Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

I guess I could just nestle up against them like you would being snowed in on a mountain side for warmth.
We've got a cold snap this week, biting cold out there even though the sun is shining.

Hope you are warmer brother dear!

Shawnee....something to think about. Your plants probably did endure some stress during that power failure, but I'm skeptical as to whether it was that which caused you to have seeds.
It takes at least a week for nanners to become mature enough to start dropping pollen (I say at least, based on the experience I've had in the past..could take more time), and for seeds to reach maturity you are looking at a month or more.

My opinion is you had "nanners" long before the storm causing the power failure and they pollinated. You had seeds forming and probably didn't see them. Nanners are tough to spot when a plant is in full flower, and especially moreso under LED lighting for me. Seeds are even tougher as they can start deep into the bud near the stems.

Again, this is just my opinion, but I suspect the seeds were in process before that power failure.

Here I am, hoping to get some seeds from those nanners....I don't have a single Purple Paralysis seed left and I love how these plants grew out even after they were so sickly. Woo Hoo...hope and hope and hope.

Thanks for the musings, Canna; I will assume you are right and all was in process before my power outage.....funny how it happened and that I didn't even notice, and cannot specifically note something that was out of the ordinary.....in any case, I'm still learning and very thankful that I have you to discuss and ponder what the heck is going on......you rock, woman......:thanks:

Oooh....have fun and tell us all about it afterward. :)

I was considering taking a friend from out of state with me to the High Times Cannabis Cup, but the freaking rules are that you have to have a Michigan Medical Marijuana card to attend, and out of state residents cannot obtain one. Grrrrrrr.......

Purple Paralysis #1 will also be getting chopped this weekend. I think she has done a beautiful recovery from near death by critters. I should get a nice harvest even leaving a few buds for possible seeding. The 2 liter pepsi bottle is for size reference:

Nice job Cannafan .

Can you partially harvest and leave some flowers on to pollinate and let grow, and for how long to would you need to keep growing to develop seed?

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Well, my friend noticed it did not say you had to be a Michigan resident on the Cannabis Cup requirements, so those with a Medical marijuana card/license from other states can attend. Woo Hoo!

So, hopefully plans are going to work out. :)

GingaNinja:

You certainly can harvest part of it and leave the rest go for seeds. First time I pollinated a plant, I harvested the buds off the branches I hadn't pollinated and left the seed branches on for a couple weeks more to fully mature. You have to keep it under 12/12 lighting for the process, otherwise the plant will go into reveg state and muck things up for ya.

My own observations:
This happened to one a year or so ago, I put the plant in a sunny window,(daylight hours were different) and the seed process pretty much stopped as she started growing pistils again. I noticed on that plant that the nanners did not produce much pollen at all. Once the pistils are pollinated, it takes a few days to a week to start seeds. You will see the pistils shrivel and start dying back a brown color. The seed maturity process will take 30-45 days on average.

If I only get a couple of seeds, at least I'll have something. :thumb:

You got all that out of that little pot - good job

Yeah, she did okay in that little pot. LOL I have bigger pots arriving by the weekend for the spring grow plants that will be in soil. Some will be hempy, some soil. Damn!......I just remembered what I forgot to order...Perlite.

For those who weren't around to watch "SheHeShe", this female plant was turned male...eventually... by using colloidal silver. It took a very long time to start growing male parts, I had given up. Then she turned female again, and went so long in flower that she made nanners and self pollinated. That's kind of the short version. She was a mess to look at! But I got a lot of seeds off her.

I feel ya, same thing happened to me last grow. I used STS it showed pollen sacs then pistils then nanners. Like you i did end up with seed.

Well, that's one way to get seeds.

They were viable, I threw a bunch of them that were a bit green outside in a planter and they did all come up. However, I miscalculated how much the oak trees would shade that area once they were fully leaved out. So, those plants didn't get more than a foot or so tall at most. Each one had one small flower bud on them.

I threw a couple in a cup of water and got tap roots so ill do a grow with my own SK seeds after my next grow. The seeds are from my purple pheno so kind of excited to do another run.

Great! Did you see any purple buddage on your pheno? I keep hoping, but have only had one plant actually give me any purplish color and she was a dwarfed Auto....well other than cold stressing the plants to create the coloring.

Okay, I've started the chop on Purple Paralysis #1 this morning everybody.

Here's the main cola getting ready for a bud warsh:

She is still creating some pretty fresh bananas:

I don't see any signs of seeds forming in the top cola so far. I'll know more after it has dried a bit.
