Hey Azi - The Dandelion Elixer is Emilyas recipe that I sort of simplified. Pick a bunch of dandelions, chop 'em up a bit, put in equal weight in brown sugar, I added a bit of water and a smidge of yeast. I stirred and crunched it a few times a day for awhile and let it sit for about three months. It bubbled away for awhile and smelled like silage. Not a bad smell. I probably made dirty dandelion wine!!! I strained out the dandelions a couple of weeks ago and I noticed that the liquid is still bubbling just a little - it has a definite fizz to it. I add one teaspoon to a gallon of water - I haven't noticed any growth spurts or anything but I also haven't killed anything. :ciao::nervous-guy::thedoubletake:
Ok, that's not a Jadam water extract, but a KNF sugar extract and also really good stuff. Usage rates for those are  much lower though. Where the Jadam stuff is diluted 1:20 with more water, the KNF extracts are usually more like 1:1,000.

The sugar extracts produce a very low pH liquid, much like a weak vinegar. So your 1 tsp / gallon is about 1:750 dilution which is on the strong side, but is also the strength I use mine at. Don't go much stronger though, at least not before testing as this is pretty potent stuff.

The more I read about this and I was sitting in my garden, vapin' a bit to kill the pain I was thinking I could try my white clover and grass clippings - lazy way - might not be as strong but easy as hell !!!! :yahoo: Just use more!!!
I think the best plants to use are the dynamic/super accumulators like dandelion, comfrey, s.nettle, horsetail fern, seaweed, etc. But lots of stuff will work, but just like you say, some not as strong as others.

Or.....you could put some in a container (small Mason jar or a 55g barrel) cover with water, add a bit of worm castings and make yourself some Seaweed JLF, some liquid goodness you can add to your water for your plants.
Thank you, Azi! Does it need a breathable or sealed lid?

No to the breathable lid (and better for the neighbors if it isn't! ;))

A sealed lid is fine, although you'll want to periodically burp it to change the air in there. And only fill it 2/3rds full, leaving the rest as an air pocket.

You can literally do this in a very small mason jar or a 275 gallon IBC tote, but keep in mind that you'll dilute it at least 1:20 when you use it so consider how much of the stuff you'll actually use before you get too carried away.

Had to harvest my autos, buds where thick and and I had a spot of rot. Sticky and smells great! The place reeks. LOL.

However this plant was such a weird skinny plant I had little expectations on it and planted in the garden.
That's why I kept this one - "Kinky" - she had real weird krinkly leaves so I got curious!!

I'm trying out the Espalier style training. The bottom is cut out of that bucket so the roots can roam.

Nice buds! Never tried auto-flower. How long from seeding to harvest and how many hours a day of light?

Autos are ak47 from 34 st. All I did was let them grow on my deck and the only consideration was not letting them get rained on. Seed broke the surface middle of May and I harvested aug the 1st. No shame getting bud rot. We got alot of hot humid weather, buddy with a raspberry u pick had to shut down from it. My indoor is underway with Critical Orange Punch. Autos are really getting popular down here for outdoors.

Wow! Talk about a quick harvest! What was your average yield?
My Cafe racers take 10-12 weeks in flower.
For indoors auto, is it a 18/6 lighting?

I need to reconsider my questions.
Change the color and font, maybe?
Love the likes but still in the dark about auto's. My strain is crazy long.

I've been messing around with my system - I run it thru the 1/2"mesh first which doesn't get many of the worms - Then move it back into another bucket layering it with stripes of dry news paper - I let that sit over night to dry out a bit and then run it thru the 1/4" mesh - I get a pretty good return and the majority of the worms go thru with the paper and any bigger chunks.

I just get real high and sift through it by hand a couple of shovelfulls at a time. About the only technical thing is wetting it a bit, keeps a garden from growing in the lungs. Just noticed mildew settling on lilacs ....... this outdoor thing can be truely brutal! :)

One of my plants is fine, but I'm bummed about this one. It's just not cut out for N. Atlantic marine fog ..... not much is! I'm going to try the same seed later this winter along with photos and see how that goes.
