With legalization outdoor growing will be banned in Alberta. However my wife could have her 4 recreational plants inside and my legal medical trees can be in the garden outdoors.

I also have a question for you guys about a good recipe for cannabutter? Something that you have personal experience with, not just copy and paste from Google.

I grind up and decarb 1 ounce of bud in the oven at 170⁰F for 45 minutes.

I put water in a pot, heat it and melt 1 pound of salted butter in it.

I bring it to a slow boil and put the ground decarbed bud in it stirring occasionally for 3 hours.

Take it off the heat and strain all the contents through a cheese cloth into a bowl.

Place the water and butter in the fridge and let the butter cool and set up again.
Pull the hardened butter off the top of the bowl and pour away the water.

I use 1/4 pound of cannabutter in a batch of brownies. Everyone says you can't taste the weed at all in the brownies. But in 2 hours you're fucked.

Yeah scientific that's what I heard too... wouldn't surprise me if they wouldn't let anyone grow.

They should let medical patients still grow outdoors... if not, 50 bucks for some lumber, a roll of poly and it's now indoors lol.

I think the distinction needs to be made between "recreational" and "medical". You certainly can't share any other prescription with someone else, thats illegal. Someone will surely challenge it if comes down to that.

I just read the information bulletin that came with my ACMPR renewal. It says, and I quote:

"You are only authorized to to produce a limited amount of cannabis for your own medical purposes - you cannot share or provide it to anyone else."

Seems pretty clear to me that theres a line in the sand where "medical" and "recreational grows won't cross paths with each other.

Hey SD, why do you cook the butter for 3 hours? I've seen other recipes that call for only 90 minutes of cooking.

In my tent I have catnip, hot pepper, wandering jew, and jade. I actually just gave away a jew today so I have more room. Veggies will be started within a couple weeks, I'll have tomatoes, sunflowers, various lettuces, and maybe something else too.

It's funny. I feel like my mom and I have already done some bonding over this and will do a lot more. She's a lifelong gardener and we were talking about how calming it is. It's funny the doors this stuff opens.

Things are still growing well here. Buds are fattening and the veg box is booming with growth.
