Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Maybe third times' a charm in regards to plants....LOL
The graft attempt #3 appears to be doing well.
I chose a different branch above a node on the Master Kush (root stock), and cut a different branch from the Custard Cream (I have lots of potential clones going as of today. ;-) )
I used the straw again because it holds the join together tightly and then put a clothespin on that after taping it closed.
This time I cut the v shape on the cutting and dipped it in cloning gel before inserting it into the root stock stem. I've read that it works....and I've read that it doesn't work. So, let's see if it works.

I decided that it absolutely needs that moisture tent for awhile, so I made one and it survived the day yesterday and overnight pretty darn good.
Here it is through the tent:

I have step by step pics, but I'm going to wait on that until I know for sure this has bonded together.

I don't mind if you come by and clean my house...:) Just trying to help....:circle-of-love:

If ya lived closer.....I would think about that. LOL Let me know if your "renter" ever leaves...I might show up and settle in.

It's true "Be careful what you wish for". Last year I was wishing for time to try new things.....now I have way too much of it.

Good morning Canna! :nomo:

Can you imagine if you two ladies lived together? Now that would be a journal right there. I picture the Laverne and Shirley show with Dennise with a big "D" on her all her clothes.

I would play Lenny and PeeJay can be Squiggy.

"Were gonna make this grow come through...were gonna do it..."

:420: should sponsor us to come up with a pilot episode. You KNOW that Netflix will pick it up.

Yeah, Netflix would do it!

LOL, I only watched that show because of Lenny and Squiggy...the smartest dumb guys on the planet.

Good morning to you as well!

The way I've gone for it with grafting is to maximize the new contact area. Instead of doing the V cut, I've just gone with a long angled cut \ this gives way more area to bind up and graft etc. I know the V is the norm or the most represented method yet so far I'm finding the single angled cut far simpler! :)

Thanks Light Addict, I did find more people using the angled cut than the v. The one that failed yesterday was in an angled cut...but I don't think I matched it up very well when I did it in addition to it being a very small stem. The other one that I started yesterday is the slice down the middle of the root stock stem with the v cut on the cutting.

I also found an interesting one where you just lean a branch from another plant over to the other and cut off a slice of each stem, then stick them together at the slice and tape them together, and wait for them to bond. After they've bonded together, you cut one of them from their original Mother and seal up the end until it heals.

I can't imagine doing that.....I did see that it worked, but you certainly wouldn't be able to move a plant around if you needed to. LOL

The next one is going to be the angled, I'll be using a plant that I plan to harvest tomorrow or Monday as a root stock. It's going to have lots of stems to play around with while in reveg.

I guess I'll join the Bath tub girls club today.

Here's Auto Durban Poison in the tub with a nice refreshing misting on her: (Doobie Girl)

And all 3 autos in the tub soaking up the mist. The one I saved, Fast n Vast #1, is doing great!

Some of the Veg kids:

Thea, (Custard Cream) she will need to grow out a couple shoots where I took cuttings. I will be topping a couple of the larger tops soon:

One of the Master Kush, unknown sex:

The graft cutting is still holding. A little droopy, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

I have a question for you, O Lady of the Felted Pots.

A little experiment I have started today is just burying my felt pots into my flower soil in bigger pots. After I saw all the roots in the SWICKs after just a week I thought this would be fun to do for a run.

But the question, I need to flip these almost immediately. Have you ever observed root growth during the first couple weeks of stretch after flip? I know once flowers are going they stop almost completely, but does that happen right away or over time? Have you ever observed this?

Just wondering how many days I should let em go to make sure there has been some root penetration. The pots aren't significantly larger, only about an 1'' all around so I don't need much.

Sorry to hyjack you hey but this is the place where Everything Changes! :circle-of-love:

Know what? It's not something I've really payed attention to before. But thinking back, if I saw a bunch of roots coming out of the pots during flower I would have taken note of that especially in the first couple of weeks. I would have been worried my pots were too small. So, I'm kind of no help there because I've not thought to check on that. :-( Maybe someone else will pop in with something beefier in the way of answer. :)

What is it that you are going to try to achieve by burying them in the soil, if I may ask?

You never hijack. Spammers hijack....and you aren't a spammer.....:circle-of-love:

Laziness. Not pulling them out of the felt pots they are in. A question from a freind came up recently about advantages of felt, and this came up as a possible one. No stress for transplants. Just plunk them down in the soil. I don't really have transplant anxiety but the did, especially with bigger girls. Thought I would have a go and see what happened. I was considering leaving them in the 3.5G felt pots and cutting in additions to the soil when this came up.

Isn't a spammer what Light Addict calls a wrench? :laughtwo::slide::laughtwo:
