If they really cared about home growers they would have a clone and seed market.
What we have going at the moment is pretty laughable and just shows how they favor the industry more than the individual.

if you look at the legislation, we're technically only supposed to buy genetics from gov't approved suppliers, and the thc levels are supposed to be regulated to 15%.

even the legal dispensaries took 25 seconds to ignore that.

except in in one or two provinces there are no gov't approved suppliers. the province is in control of that side. we still buy our genetics through a loophole and mostly grow technically illegally. it's a portion of the law different levels of enforcement have made a decision not to enforce.

it is typically canadian. make a weird catch 22 law, and then let everyone ignore it.

they do have a quality check. a number of legal commercial growers have had their licenses revoked for subbing in and selling selling black market product. the majority of the legal commercial growers in manitoba got popped, home grow isn't even legal there.

the other barrier is legal commercial craft growers have to meet the facility regulations commercial growers are faced with. it takes a few million in infrastructure to meet that. if you can swing it, the gov't in sask will definitely consider your application.

we lost a decade long legal med grow and had all our genetics confiscated over the issue of not being able to meet the facility standards to continue.

I'm greatful also and I except that expungement is easier for some also and I'll leave it at that. My problem is with 4 plants, there's nothing adult about it. I just lost my count to this one. It's wonky and worm food. Foliar flooding is the only thing that would make it green up.

Luckily I got gifted an African plant. Not what I'm ues to. Organic growers so I mixed a batch to keep it happy. Maybe time to get away from coco and chemicals. Best hobby going!

yea its deff a grey area. I totally understand they want to make it sure everyone is growing government approved genetics.

As i home grower looking to enter the cannabis industry i feel like its kinda ridiculous that for example in ontario only being able to purchase genetics from OCS.

And to your point yea its brutal finding genetics that are feminized seeds with decent THC percentages.

Its also very grey area on if your allowed to purchase genetics from domestic seed banks. Ive always wanted to grow certain genetics and its almost impossible to do that legally even if its only 4 plants.

Thanks for the info yea there gonna be for next year i wanna start my plants from seedlings next year normally i get clones for a buddy that grows seedlings

bc bud depot is great. for the most part you are dealing with actual breeders when you order from them.

true north used to be ok but i stay away now. they are a reseller, and have turned their attention almost solely south of the border. all their prices are now US dollar based, and then converted to cdn, as a business they want solely to be paid in US dollars now.

they also stopped giving a shit about their cdn customers, and have awful service now. a lot of cdn growers get neither the seeds or their money back.

a lot of complaints used to be settled through the board, so they dropped the sponsorship and gave us the finger. stay away.

be careful if selling. 3 guys here in sask are facing 2yrs less a day for selling a couple oz's. if you don't have the license to sell, you're still just as illegal as before.

the cops have started fishing on social media to see if anyone is stupid enough to take the bait.

I'm in total awe of the blase attitude lots of folks have about cannabis. The only option I have is to follow the strait and narrow otherwise I get ptsd that goes through the roof. Terrible year in the NE, the rain event just isn't going away and just reading about Vermont getting hammered and most likely coming my way. There's way to much duality for craft cannabis in my neck of the woods. You should see craft beer ...... it's like a free wheeling liquor land, lots of dummies thing weed is the same.
