my light/ballast? Is there any specific time in a grow when I would want less than full power? Is using less power so the light can be used in vegging without using maximum electricity?

Okay, it's "some questions" not just one. :laughtwo:

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

:byebye: I think I read in one of the journals that there is a time during the veg period that you can use less than max power but to be honest I think it was someone in the UK that had really high Kilowatt per hour rates cause I remember sorta figuring the difference with my rates and it was so minimal I can't see why you would take the chance to do it, well if you have the energy cost that this state does. :hmmm: That's all I got.. :skeptical: But I'm sure someone that knows what they are talking about will be able to answer you.....

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

From what I understand it allows you to run from seedling starting st the lowest setting and bump it up through the stages of growth of course that's what I've heard from great growers here at:420:

You are correct canna, you adjust it as your plants get bigger.

Thanks guys. This is one of those simple things that I never thought to question why. I was just tickled pink to get the HPS light. :laughtwo:

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

I planted a couple of the clones from the bubble cloner into solo cups this morning. Nice roots!

And I have a question on the revegging plants, Jamthe3...or anyone else?
I don't see any new growth on them yet, and it appears to me that a couple of them are root bound. Lots of roots coming out the drainage areas. Would it hurt or shock them too much to try to transplant to bigger pots right now?
Thanks all!

If anyone is interested in looking at a basic Botany course, here's a free online class I found:

BIO306: Botany « Saylor.org ? Free Online Courses Built by Professors

No registration, no fee...just take the course. So far I see it's all free. There's biology courses there too, in addition to many other things.

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

Hey Canna, on your re veg :) I read up on it here, in one of the sections and it said that you reduce the root mass of the girl before trying to re veg. I dont think Donpaul does this though? It simply if you have a root bound girl either pot into bigger space like you said or simply reduce some root mass.
Hi LA, and thanks! On the Reps are Right on Sunday someone mentioned cutting down root mass. I'm going to go back and look that over to remember what the subject had been.

And BTW, I want to mention to everyone about the generosity and great people this site has. Light Addict has very generously offered me part of MOTM prize package, some SNS products!
I am truly grateful for this and I will someday pass forward if the opportunity presents itself to me!
:thanks: LA, you're a GEM!

I didn't re-pot mine although I think I read that once they show new growth would be the time to do it if that's the course you take. I wouldn't spend the time and resource (soil, etc) to re-pot until I thought it might be worth the investment and if you're in 5 gallon pots prob wouldn't re-pot at all, but that's just me as I'm kinda chinzy & hate wasting anything...I try to recycle EVERYTHING possible that doesn't require an excess of labor/time, lol. I didn't see squat for the first 3 weeks and then they exploded over the next 3. If I were you, I'd give it some more time and after say a month evaluate if the space/pots/soil could be better used on either something else or sticking with it a bit longer. The roots coming out the drainage holes aren't neccessarily a sign of "root bound" btw & shouldn't really be cause for concern at this time; in fact, at least you know for sure she's trying to grow herself back out.

As to the light, dimmible has some practicle uses. For example, 100% on the onset of flowering a tad higher than ideal and then lowering to 75% then 50% allows you to not have to raise the light as often w/o suffering PAR/useable lumen loss or increasing heat or light bleaching. Also, alot of growers seem to like having a milder light when first introducing plants under HID, especially seedlings and "fresh" clones. Its not neccessary as one can manually adjust the light's heighth or simply place small plants lower under the canopy manipulating the shade provided by larger, taller already established plants; but does make this lazy man's life easier here and there. Its infinately easier to twist the knob on the ballast than reaching over the canopy in a closet and "clicking" first one string than the other on the lights, lol.

I not sure about the transplanting but it takes two or three weeks before you see any new growth on the re-veg Princess DIY.

Thank you Jam!
I'm going to wait a couple more weeks then. Doesn't cause any issues with space or additional lighting. They are under the LED's, and that's where the clones are going. Plenty of space right now.
On the HPS lights, another member stated that using lower than the maximum setting on them can decrease the life of the bulb. Do you find that to be true?
Based on that, I think I would just lower them up and down as needed. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:thanks:

Thanks Reg! I guess I have some impatience going on. I need more edibles to calm me down. LOL
