Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

How are your grafts doing? :)

The one I did onto the Blue Blood plant appears to be dead. It did fuse where I grafted it, but the rest of the stem has appeared to die out. I have 3 more under humidity bags onto the Master Kush male plants. Two of them were done about 4 days ago? and are still alive although droopy. I did one more yesterday morning without wrapping it with the tape and just used a clothespin to hold the graft area. She seems to be holding up pretty good too with the humidity bag.
I have been reading that this can take up two weeks for the graft to completely heal up, and that the success rate is around 50%. LOL
There are lots of posted items out there on the process, and a couple of videos...but I am finding that what you see is the initial process, there isn't much on seeing them fully grown out and thriving.
I'll be checking in on you later. :)

Looking lovely Canna, seems we are entering the harvest window at the same time!

I like the kind of windows you don't have to wash.....

Cool :), to me though those figures are a bit off. I'm guessing here but reckon I can get this up to about 90% success rate pretty easy. Both the pair I've done and bagged have taken. I think having a clean graft to graft point without water or anything may be the key!
Think of it like this, a plant gets cut a bleeds, or weeps the very material it uses to repair, as any natural system does. So then I swiftly combine them and squeeze firmly, this bleeds them some more and creates a natural seal, then if bound quickly and firmly and bagged they seem to work but must have min foliage to drive! (That's my two cents anywhoo) :)
I'm gonna try grafting on some quite young plants soon to see if its any harder or easier etc and then veg em out as norm for quick multi flowering fun! :)

I actually did the no water or clonex on the most recent one. We will see if it works better than the two with the clonex gel on it. I got to thinking about clonex in this situation being a moisture barrier more than a help. If the plants own moisture can't get through that, then it seems it's rather pointless. We'll see on that one too.

I'm going to be putting these two plants with the grafts into a 20/4 light schedule. I need the Budmaster light for girls going to flower over the weekend.
The graft plants are male, and they are flowering with their pollen sacs already. This should be interesting. Can't know what happens unless you let it happen.

Cee Cee (custard cream clone 1) got great big new digs this morning. This plastic bag pot appears to be about 7 gallons of soil. I want to compare what this bigger one does to the 3-4 gallon fabric pots. The Blue Dream is doing awesome in the larger plastic bag pot.

I have one more Custard Cream clone to transplant today. Still waiting on baby M&M (Blue Dream clone 1) to be ready. Going really sloooow for some reason.

Other than supplying my Mom with oil.....I'm wondering why I'm growing at all right now. LOL

Because you love it and you're very good with the cannabis plants. I always love looking at your bunch.

I think.......I may just have success on all three graft clones!

Here's the two I did more than a week ago. You can see the leaves are not dead, they are wilted a bit...but they appear to be picking up and the shoots on the stalks are nice and green.

I took the wraps off and they appear to have fused:

One was done wedge style and the other with the angled cuts. The humidity bags are back on them. I really think these took. Woo Hoo!

Here's the one I did about a week ago. I did not wrap this one, I just clipped a clothespin to the wedge graft join and put it in the humidity bag. This one appears to be doing good as well.

Happy days indeed :) its funny as this grafting lark aint that hard once you get the basics down it would seem. Chuffed your having such success as well :)

Thanks LA! I'm chuffed too. Had these attempts not worked out, I was going to call it a day and move on to something else. LOL
