Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Here ya go, Shawnee. This is a male plant, the "pollen sacs" as I used to call them, are what you will see on a hermied plant.

The male pollen sacs...from my own grow

what a terrific document illustrating this topic, Canna.....the pictures are worth a 1,000 words....I definitely had seeds on the 2 plants....is that considered hermied? Good lord, I can be dense sometimes.....

Haven't started to price generators yet....but will take your advice and wait until things calm down around here....there were still those here without power as of yesterday....the papers said that the CEO of DTE Energy in swanky Bloomfield Hills had lost his power as well.....quite the outage like I've never seen in my life!

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

This is an interesting conversation. I have 2 bag seeds I got from some indoor sleeskunk. Have no idea if it was self pollinated, or pollinated by something else wether male or hermie. Am I going to grow it out? Damn right I am. If it throws balls, I will either pull the pollen sacks or just cull them. I've seen some spectacular bag seed grows, so for me, it is worth the risk. I might get lucky and stumble on to the next chemdawg. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Instead of crying in my beer over the lost income, this particular strain was purchased for my first patient I ever had......I only had 1 more seed left and have been cloning the strain for 3 years, so to get all these seeds of this particular strain will guarantee that it won't be lost....at least that is how I chose to look at the disaster that was last week.

That would depend on whether the plant got pollinated from self preservation techniques or if it happened from a male or female that turned male (hermied) plant in your grow room throwing pollen around. If you have a female with nanners near another plant, that can accidentally get pollinated as well. Female plants with nanners don't throw around near as much pollen as a hermied or truly male plant with balls. In MY experience. Are the seeds brownish or really green? Really green means they aren't mature yet, and would probably not germ. Most people say to cure the seeds for a while, but I tested this last year and had one that was taken from a plant germ and sprout within a week of harvesting it. All up to you.

If you have the space, try to grow some of the seeds. :) What strain was it that you got seeds from? Curiousity.....

And Blaze, go for it! Experimenting with something new and watching how it turns out...how fun izzat?

Well, time will tell in my flower room #1 as the 8/9/10 week strains become ready to harvest.....this strain is Grapefruit Krush, an 8 week sativa. My patient #1 is an artist and she wanted something to get her creative juices flowing....and boy does it. It became my "go to" as well.

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Is that an Emerald Triangle strain? I grew out their lost coast og, and it was phenomenal. Maybe I should try the grapefruit krush as well then.

If you make your living from growing, and need to preserve that strain, then you should definitely try and grow out those beans. Just keep a close eye on them. Even if they throw a few pollen sacks, it's not necessarily all doom and gloom. If you remove them, they often don't come back. I've done that a few times.

Cannafan, I'm definitely going for it. Might pop them in the next few weeks. I've never grown bag seed. I'm quite excited at the prospect. LOL!

Yes, Blaze......

Your bag seeds remind me of Forest Gump....and a box of chocolates...

I should jump on to your journal then. Would be interested to see those genetics at work. :thumb:

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Oh wait... no link to your journal??

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Sorry, Blaze, I don't keep a journal....I just tune in to see my buddies once in a while....

Nothing wrong with that Shawnee

Save your watts on your generator for a couple of heaters, tv & a coffee maker. Keep the girls warm and just hang a flashlight over the plant for the "lights on" time.

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

thanks Blaze and Canna for your quick responses....I was wondering if those seeds would create more hermied plants and could I soak them and expect healthy flowering plants going forward with those....also didn't know the difference between nanners and balls (seeds)....these are definitely seeds.....geez, think I should brush up on the birds and the bees??????

You are probably good with birds and bees - but balls are not seeds.
If you have seeds that's no big issue. Tell folks you grew retro! (I remember the 80s - more seeds than flowers in most baggies!)
I had a loose cohort of girls on my last run, dozens of viable seeds per plant, still good smoke :)

Tremendous pics, thank you, but I def got seeds from these plants.....whatever....

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Shawnee....something to think about. Your plants probably did endure some stress during that power failure, but I'm skeptical as to whether it was that which caused you to have seeds.
It takes at least a week for nanners to become mature enough to start dropping pollen (I say at least, based on the experience I've had in the past..could take more time), and for seeds to reach maturity you are looking at a month or more.

My opinion is you had "nanners" long before the storm causing the power failure and they pollinated. You had seeds forming and probably didn't see them. Nanners are tough to spot when a plant is in full flower, and especially moreso under LED lighting for me. Seeds are even tougher as they can start deep into the bud near the stems.

Again, this is just my opinion, but I suspect the seeds were in process before that power failure.

Here I am, hoping to get some seeds from those nanners....I don't have a single Purple Paralysis seed left and I love how these plants grew out even after they were so sickly. Woo Hoo...hope and hope and hope.

I guess I could just nestle up against them like you would being snowed in on a mountain side for warmth.
We've got a cold snap this week, biting cold out there even though the sun is shining.

Hope you are warmer brother dear!
