Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Did you get Beta or VHS? :hmmmm::laugh::peace:
That's too funny!

hey Cannafan, she said it was $80 an oz. for cannabis oil. did not specify it was "consentrated". I assumed it was.,

Yeatster, if you find out whether it's a tincture or not, also see if you can find out whether it's an Indica or a Sativa. Let us know if you can. Hopefully it would have some kind of label or information on it. :)

Message sent Dennise. If you guys/gals watch Fleabay and cramazon, you might get a good deal. The glass collection jar is not all that necessary, wild man Jim uses a large mason jar. I saw that they sell them with or without the glass collector unit.

Good to read SG! My coffee tasted better this morning. I really did notice a difference. :)

Another series of questions for the experts;

1] If I were to treat a large, inoperable, slow growing, benign (non cancerous), brain tumor with CCO, would I treat it the same as one would treat cancer?

2] If so/not, what would the proper dosage be, in your opinion(s).

3] what strain(s) would I be looking at?

4] Do dispensaries sell CCO, or is this a DIY option only?

My apologies for the bombardment of questions, the wife is opening up to this option.
peace.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Yeatster, I see on your profile the name Jim. There are so many Jim's here! And every one of them danged fine people. Never met a "Jim" I didn't like. :circle-of-love:

I can't answer on the benign tumors, hopefully someone else can.

Dispensaries do sell Concentrated oil. And they are expensive for what little amount you will get for your money for sure. You would have to look at what's in your area and ask them, if you are in a legal state and have those.

Caution on what you are getting at dispensaries, ask questions on quality...are they tested...what strains etc. It makes a difference in daytime and nighttime oils as to how the patient reacts when the dosing starts. You can read more on that on the oil threads.

Look them up on the internet or ask around to see if they have been into trouble regarding what they are selling to people.
There are many articles about dispensaries having tainted meds and inferior products for sale. Pesticides, blech!! Which is why I prefer to make my own. As stated by someone earlier, we know what bud went into it..how much, what kind of growing materials, and the quality of the bud during the grow and after harvest.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

i do live in a legal state. I will look around, still scratching the surface on this topic. Thank you SO much for your help, thus far. I hope I don't become a pain, with all my Q's
Peace.

Au contraire Yeatster,...we love questions. It's how the rest of us learn as well!
I applaud you for them, that means you're giving good thought ahead of time to be prepared for things.

:bravo:

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I am predicting the next question on topical applications using creams and tinctures will be whether they will affect a drug test.
I found an article with an answering opinion on that and posted to the blog. I will research further as time allows.
I will also be testing this myself with my tincture and pain cream meds on my Dad. He is not taking the oil, so he's a perfect subject to do the at home drug test after a few days of using the cream or topical we choose.

My "Pops"...my Hero...my Guinea Pig....

Welcome Yeatster and thanks for the questions! Everybody learns something from all the questions asked.

I can give you a little insight to your question number 4. I had an old college pal come for a visit. I introduced him to my morning cannabutter-ed toast. It helped with his pain and hypertension problems that he usually vaped to help him with. He buys his vaping oils from a dispensary in Colorado. When he returned to Colorado he went to his usual dispensary and asked about butter. He bought some butter from them for $50 a 1/4lb stick. He said he barely felt anything from it.

I think the dispensaries are in the same league as the retailers. Just want the money. Don't really care if what they sell works for the patient.

My suggestion to people that need medicine fast is to grow an auto or two using the Hempy technique under an LED grow light. Two months to harvest, a week drying and if need be, two weeks of curing. (I have made oil without curing and I saw no difference in the oil.) Then you will have a clean product to make into an oil, a tincture or just some flowers to smoke or vaporize.

Hope that helps :goodluck:

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

For the info...
Dispensaries are no different than any other big business. You'll need to do some homework on the dispensary itself to find the best/correct ones.
And great ones ARE out there.
Also, if the meds are from a dispensary, the container will have all the info you need on it.
Potency, cannabinoid percentages, everything used in the grow, everything used in the concentrated. If you don't bother to read this, you can't complain about it. Someone said their friend bought some but, but it was weak. Well, they should've read the potency which is listed right on the bottle.
I don't know about other states, but in Colorado all this info is a given, not a mystery.
Last thing, the best thing to do is ask them questions as we do here.
If they don't know what RSO/CO whatever is...run away. Lots of dispensaries don't know the med side of cannabis. Stick with the medical side.

And check Travelocity & similar websites for travel deals.
You can fly to Denver, round trip, for cheap. Stay overnight in a cheapy too.
A patient can fly in, purchase their oil, fly out the next day for WAY cheaper than growing yourself, ect.
If your paying more than $60/g, walk away.
I've done it myself lots. Just an option...

Don't know who all is watching the cannabinoids summit.
The organization that Nurse Dawn said was one of the ones leading the way in info, PACT...
That's the organization I belong to!!! That was so awesome to hear the docs talking it up.
Dr. Vincent has been into using cannabinoids for years. He's forgotten more than most will ever know. I can't remember his nurse's name, but I have a picture with her in it. I guess that's my 2 sec of cannabis fame. Lol.

Concerning Green Flower Media's cannabis health summit:

I watched the whole thing instead of making oil and twenty other things I should have done, but this was just too cool to miss. I will also be buying the $100 or so DVD set ($67 for access to what sounds like cloud based content..."slightly more for the dvd set").

This program was very good support for care givers. Lots of "how to present" and dosing stratigies...things to help others, as well as ourselves. Science based facts ... anecdotal testimony ... life stories ... doctor experiences ... even pet efficacy and technique ... and much, much more.

Well done Green Flower Media. More 'Summits' and classes to follow. Copies (sales) of program to follow soon.

All caregivers should consider this program absolutely mandatory.

I will try contacting Green Flower and our mods to investigate the possibility of presenting this info here. Stay tuned to this station for further announcements.
