Well, there are 6 of 6 Hyenas laughing up a storm in the rock wool houses tonight. Gotta love that.

I see some push ups going on with the other strains, tomorrow morning should be a nice treat. 12 for 12 would be awesome.

The White Widow seeds are just not doing a thing, even trying the hydro P. Tomorrow I'm going to try a little scraping job on them to see if I can coax them a bit more. The one that did crack is showing a completely black tiny tap root in the paper towels. It hasn't budged all day.

Bubba Tahoe OG, I have two popped and in the paper towels.

Sugar Black Rose was planted in the rock wool cube this morning.

That's about it for now.....

I am 0 in 6 for 6.....back to the heating pad idea....low was pretty low on the heating pad scale....medium might be better to heat up 6 inches of soil for a seedling with a little tap root.....?

Good morning everyone :nomo:

Finally having my morning cuppa.

Well, the damp paper towel didn't seem to be doing the trick for the stubborn seeds, so last night I got it a bit wetter. This morning I see that the tap root on Auto Northern Hog got coaxed out. YEY! The White Widow.....nothing yet and it's still black as coal. All but one of the other seeds have cracked...but that's all they did. So, they are in the paper towels. I can see white taps in two of them, so it looks promising. Maybe I scared them with the plan to torture them with a scraping this morning.

I have one Colombian Gold x Colombian Gold seed that still won't open up, so that one gets a scraping in a bit. It's a verrry tiny seed.

All you can do is try. I wish I knew what temp these seedling mats actually operate at. I remember looking at the info on the box a few years ago when I purchased it, and couldn't find anything on that. When I put water on it in a tray and stick my finger in there later it's like lightly warm tap water. Warmer than a glass of water sitting away from the area. I'm keeping the house cooler trying to save on the propane to squeak through the rest of the cold nights. ;-)

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Good morning Cannafan, Shawnee and friends, 'C', ive been seeing a few posts about germing seeds and wanted to tell you how i do it.
Soak seeds overnight in a small glass of warmed up water,..not hot , just warm. Put the glass somewhere warm OK. In the morning remove them . This overnight 'soak' is just to soften the outer casing, or shell . Now put them on a small plate inside a bunch of paper towels that have been folded over each other a bunch of times, know what i mean, so the 'plate' will hold a lot of water, really saturate it , to the point of pouring off the excess OK. Then sit this plate somewhere warm for a day or two, that's all it will take, any more than five days like that , and it's usually a 'dud'. If the seeds are viable , you will/should get 100% germination this way. As soon as you see the seed 'split ' to reveal the lil tap root, get it planted about 3/8- 1/2 inch deep into pre moistened soil (preferably DBHBB soil...:) ). that's it, done. I do this every time,..if i am growing four plants, i try to germ four seeds. They are too expensive to experiment with , i just do what works for me. The two most important things to remember are, moist and warm...:tokin: Cheers and have an awesome day.

Thanks Duggs, that's pretty much exactly what I do too. I do wait for tap roots to come out at least 1/4" before planting them. Just something I do that works for me. I have found my best luck having the paper towels really saturated, as you said.

Sometimes you get home grown seeds that are immature, I think that might be the problem with the White Widow seeds. They don't look fully mature to my trained eye. :)

I don't give up on seeds, I will do every trick in the book before I call em' dud and toss them. :) I'm stubborn too.

{{Homer Simpson exclaims.....}}

"DOH!!"

Let's see what temp that seedling mat gets to, I put my temp monitor on it.

I'll report later on what it gets up to.

It might get too hot but I've never tried so I could be mistaken as well

I have burned beans using that heat pad for muscles, you definitely need to watch your beans and temps Bc they got hard and temps were over 95 degrees

Patience is the best nute you'll ever give your plants

The seed plan is working! :cheertwo:

Purple Paralysis #1

It's hard to tell from the pic, but trust me...that's the start of a seed:

She has a lot more nanners on her, so I adjusted the buds around to be sure if any pollen falls that it will fall onto a bud.

Good info. :thumb: How did you determine the temperature it got up to?

Planting seeds the Mr A way, in 6 easy steps.

1. Fill pot with soil.
2. Wet soil.
3. Make small hole in soil.
4. Put seed in small hole.
5. Cover seed with wet soil.
6. Keep soil wet and wait 3-7 days for seedling to grow.

I've only ever grown from seed and I've only ever had 2 fail to come up. I've just put 10 into soil today, I'll keep you posted on how many come up. :dreamy: :passitleft:

Hey Sista!! A question for you and your peeps?

I would like to know, if you have water in a 30 gallon can for RO what would you put in the water to keep it fresh? H2O2?

Good question! I do not know the answer to that, but I'm sure someone here does. :circle-of-love:
