Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

:happybday: to three other babies this morning! Nurse Canna wasn't needed at all, three little ones were born in perfect health and are starting to stand up and be counted already!

In order of birth based on growth:

White Widow #3, Sweet Critical, and Blueberry Cheesecake.

I am standing by in great anticipation of two Purple Paralysis. I can see their little necks showing. Shhhh...quiet in the delivery room so we don't frighten the long awaited ones. :shhh:

:cheertwo: hooray!!!

I am so sorry to read that you are in the hospital, I need to catch up on your thread. You get better and get out of there! I wish I could be there to squish those plant suckers for you. :(

Big hugs and healing Karma to you, our friend. :hugs:

I have always believed in showing the bad with the good in a grow. For those of you who have never seen or had the misfortune of a thrip problem (this is my first year of this), here's how tiny those things are:

A little closer:

Here's how you can spot that you might have them, the little whitish areas on the leaves that start spreading:

thrip_damage.jpg

They love to hang out in the center vein of the leaves, and in the crooks of the stems.

Fortunately, M'lady's know this and are doing their job:

Hi Canafan, I feel you need to do a complete and transparent speech to new subbers to your thread. They might not be aware of just how innovative and daring you are. They may not be expecting the heights of your knowledge and experience. Or the fearless abandon with which you jump on any experiment possibility.:rofl::rofl::rofl::thanks: Dan

 I think the "daring" and "fearless abandon" part is what has always worried my parents.

Her infection is better, and she is heading for the full body scan today. Thank goodness that part is here in the hometown, rather than driving two hours away.

I will send her your love, will be calling her shortly. :circle-of-love: :cco:

I was doing some light grooming and primping on the outdoor girls, getting ready for their photo shoot, and I literally scared the chit out of a critter.

wooly_bear_1.jpg

It's a wooly bear caterpillar, they are the larvae of Tiger Moths. I have never found one on an MJ plant before...but here it is:

wooly_bear_2.jpg

I also never knew they were not garden friendly critters. We used to have so much fun with these as kids, because of the way they roll into a tight ball when they sense danger.
But, they are plant eaters and it had to get relocated.

Some of the host plants for wooly bear caterpillars include birch, sunflower, maple and aster. Wooly bear caterpillars are also known to eat herbs, grass, weeds, nettles and dandelions. ... During the winter months, wooly bear caterpillars do not need to eat.

My bad bug section of the blog is going to need some additions after this season for sure.

Here's the girls near the back deck. I think Auto Fast n Vast x MK is going to be chopped within a week. Pretty much all of the trichomes are milky now.

Sorry about the white stuff, let's call it the girls' DE make up.

Here's the rest of them. I am not even going to try to put these in order.

If you squint....you can make out one of the little pond girls in between C. and C at the top left of the pic:

Our temps are supposed to get to 53 degrees tomorrow morning before dawn. Today it didn't get higher than 68. I don't think I like that cold air coming around so soon. I'm sure that at least two of these outdoor plants will have to come inside before they are through flowering.

So, I guess it's time to prepare an area.

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

:happybday: 2 Purple Paralysis and the Caramelo broke soil today. I will have pics in the morning.

I'm a bit concerned about the Blueberry Cheesecake, she started to open up but has stopped. Her neck is still bent and the backs of her cotyledon's are turning brown. I will know in the morning if she is going to grow.

The other birthday kids are doing great, upright and opened.

Thank you for relocating our furry little friend. Shame people dispatch them when they are so much fun.
For example, they acquire chemicals from the plants they eat for protection. Not saying you should eat the worm on your MJ, just saying you're letting those cannabinoids go to waste if you don't.
Also, they predict the winter weather. About equal black and brown on this one so not too bad a winter, maybe even a little mild. But watch out if you find a mostly black one.

Wish I had one to play with. I mean for my daughters to play with, yeah, my daughters. :laughtwo: :Namaste:

:laughtwo:....yeah, your daughters. Mm hmmmm

My brothers were mean, they used to throw them at each other. Me....I took them inside to my room and watched with curiosity never ending. They aren't really soft like some furry caterpillars, more spiny really. But so cool.

I have seen them around here for the last week or so, just not on the MJ plants. Mostly around the old wood piles.
I'll watch the colors, thanks for that info! I would love a mild winter....and so would my propane bill.

Beautiful... I especially love Lola... She's kinda special huh.......:circle-of-love:

:thanks: Yeah, she is. I have this urge to trim her into a perfect ball, like an ornamental decorative lawn tree.

Your garden looks very nice Cannafan.:thumb:

I kinda like the C. Cream Clone 2.... you did a good job of opening her up.

One day last week I emptied out my Canna Wagon as I only had a few plants left in it. Now that the weather is starting to get chilly at night I'm gonna have to load it back up with the new kids and wheel it in the garage at night. It's still 55 degrees at 8AM, but that's not gonna last.
