Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Man, this thread is quite the blessing...thank you all for all your expertise and knowledge....it takes a village...I got into caregiving for my elderly parents, who, of course have wanted nothing to do with my "business." I'm getting interested in the oils now to help my patients and I love the learning and researching....after several years of gentle giving of information, my mom is becoming more educated and interested in trying the CCO....she has dementia/alzheimers (hard to separate) as did her mother....as probably will I in the future...but she is opening up and willing to try at this point....not much out there on specifics, so I appreciate those of you pointing those of us interested in the right direction.....:Namaste:

Hello Dennise,

Hope you and Paco are improving daily....I heard you mention daffodils in your yard recently and it just made me sigh...I can't wait! :surf:

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Is this accurate? CBD degrades faster than THC? This might be something to consider for those growing high CBD strains, if it's true. Anybody have input on that?

There is a clip at Herbies' about how long to flower the Harlequin:

As someone admittedly at risk of early onset dementia (that is what you allude to isn't it?) you should be on oil yourself now and from this point on. For the protection of your neurons Shawnee. The results I've read in what few testimonials you can find on the internet show great promise for the use of CCO to not only act as a protective shield against the damage but to actually repair damage. The big challenge appears to be starting the healing process before the intervention of big Pharma's concoctions and the myriad of side effects that accompany them. If you're not using oil yourself yet, please consider it soon. :circle-of-love:

Smokie.....

The longer you do this the more frustration you face. The trick is turning that frustration into action beyond the tears that initially wash the anger out of your system. Plant that seed Canna suggested and let it grow at its own pace. You can only do so much, but you can do that small thing. Heal yourself and you're that much stronger to help the people that are suddenly going to begin to find you or that you feel compelled to approach.

Sue, I am on this believe me...my heart has been broken twice watching my heroes decline and I am well aware of what is in store for me....studying this new topic 24/7.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Dennise,

Your speaking of landrace strains.....they are the real deal and true portrayal of the original plant in all it's glory and how it is supposed to be and grow and look and taste.....my idea of a plant really not far removed from heaven....it spoiled me, actually....very old school, which makes me a purest on the horticultural front....which explains the very essence of who I am.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Well said, Shawnee. Thank you. My 'M' oil is landrace Mazar and I aM happy to have it.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

On the Pulmonary disease I got nothing. The video already linked appears to be the best out there right now. Isn't that just sad? My gut feeling is to go with a high CBD for both. Without any real data behind us we're feeling our way through. I've watched that video and I'm curious: when she says "CBD at 30%" she's talking about the ratio? I know of no strain that has a content of 30% CBD. If so , then I'd start with a balanced 1:1 strain. I have two in my tent now and this summer there's at least one breeder (Dinafem) that's offering a new line of high CBD autos that are being tested on another site.

Geez, we need to legalize. This stuff should be at our fingertips by now.

I believe the CBD at 30% is the measure of the CBD concentration IN THE OIL not in the buds.
In a well concentrated oil this sounds like the 2:1 ratio - 60% THC and 30% CBD = 90% cannabinoids :)

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I've been in and out of this thread for my mother and I, but for the first time I'm sitting here crying. Let me explain.

My ex-husband, his father and I are close. I didn't say his mother because his mother has frontotemperal dementia. She's not even fifty yet, and will never leave the hospital. They've given her maybe 3 years.

After reading, I searched her disease and cannabis. If we could provide homecare, I could help her. They won't let her leave though. My heart is literally breaking right now that I can't do anything for her. I can't save my kids' grandmother, because of a prohibition. Even though cannabis is a proven miracle plant, I can't save her with it. The bloody government won't save her, and they could. They could.

My heart goes out to you. Stay strong when you need to. Be vulnerable when you can handle it.

What I have been able to find, I agree with Canna that a balance I think will be the best. I am passing any good information (and there has been a bunch!!! Thanks everyone) to Robin's friend. They are of Indian decent so I am hoping they are more open to things besides Western medicine. :thanks::circle-of-love::peace:

SG, Indian...as in Asian descent or Native American?

If Asian descent, here's some reading:

Has anybody else read this article in 420 News? Cannabis 2.0: Are Terpenes The Secret To Customizable Highs? When we can figure out what terpenes are good for what, this could be a major break through. :peace:

Check this article out (from a research website)

I also passed you a blog entry about terpenes that I suspect might not be allowed to be reposted here - since it's a blog

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

This is heartbreaking. Truly

After you've had time to gather yourself together, do you think it would do any benefit to try to get the family members to read through what you've seen? Just to let them know there is an option there that they can try? It would get them discussing it, and thinking about it. They may shut it down at first, but as time progresses and they see the progression of the disease...they may change their minds. At the very least, the seed will be planted.

I feel so bad for you and for her. I just don't know what else to say, except if I were closer you would get the biggest longest hug I could muster.

Unfortunately, it would be of no benefit. My father in law is an amazing person but his job has him out of town more often than not, and I'm not sure we could afford homecare 24/7. She's already partly gone as well. She knows who you are when you are there, and she recognized my oldest after not seeing him for a year. But she didn't even know he was there a few hours later, nor did she remember seeing her own son. It's hard watching her deteriorate, and that's exactly what's happening. The type of dementia she has basically eats her frontal lobe. Her actions and responses are that of a child now. I just wish I wasn't 5 hours away, and that the doctors would listen.

I could really use the hugs, so thank you.

It's just not what I was expecting to learn.. ya know? Anger was the first emotion that hit, and then you're absolutely right, frustration. Frustration that I can't just bring her here and help her. Frustration that even if I did, I am not properly trained to handle this kind of situation or her current health. Frustration that the government KNOWS what could help her, but is instead feeding her a slew of who knows what and it isn't helping.

I am about a month out from my first harvest and I'm even more motivated to heal my own mother and I now. I will not stand by and let another person I love go through hell that can be prevented. I will go reread the last few pages and see which seed it is that Canna recommended I plant. Then I will hunt it down.

Frustration to motivation... that's the key. Thank you Sue.

Words to live by. Thank you Radogast.
